After Nate Diaz failed to secure a victory over Jake Paul in their highly entertaining boxing match on Saturday night, the Stockton Samurai’s older brother, Nick Diaz, offered to step up and fight ‘The Problem Child’ or his WWE Superstar brother, Logan Paul.

Nate Diaz came up short on the scorecards after 10 exciting rounds of action that saw Diaz deliver his signature style of striking and taunting. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to sway the judges in his favor and Diaz lost via a unanimous decision. With a reported rematch clause in their fight contract, it’s possible that Nate Diaz could once again mix it up with Jake Paul inside the squared circle. That is if his big brother doesn’t snatch up the opportunity first.

Appearing inside the American Airlines Center for Saturday night’s festivities, Nick Diaz offered up some thoughts on the bout during a post-fight interview and, in his own unique way, said everything while essentially saying nothing.

Will Jake Paul Pick Off Big Brother Nick Diaz Before Making His Move to MMA?

The gist of it is that Nick Diaz is more than willing to step up and strap on the eight-ounce gloves for a showdown with one Paul brother, or both Paul brothers. “I’m still a harder worker than anybody out here. In this day and age,” Diaz said.

Like his younger brother, Nick Diaz carved out a career for himself with his brash attitude and heavy offensive style of fighting. Unfortunately, his career in mixed martial arts was nothing short of middling, going 7-7 with one no-contest inside the Octagon and 26-10 overall. After a six-year absence from the promotion, Diaz returned at UFC 266 and was essentially beaten into submission by UFC Hall of Famer ‘Ruthless’ Robbie Lawler.

Nick Diaz has remained insistent that he will return to the Octagon one day, but perhaps Jake Paul will choose to take out big brother before turning his attention toward a highly anticipated MMA debut with the Professional Fighters League in 2024.

Jake Paul and Nate Diaz have been making up for lost time as their highly anticipated clash inside the squared circle quickly approaches.

In recent months, fans have noticed a substantial lack of hype regarding Diaz’s pro boxing debut on Saturday night inside Dallas’ American Airlines Center. However, things took a quick turn on Thursday after members of each man’s team got into a scuffle that could lead to some legal ramifications.

Things only escalated from there when the infamous Derek from Betr Media once again made his presence known at a pre-fight press event by trash-talking Nate Diaz, leading to an expletive-filled rant by the Stockton Samurai.

With only one more sleep until the two men finally go toe-to-toe, both fighters made their final staredown a memorable one with some hand fighting followed by a kick from the mixed martial arts superstar.

Who Comes Out on Top Between Jake Paul and Nate Diaz?

Jake Paul goes into the bout with a solid 6-1 record in professional boxing, though most of his victories have come against ex-UFC standouts, including Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley, and Anderson ‘The Spider’ Silva. ‘The Problem Child’ finally stepped into the ring against another legitimate boxer, Tommy Fury, in February and suffered his first career loss, coming up on the wrong side of a split decision. Now Paul is going back to the well in hopes of earning another win over a mixed martial arts superstar.

As for Nate Diaz, the Stockton native will be making his pro boxing debut after competing inside the Octagon for 15 years. During his run, Diaz went 16-11 under the UFC banner, 21-13 overall. Despite the middling record, Diaz quickly rose up as a fan favorite thanks to his heavy offensive styles and no f*cks given attitude.

Legendary pugilist Roy Jones Jr. wouldn’t blame Nate Diaz for taking a shot at the absolute joke that is Derek from Betr Media.

On Thursday, Derek once again proved himself to be a giant boyle on the a** of combat sports media by using his opportunity to be part of the festivities as a way to get himself over like a pro wrestler going off-script. Derek made his presence known earlier this year during a May press event and immediately got on the Stockton native’s bad side when he took a dig at both Diaz brothers.

“Nate, I’m actually a boxer myself and I’ve been trying to get into this undercard,” Derek said. “I’m just wondering if you think I could fight your brother, Nick, because if he’s anything like you I think I’d beat his f*cking ass.”

Unfortunately, Derek managed to get himself into Thursday’s pre-fight press conference and once again went into business for himself by attacking Nate Diaz in a most unprofessional manner.

“I’m sorry that your feelings were hurt,” Derek said in regards to their first encounter. “Maybe if your boys see me, maybe they won’t f*ck me up this week. Anything to say Nate? Can’t wait to watch Jake knock you the f—k out.”

The entire encounter was clearly orchestrated by Jake Paul in order to get a response out of Nate Diaz. In that regard, it was 100% effective, but it was nevertheless a classless move by all parties involved and only serves to make members of the media and the next generation of combat sports athletes look that much more pathetic.

Roy Jones Jr. Responds to Troll at Jake Paul vs. Nate Diaz Press Conference

In an interview with TheMACLife, boxing icon Roy Jones Jr. was fired up looking back on the incident and suggested that if it had happened to him during his heyday, he would have made every effort to put his hands on the man that intentionally disrespected him to chase a little bit of clout.

“Come in and be respectful or you shouldn’t be allowed to come in,” Jones Jr. said. “So for guys like that, if you didn’t respect me from the press conference, he should be escorted out and not allowed to be in the press conference again. He better not show his face again because if he does, they should… Dude’s disrespectful. If it were me, I would tell my people to let me get to him because I wanna bust him in his damn mouth. You got so much to say, let me see you defend yourself.”

As for how Jones Jr. sees Nate Diaz fairing in his pro boxing debut, the multi-time world champion believes it will all come down to defense.

“Nate’s gonna do good. Really it’ll just be about how long can he last,” Jones Jr. said. “Can he take Jake’s punch and how much [punishment] can he handle? He’s a real good fighter. He’s a very good striker so if he has good defense… All I’m worried about is his defense. Offensively he’s great. I know he can fight offensive because he’s sparred with some of the best. He’s been around the game. He’s one of the best strikers in MMA. So I know he can strike. But in boxing, because we got gloves, it’s about also what can you take.”
