Jake Paul set to beat Dana White to Las Vegas Sphere with Katie Taylor - Amanda Serrano rematch

Jake Paul and Eddie Hearn will reportedly successfully beat Dana White in the race to hold the first-ever live sports event at the fabled Las Vegas Sphere. Paul and Hearn will allegedly co-promote a boxing card headlined by the rematch between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano, with a targeted date in June.

Las Vegas Sphere set to host UFC 306 on Mexican Indepedence Day in September

The Las Vegas Sphere is a state-of-the-art venue with the capacity to seat 20,000. What makes it special though, is the impressive array of LED monitors that wrap around the entire venue, forming a sphere. The monitors can be set to play any number of exciting and trippy visuals, and the Las Vegas Sphere is nowadays commonly thought to be one of the world’s most unique locations to host any show or event.

Previously, it was thought that White would attain this record of bringing the world’s first live sporting event to the Sphere, with his September 14th Mexican Independence Day card. However, according to Irish news outlet RTE, Paul and Hearn will now swoop in and take the cake. Per RTE, an official announcement is reportedly projected to be announced in only a few days.

Jake Paul and Eddie Hearn Look to Make History at the Las Vegas Sphere

Representing Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing, Taylor looks to go 2-0 against Serrano. Their first match took place in April of 2022, and a hard-fought battle led to a split decision that saw Taylor go home victorious. On the other side of the ring will stand Serrano, representing Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions. If everything goes according to the reports, Paul and Hearn will successfully become the first to promote any live-sporting event at the Las Vegas Sphere, which would surely make Dana White sick to his stomach.

The first bout between Taylor and Serrano was held at Madison Square Garden and has since become known as the biggest fight in Women’s boxing history. Most notably, both fighters have also been undefeated in all of their recent outings, with Taylor having defended her title three more times and Serrano defeating all four of her last opponents.

Do you think a live sporting event held at the Las Vegas Sphere will hold up to expectations, and do you think it’s a big deal if Jake Paul and Eddie Hearn beat Dana White to the record?

YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul is done with punching bags. Instead, he’s honing his skills using Soundcloud rappers.

Earlier this week, ‘The Problem Child’ welcomed Lil Pump to his BS w/ Jake Paul podcast. Halfway through the interview, the ‘Gucci Gang’ musician asked Paul to punch him in the stomach as hard as he could, just so he could experience the sensation. Paul was happy to oblige and donned a pair of boxing gloves.

They climbed into a ring and Lil Pump raised his arms, ready for the worst. Paul didn’t hold back, unleashing a left to the body that sent the mumble rapper crashing to the canvas and yelling in pain.

“I told you not to do it!!” Paul quipped as Lil Pump continued wailing.

Questions surrounding Jake Paul’s fight with Mike Tyson continue to dominate headlines

Jake Paul is hoping for a similar result on July 20 when he returns to the boxing ring for a clash with former unified heavyweight world champion ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson. The bout is scheduled to emanate from the 80,000-seat AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas — home of the Dallas Cowboys. The fight will also air exclusively on Netflix to its 260 million subscribers around the world, marking the first time that the streaming giant broadcasts a live combat sports event.

Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson

Expected to be one of the most watched fights in combat sports history, the announcement of Paul vs. Tyson immediately earned criticism from pundits, the key issue being the massive age gap between the 27-year-old Paul and the 57-year-old Tyson.

Given the 30+ year difference between the two, many questions continue to surround the bout’s sanctioning. No official announcements have been made, but early rumors suggested that the two parties were aiming to have the contest sanctioned as a professional bout rather than an exhibition match.

However, a potential ruleset being passed around on social media claims that the matchup will be contested in 16-ounce gloves with two-minute rounds and no official judges. There would only be a winner if a KO or TKO occurred.

Whether or not any of that proves to be true is a different story.

Mike Tyson confirms July bout with Jake Paul is an exhibition bout this is a fight

Former world heavyweight boxing champion, Mike Tyson has confirmed his July boxing return against polarizing puncher, Jake Paul will be an official exhibition bout afterall – defending the pairing, despite reports claiming the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation were fielded a potential sanctioned professional fight in Arlington.

Tyson, a former world heavyweight champion and devastating knockout puncher, confirmed, along with Paul, their massive boxing fight in ‘The Lone Star State’ this summer last month – with the duo set to fight at the AT&T Stadium, with the bout broadcast on Netflix.

Sidelined from professional boxing since a 2005 knockout loss to Kevin McBride, Tyson competed in an exhibition bout against former cruiserweight champion, Roy Jones Jr. back in 2020 – fighting to a split decision draw in a bout scored by the WBC.

And revealing some more details on his fight with Paul this summer, Tyson claimed despite the booking of an exhibition bout in Texas, his clash with the Ohio youngster would be a real “fight”.

“Listen, this is called an exhibition,” Mike Tyson told Fox News. “But if you look up exhibition, you will not see any of the laws that we are fighting under. This is a fight.”

“You know, Sean (Hannity), I have a weird personality,” Mike Tyson explained. “I don’t think it’s weird though – whatever it is I’m afraid to do, I do it. I was scared for the Roy (Jones Jr.) fight – I was scared to fight the guy, I was 100 pounds overweight. I was, however, old, 54, 53, and I said, “et’s do it.’ Anything that I’m afraid of, I confront it. And that’s my personality. And right now, I’m scared to death. But as the fight gets closer, the less nervous I become, because it’s reality, and in reality I’m invincible.”

And following the confirmation of his fight with Paul, former world heavyweight champion, Tyson has opened as a large betting underdog to beat the Ohio upstart this summer in Texas.

Legendary pugilist ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson snapped back at critics claiming he’s too old to compete.

On Saturday, July 20, the former heavyweight titleholder will return to the squared circle for a clash with YouTube star Jake Paul. The bout will air live on Netflix — a first for the streaming juggernaut — and emanate from the 80,000-seat AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson

From the moment the bout was announced in March, pundits have focused heavily on the fact that by the time fight night rolls around, Tyson will be 58 years old, more than 30 years older than his opponent. During a recent interview with Reuters, Tyson attempted to quell the critics, making it clear that even at almost 60, he’s one of the sports’ biggest stars.

“I’m 58, and what? I’m getting billions of views from just talking about fighting,” Tyson said. “Everybody, even most of the athletes, they’re jealous… You couldn’t sell out an arena. Who at 58 can sell out an 80,000-seat arena? Why do you think he wants to fight me and not anybody else? All the boxers want to fight him. But if he fought them, the only people that will come are the people that like him. Their parents might not even come watch them.”

Fight Fans are eager to learn more about mike Tyson’s return to the ring

Thus far, no additional details regarding the fight have been announced. Specifically, whether or not it will be an exhibition match or a professional bout. If it proves to be the latter, it would be Tyson’s first since a 2005 loss to Kevin McBride.

In 2020, “the baddest man on the planet” competed in a charity scrap with Roy Jones Jr. which went to an eight-round draw. He has stayed active in the gym ever since. Paul featured on that same card, earning a second-round knockout against former NBA star Nate Robinson in the co-main event.

Tyson went 50-6 throughout his two-decade-long career, knocking out his first 19 opponents en route to capturing the WBC heavyweight title. He later added the WBA and IBF belts to his collection, reigning as the sport’s undisputed heavyweight world champion from 1987 to 1990.

As for Jake Paul, ‘The Problem Child’ will be gunning for his 10th career victory inside the ring. Overall, Paul is 9-1 with a majority of his wins coming against past-their-prime MMA stars, including Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley, Anderson Silva, and Nate Diaz. Paul goes into his fight with Mike Tyson riding back-to-back first-round KOs against a pair of no-name opponents, Andre August and Ryan Bourland, under his Most Valuable Promotions banner.

Chris Weidman calls for trilogy fight with Anderson Silva: 'Can he get some revenge on me?'

Chris Weidman likes the idea of completing his trilogy Anderson Silva.

On Saturday (March 30), the former middleweight world champion will return to the Octagon for just the second time since he suffered a horrifying leg break during his UFC 261 scrap with Uriah Hall. ‘All American’ came up short in his first fight back against Brad Tavares, but a big win over Bruno Silva at UFC Atlantic City could open up some opportunities for him.

However, with only two fights left on his contract, Weidman can’t help, but look at all the money being made by ex-MMA fighters inside the squared circle. Speaking with Daniel Cormier on the UFC Hall of Famer’s YouTube channel, Weidman suggested that a move from the cage to the ring may be the perfect opportunity to cash in and close out his trilogy with Anderson Silva.

“Listen, I love the UFC, I think I have two fights left on my deal, we’ll see. A big win over Bruno Silva this weekend, because of everything I’ve accomplished, could allot me some big opportunities inside the UFC,” Weidman said. “I love the UFC but obviously there’s boxing matches out there, where [I can] make a lot of money and I wouldn’t mind ending my career with that.

“I love boxing, actually, and who wouldn’t want to see Anderson Silva versus Chris Weidman boxing match? Can he get some revenge on me? So there’s some cool fights out there” (h/t MMA Mania).

Weidman and Silva met in back-to-back bouts in 2013, the first coming at UFC 162 when Weidman scored a second-round knockout against Silva, ending the Brazilian’s 17-fight win streak and taking the 185-pound crown in the process.

They would run it back five months later at UFC 168. There, Silva suffered his own devastating leg break after attempting to deliver a kick in round two. ‘The Spider’ returned a little more than a year later, but never fought his way back to a third meeting with Weidman.

Chris Weidman All-In on a boxing match with Jake Paul

Of course, when you’re talking bout MMA fighters stepping into the world of boxing, you can’t help but bring up Jake Paul. ‘The Problem Child‘ has practically built his entire combat sports career around fighting former UFC stars. Asked about a potential clash with the YouTuber turned boxer, Weidman would happily jump at the chance, though he’s unconvinced that Paul would actually accept the fight.

“I don’t know if he would,” Weidman said of Paul. “Obviously, that would be a big money fight for me. Everyone is dying for that fight. I would love that.”

On July 20, Jake Paul is scheduled to step inside the ring with former unified heavyweight world champion and “baddest man on the planet” Mike Tyson. The bout will air live on Netflix at no additional charge for its 260+ million subscribers around the world.
