Cruiserweight puncher, Jake Paul has predicted a knockout win over veteran former world heavyweight champion, Mike Tyson in their July boxing match in Texas – vowing to put the soon to be 58 year old veteran “to sleep” once and for all.

Paul, who most recently featured just earlier this month, turned in a one-sided victory over the overmatched, Ryan Bourland in Puerto Rico, stopping the former Golden Gloves winner with a blistering first round TKO win at the ropes.

As for Tyson, the former world heavyweight champion – who is revered as arguably the most formidable knockout artist in heavyweight boxing history, has yet to feature in the ring since he fought to a split draw with former multiple-weight champion, Roy Jones Jr. back in November 2020 – snapping a 15-year stay away from the sport.

“My sights are set on becoming a world champion, and now I have a chance to prove myself against the greatest heavyweight champion of the world, the baddest man on the planet and the most dangerous boxer of all time,” Jake Paul wrote. “Time to put ‘Iron’ Mike to sleep.”

Michael Bisping brands boxing star Jake Paul a bully he's disrespecting the sport of boxing

Former undisputed UFC middleweight champion and Hall of Fame inductee, Michael Bisping has laid into professional boxing star, Jake Paul a “bully” off the back of the Ohio native’s one-sided first round TKO win over Ryan Bourland over the course of the weekend, claiming the outspoken social media star is “disrespecting” the sport.

Bisping, a former undisputed middleweight champion and current color-commentator under the banner of the UFC, has further claimed that the 10-fight professional boxing veteran is “conning” his fans with his overmatched fight against former Golden Gloves champion, Bourland – before calling for a future fight with super middleweight kingpin, Canelo Alvarez.

“Jake Paul was always destined to win this fight [with Ryan Bourland] and you all are the suckers if you paid for this fight,” Michael Bisping said on his YouTube channel. “Now I know most people didn’t. Unfortunately, his opponent was utter dog-sh*t and couldn’t make it through one round. ‘How was he able to get it done?’ Oh, he’s just so good. He expected a second round but my God, the guy did it in round one.”

“… He (Jake Paul) is disrespecting the sport of boxing,” Bisping explained. “He is disrespecting all the people who worked their way up. But more importantly, he’s conning the fans. If Ryan Bourland is your next Uber driver, give him five stars and a good tip. Beating people you know you can beat, that’s called being a bully.”

Jake Paul talks potential MMA debut

Weighing up a quickfire comeback to the squared circle ahead of a potential mixed martial arts debut later this year, Ohio native, Paul has, however, ruled out the prospect of a future fight with former interim UFC lightweight champion, Tony Ferguson, first and foremost.

“Anyone who can get out of their [UFC] contract, I’ll fight,” Jake Paul told assembled media after his win over the weekend. “That’s easy work, as far as I am concerned. I do want to do a PFL MMA match – it just has to be the right opponent. But Nate (Diaz) did duck my $15,000,000 offer, so we’ll see who else is on the chopping block.

“Tony Ferguson? He said he wanted to fight? I don’t want to see him go out like that – that would be sad,” Jake Paul explained. “He’s a great guy. We don’t want that for Tony.”

Jake Paul shuts down MMA debut fight with Tony Ferguson I don't want to see him go out like that

Amid links to an expected professional mixed martial arts debut later this annum, off the back of his ninth professional boxing win over the course of last weekend, Jake Paul has immediately shut the door on a potential debut against former interim UFC lightweight champion, Tony Ferguson.

Paul, who improved to 9-1 as a professional boxer over the course of last weekend in San Juan, Puerto Rico, turned in a blistering opening round TKO win over the returning former Golden Gloves winner, Ryan Bourland.

The victory came as Ohio native, Paul’s third consecutively, following a December knockout of Andre Auguse, and a decision win over former UFC star, Nate Diaz back in August of last year in the Stockton native’s professional boxing debut.

And penning a multi-fight deal with the Peter Murray-led PFL (Professional Fighters League) last year ahead of an expected mixed martial arts with the North American-based organization, Paul has immediately stopped talk of a potential fight with the faltering Ferguson – claiming he would hate to see the Oxnard native “go out” against him.

In the midst of a record-setting seven-fight losing skid inside the Octagon, The Ultimate Fighter victor and former interim lightweight kingpin, Ferguson most recently dropped a decision loss to Paddy Pimblett at UFC 296 back in December.

Demetrious Johnson blasts Jake Paul for fighting easy opponents that guy was on a pizza route

Demetrious Johnson is not very happy about Jake Paul’s selection of opponents and recently sounded off with a strong message for the young Youtuber turned fighter.

Jake Paul has been professionally boxing for years now, as weird as it feels to say it. His brief but somewhat entertaining career has seen him go toe to toe with UFC legends like Anderson Silva and Nate Diaz, all the way to retired NBA players like Nate Robinson (whom Paul also dwarfs in size).

However, out of all of Jake Paul’s fights so far, only one has been against a young and hungry boxer in his prime (Tommy Fury). The other nine fights on Jake Paul’s resume are against either washed, rickety old men, or people who barely even qualify as an actual fighter in the first place (and in some cases, don’t). This is Demetrious Johnson’s problem with Paul, and he’s not the only person who feels this way.

Demetrious Johnson Opens up about his feelings towards Jake Paul and implores him to ramp up the quality of his competition

“He (Jake Paul) is evolving, don’t get me wrong.” Demetrious Johnson began. “But, what are you doing when you’re fighting these guys that you find off the street? Like I said before, when he fought Andre August, that gentleman was running pizza routes.”

“Go find somebody who’s 25-26 years old… that’s in the gym, that’s grinding, that’s hungry. Put yourself in the fire. Put yourself against top-level competition to build your credibility.”

Demetrious Johnson would later talk about the difference between fighting actual fighters and guys who barely qualify to go by such a term. In fact, Johnson even went as far as dismissing some of Paul’s fights as “not professional” which is a sentiment that seems to be shared by many.

Jake Paul welcomes light work fight with Ryan Garcia I'm a better boxer

Off the back of last night’s first round TKO win over Ryan Bourland in Puerto Rico, polarizing professional oxer, Jake Paul has warned former world championship holder, Ryan Garcia from chasing a fight with him in the future – claiming it would end badly for the 25-year-old.

Paul, who made his tenth professional walk to the squared circle overnight in San Juan, turned in a dominant opening round TKO win over the above-mentioned former Golden Gloves winner, the overmatched, Bourland.

And improving his winning spree to three consecutive fights, the Ohio native added Bourland to a string of wins over Andre August, and a decision shutout success against former UFC lightweight title challenger, Nate Diaz

Calling for a showdown with current super middleweight champion, Canelo Alvarez in the future, Paul was hit with a warning of his own from former interim WBC lightweight titleholder, Garcia – who vowed to put an end to the social media star’s fleeting boxing career once and for all.

“Okay enough, it’s on I’m going to have to do this!” Ryan Garcia posted on his official X account. “I’m going to end this JAKE PAUL BOXING THING. BRING IT ON JAKE I’M DEAD F*CKING SERIOUS F*CK YOU! HIT MY TEAM UP.”

Replying to Garcia’s offer of a future showdown, Paul claimed was an outright better boxer than the former world championship holder, describing a pairing as “light work”.

Jake Paul welcomes Ryan Garcia fight in the future

“Ryan (Garcia), I love you.” Jake Paul said after last night’s win. “You know that, bro. But you’ve got to chill out. Because there’s a line and you just seem like you’re losing your mind, and acting thirsty and desperate and saying you’re a billionaire when you had one money fight.”

“I’m just saying, just chill, bro,” Jake Paul continued. “But if you do want to fight, that’s, to me, light work. You’ve got no footwork. And as long as you’ve been in the game, I’m a better boxer than you.”
