Jake Paul Carl Froch Boxing Fight

Former WBC super middleweight champion, Carl Froch has issued a chilling warning to the undefeated, Jake Paul – offering to fight the Ohio native and promises to send him into “f*cking orbit”.

Froch, who defeated Jean Pascal to clinch the undisputed WBC super middleweight crown back in 2008, capped his gold laden career in the midst of a five fight winning run.

Securing a unanimous decision victory over Mikkel Kessler, Froch would improve to 33-2 as a professional with back-to-back wins over Georges Groves in WBA middleweight title fights before retiring in 2014.

Carl Froch addresses potential fight with Jake Paul

Finding himself on the radar of the unbeaten 6-0 Paul this weekend, ahead of the farmer’s fight against Tommy Fury in Saudi Arabia, Froch offered to fight Paul should he dispatch the Manchester native.

Jake Paul called me out on his social media, apparently, he wants to fight me, Carl Froch posted on his Twitter. “Listen, just in case you didn’t know, my last fight was at Wembley Stadium in front of 80,000 fans.

I won’t be fighting the mixed martial arts legend, Anderson Silva on your undercard, I’ve got too much respect for him,” Froch said. “And your punch when you boxed him – did that even land? Very dubious.

Anyway, you’ve got a job to do against Tommy Fury. If by some miracle you manage to beat Tommy Fury, then I’ll listen to you, have a little chat with you, see what garbage comes out of your mouth,…” Froch explained. ‘But until then, don’t talk about me in the same league as you.

I’m a four time world champion – two WBC titles here,” Froch continued. “You’ll never, ever have one of them. You’re not good enough. You’re not a professional fighter. You’re a performing clown. So keep my name out of your mouth until you’ve done something in the game.

I think this [Sunday] your world ends,” Carl Froch said. “But if it doesn’t, and you are stupid enough to take a fight with me, when this right hand lands in your chin, it will put you into f*cking orbit and knock that stupid barnet off the top of your head.” (Transcribed by Boxing Social)

Jake Paul

Social media influencer turned boxer Jake Paul will finally take on Love Island star Tommy Fury, who also happens to be the younger half-brother of Tyson Fury, in a catchweight of 185lbs, scheduled for eight rounds.

Both men hold undefeated records, although neither man has a win over a notable opponent, in the realm of boxing at least. Jake Paul has made a name for himself by taking on a number of prominent names from the world of MMA. Most recently, he defeated former UFC middleweight champion, Anderson Silva, in his highest profile bout to date.

The Problem Child’ also holds back to back wins over former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, as well as a 1st round KO finish over Ben Askren. Stoppage victories over former NBA player Nate Robinson and fellow YouTuber Ali Eson Gib make up the remainder of Jake Paul’s 6-0 record.

On the other hand, Tommy Fury (8-0-0) has been fighting boxers, but only Daniel Bocianski is of any note. Bocianski entered the fight with a 10-1 record, and was relatively soundly defeated by Fury. His other opponents include the likes of Callum Ide 0-26-2), Scott Williams (0-9-0) and Przemyslaw Binienda (2-26-0). TNT’ also followed Paul’s route in taking on names from the world of MMA, having faced off against former Bellator fighter, Antony ‘Pretty Boy’ Taylor.

After huge amount of trash talk, canceled bouts, and controversy, Jake Paul and Tommy Fury will finally face off this weekend. Betway currently have Jake Paul lined as a -150 favorite, with Fury sitting as a +110 underdog.

Jake Paul may have a relatively high KO rate, but that has typically been against smaller opponents, such as Askren who competed in MMA at 170lbs. Against Fury, he will be facing an opponent who is essentially the same size as him. As a result, ‘The Problem Child’ will not have the same power advantage that he had in bouts such as the Askren fight. If you agree with this assessment, then taking Jake Paul to win by decision may be your best bet. Betway have this prop lined at +200.

Alternatively, if you fancy Tommy Fury to end the Jake Paul ‘hype train’ once and for all, ‘TNT’ to win by KO/TKO is priced at an enticing +260.

Who are you taking? Jake Paul or Tommy Fury?

Jake Paul calls out former boxing champion, with bizarre Anderson Silva-related clause

Jake Paul , Carl Froch , Anderson Silva

Jake Paul may be currently trying to gain his first victory over a professional boxer this weekend as he takes on a reality star with fighting in his blood Tommy Fury, but he has set his sights on a much more accomplished veteran of the squared circle.

Carl Froch is a former super-middleweight world champion, best known for selling out Wembley alongside George Groves. 33-2 as a professional, he retired following back-to-back wins over the aforementioned Groves in one of the biggest domestic doubles in history.

You would think this would entitle Froch to a fight with a YouTuber, but not according to Jake Paul. He would instead have Froch fight a former opponent of his, as well as a UFC legend in Anderson Silva, of course on one of his undercards. Froch, from England, is 45 years old, and 8 years removed from any kind of sanctioned fighting. Nevertheless, he would most certainly be Paul’s most skillful challenger to date. Paul though seems more focused on how much better he is doing in comparison to Groves.

Jake Paul Picks Silva Over Froch

Carl Froch is mad because I made more in 1 year than he made his whole career. You want the payday. I get it.” Paul Tweeted. Jake Paul seems confident that Sliva would be more than a handful for Froch, and even expects Silva to be the probable winner.

You want the payday. I get it. So let’s do this, fight Anderson Silva on my next card, and if you get lucky and beat him, then we can step in the ring and you make your career payday. Let me know.

Although at first glance, Jake Paul seems to have misplaced confidence in Silva. After remembering his Julio Cesar Chavez Jr win though, it may not be as delusional a take as initially thought. He followed up the initial tweet by highlighting the level of Froch’s opponents at the same stage of their boxing careers. They of course, due to the source, come out favorably for “The Problem Child”.

Who do you have should the bout come to fruition, Jake Paul or Carl Froch?

WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman has recently gone on record stating that if Jake Paul defeats Tommy Fury in their eight-round affair coming up on February 26, he will be ranked in the cruiserweight division of the WBC rankings.

We’ve got quote from each Sulaiman and Paul regarding the WBC’s choice to potentially rank the YouTube-boxing sensation, both men of which were interviewed by Sky Sports.

First, we’ll start with the WBC President:

“Jake Paul has been close to the WBC for several years, starting with the first event promoted in the UK when his brother, Logan, fought KSI. On that night Jake won the WBC amateur belt in the undercard fights.

“Jake has dedication and respect to the sport and the WBC will not tolerate discrimination against anyone. He deserves the opportunities that any other boxer has. He demonstrated punching power and improved skills as well as a solid chin. Tommy Fury represents a clear challenge to Paul in a battle of two undefeated professional boxers.”

Jake Paul then stated the following in his interview:

“I want to become a world champion. I’m going to become a world champion, and these fights are all just stepping stones to get there.

“I’m slowly improving. I’ve sparred against world champions and done phenomenal against them, so who knows what can happen in two to three years from now when I go into my athletic prime?

“I’m starting to really, really get this sport and all aspects of it. It’s really actually scary what could possibly happen. I think not only will I become a world champion, I think I will be a dominant world champion and knock someone out for the belt.”

This would really be something. Did anyone think Jake Paul could’ve come this far? He isn’t ranked yet, but this will probably come as a shock to most.
