Jorge Masvidal laughs at Jake Paul and Nate Diaz I would hurt them dudes

Former two-time UFC welterweight title challenger, Jorge Masvidal has scoffed at last month’s professional boxing match between the outspoken, Jake Paul, and his former mixed martial arts opponent, Nate Diaz, claiming he would “hurt” the pair if he switched to boxing.

Masvidal, a veteran former welterweight title challenger under the banner of the UFC, called time on his storied mixed martial arts career back in April following a co-main event slot at UFC 287, suffering a fourth consecutive loss in a decision defeat against Gilbert Burns.

Switching his sole focus to promoting with Gamebred FC in the time since, Masvidal had, however, weighed up a potential return to the Octagon at UFC 300 next year – in the form of a rematch with former-foe and ex-UFC contender, Ben Askren

Jorge Masvidal pokes fun at the ability of Jake Paul and Nate Diaz

And sharing his thoughts on August’s boxing showdown between Ohio native, Paul and ex-UFC contender, Diaz – which the former won in a rather one-sided unanimous judging win, Masvidal claimed he would simply “hurt” the pair if he boxed them.

“I get with the skill set, they’re not going to be boxers,” Jorge Masvidal told MMA Fighting. “They’re not going to move like boxers, because they’re not boxers by craft either. They could’ve been meaner. That’s why watching that fight live, I was like, ‘I’m mean for real, bro.’ A lot of the guys in boxing are for real.”

“I didn’t have the feeling when I left that night,” Jorge Masvidal explained. “I didn’t feel like they were trying to kill each other, you know? Or hurt each other, or apply the sweet science to it’s highest mastery. I would hurt those dudes, bro. Like bad. I was there live, I seen it, man. It’s a different speed. Nate’s seen it – you can ask Nate about the speed. If Jake was having trouble [with Diaz], you know what I’d do to Jake, man.”

Jake Paul three genders male female and mentally ill

Jake Paul suggested that any individual who does not identify as either male or female is suffering from a mental illness.

That’s the latest hot take from the social media star turned pro boxer weeks removed from his unanimous decision win over Nate Diaz. Jake Paul has carved out a career for himself in the squared circle by facing some of MMA’s biggest past-their-prime competitors. That includes former world champions Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley, and Anderson Silva.

Most recently, ‘The Problem Child’ stepped into the ring in The Lone Star State for a scrap with tenured UFC fan favorite Nate Diaz. The pair delivered a highly entertaining 10-round clash that ultimately saw Jake Paul secure his seventh career win as a pugilist.

Recently, Jake Paul stepped in the ring with livestreamer and fellow YouTube star Adin Ross and was asked a question that has been the subject of much debate in recent years. Paul was asked how many genders he believes there are. Instead of taking the high road, Paul opted to suggest that gender-nonconforming individuals are suffering from a mental illness by not identifying themselves as either male or female.

There’s three genders; male, female, and mentally ill,” Paul said with a laugh.

Ironically, ‘The Problem Child’ shared a positive message regarding equal rights on International Women’s Day earlier this year.

“Equal rights and equal actions,” Paul tweeted, “We must work towards getting rid of inequality and oppression. I stand with all efforts to make society treat everyone as equal.”

Perhaps those rights only apply to individuals who fall within Paul’s personal beliefs toward gender.

Jake Paul Echoed Khabib Nurmagomedov’s Opinion on Gender

Last month, UFC Hall of Famer Khabib Nurmagomedov made headlines when he also suggested that there are only two genders; male and female. He proceeded to tell a story regarding his confusion over non-gender-specific bathrooms before confirming his stance on the subject matter.

No matter which side of the fence you fall on, the debate over gender is likely not going anyway anytime soon.

Ex-UFC star Nate Diaz responds to Eddie Hearn’s criticism of Jake Paul fight: ‘Keep my name outta your mouth’

Nate Diaz snapped back at Eddie Hearn after the British boxing promoter had some harsh words about the former UFC star’s pro boxing debut earlier this month.

On August 5, Diaz stepped inside the squared circle for the first time to take on social media sensation Jake Paul. Emanating from American Airlines Center in Dallas, Diaz and Paul delivered an entertaining 10-round affair that ultimately saw ‘The Problem Child’ walk away with his seventh career victory via a decisive unanimous decision.

While a majority of fight fans were enthused by Paul’s performance and the mid-fight antics of Nate Diaz, not everyone was appreciative of the pair’s efforts. Specifically Eddie Hearn, who slammed the fight during an appearance on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani.

“It was awful, I’m watching that thinking ‘This is so bad’,” Hearn said. “The reason that Nate didn’t get stopped is because Jake doesn’t know how to break a fighter down, cut off the ring, beat him up, and stop him. But I give my props to Nate, super tough. But you’re talking about low, low level in terms of standard” (h/t MMA News).

Nate Diaz Issues a Warning to Eddie Hearn

Getting wind of Hearn’s comments, Nate Diaz snapped back on social media, suggesting that the boxing personality keep the Diaz name out of his mouth.

“Eddie Hearn I’ll beat all ur fighters a**es,” Diaz wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “Lightweight middleweight Heavyweights any weight all of them will get f*cked up. And unless it’s complimentary keep my name outta your mouth cause u might get it also. And fighters check your promoter so he doesn’t get u guys punked.”

Much to Eddie Hearn’s chagrin, Nate Diaz could potentially choose to strap on the 10-ounce gloves once more before making a return to the UFC. Considering the recent reports that his pay-per-view scrap with Jake Paul drew over 500,000 buys in the United States, nobody could blame both fighters for jumping into a rematch and cashing in on what they built in the Lone Star State.

Jake Paul’s boxing match with ex-UFC superstar Nate Diaz has proven to be a smashing success.

On August 5, ‘The Problem Child’ scored his seventh career win, earning a unanimous decision victory over Diaz in a highly entertaining 10-round clash inside the American Airlines Center in Dallas. Days removed from the contest, early reports indicated that the bout had done roughly 450,000 buys in the United States, doubling that of Paul’s February clash with British boxing standout Tommy Fury.

During a recent episode of his BS w/ Jake Paul podcast, the social media star revealed some of the numbers, claiming that the bout did more than half a million buys in the U.S. alone whilst also being the biggest gate for a fight in Paul’s brief, but successful boxing career.

“It’s looking like 500,000+ pay-per-views,” Paul revealed. “The biggest gate, and that’s U.S. pay-per-views. It means more because it costs more in the U.S. So a massive number, massive success. There’s a statistic that shows the Google searches from that night. We were the number one most searched Google trend by like 10x. Trended everywhere. Biggest gate. Biggest ticket sales. Biggest sponsorship.”

With the fight costing $59.99 on the U.S. market, the bout is said to have generated roughly $30 million, not including ticket sales and sponsorship deals.

With numbers like that, it’s no wonder why Jake Paul is pushing hard for Nate Diaz to sign on the dotted line for a rematch in mixed martial arts. ‘The Problem Child’ announced a deal earlier this year with the Professional Fighters League, with the goal being to make his own MMA debut in 2024. No official opponent has been announced, but Paul has been targeting Diaz for a proposed rematch inside the PFL Smart Cage, offering the former Ultimate Fighter winner a massive $10 million payday.

Jake Paul clarifies his opinion of Dana White, hopes to see UFC raise minimum fighter pay to $50,000

Jake Paul

Jake Paul made it clear that he holds no ill will toward UFC President Dana White, but stands by his comments that the promotion should be paying its fighters a fair wage based on the billions the company brings in every year.

Over the last couple of years, ‘The Problem Child’ has taken repeated jabs at White while attempting to advocate for a higher share of the revenue for UFC fighters. Despite this, White revealed that he has no animosity for Jake Paul, suggesting that the social media star was just looking for a little attention.

“I don’t f*cking hate Jake Paul,” White said during an episode of Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson. “Jake Paul is one of those guys that he’s a young kid, and he’s just trying to get attention. He’s always looking for attention and, he’s doing his thing. Whatever – it’s all good.”

During his own appearance on the Mike Tyson-led podcast, Jake Paul echoed similar sentiments, saying that he does not hate Dana White, but believes the root cause of their dispute often devolves into name-calling and petty accusations which takes away from the conversation he’s trying to have.

“I don’t hate him, either,” Paul said. “I just want him to pay fighters more. Now that the company is making billions of dollars a year and the fighters are only getting 15 percent of it, that’s really where all of it stems from is wanting higher fighter pay and long-term healthcare for the fighters. Obviously, we’ve gotten into these exchanges that muddies the purpose of why I’ve argued with him. He throws out, ‘The fights are rigged, he’s on steroids,’ then I say something about him being bald and ugly.”

Adding to his comments, Jake Paul believes that raising the UFC’s minimum pay would ensure that every fighter is financially secure, preventing some from working second jobs or going deep in debt to pay fees associated with their training.

“I don’t know him as a person,” Paul said. “I don’t know how he is. I just think that the fighter minimum in the UFC is $12,500, it should be at $50,000. If they made it $50,000 that would change the smaller fighters’ lives in a big, big, big, big way. They wouldn’t have to work other jobs, they could afford gym fees, they could afford the proper food” (h/t MiddleEasy).

Perhaps the most glaring example as of late is African-born fighter Themba Gorimbo who revealed that going into his second fight with the UFC that he had little more than $7 in his bank account. Gorimbo was forced to rely on other fighters to help him with food during fight week, a sad reality for an athlete signed to one of the most profitable sports organizations in the world.

Of course, Gorimbo ultimately got some help from the most electrifying man in sports entertainment, The Rock. But the UFC can’t rely on The People’s Champ to help every fighter out of poverty whilst the company’s top dogs continue to line their pockets with record-breaking profits year after year.

Conor McGregor’s ‘biggest fan’ Ian Garry signs with Jake Paul: ‘What they have has nothing to do with me’

Despite claiming to be Conor McGregor’s biggest fan, Irish standout Ian Garry has signed a deal with Jake Paul.

On Saturday night, ‘The Future’ will look to continue his meteoric rise up the welterweight rankings when he faces tenured 170-pounder Neil Magny as part of the promotion’s stacked UFC 292 card in Boston. Originally, Garry was scheduled to square off with Geoff Neal, but a last-minute shuffle interjected Neal into the contest.

Ahead of his highly anticipated return to the Octagon, Ian Garry appeared on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani to talk about his upcoming clash with the ‘Haitian Sensation’ at TD Garden. During their conversation, ‘The Future’ also spoke about his deal with Betr, a media company owned by staunch Conor McGregor rival, Jake Paul.

Asked how he could go into business with Jake Paul despite being a massive self-proclaimed fan of Conor McGregor, Garry said:

“I am Conor’s biggest fan. I am literally the first fighter of a generation to make it to the UFC because of Conor’s rise. What they wanna do and what they have and their personal beef has nothing to do with it. If you have two friends that don’t get on, if you have two people that know they don’t get on, you can still be friends with both. You can still do business with both, you can still talk to both, you can still go to both of their houses and have dinner. What they have has nothing to do with me. That’s called being an adult” (h/t MMA News).

Conor McGregor Training Logan Paul’s Next Opponent

Conor McGregor has had a very open rivalry with ‘The Problem Child’ and his older brother, Logan Paul. The elder Paul is currently scheduled to square off with McGregor’s friend and BJJ coach Dillon Danis at an event in England this October. Discussing the bout over the weekend, McGregor revealed that he would be coaching Danis ahead of his clash with Logan Paul. That prompted Paul to call out McGregor, challenging him to lay down $1 million on the outcome.

McGregor has yet to respond, but given Danis’ lack of skills on the feet and the Irishman’s poor turn as a coach on the current season of The Ultimate Fighter, one would advise McGregor to keep his money.
