Jorge Masvidal reveals UFC vetoed Jake Paul we're not going to let you make money with this guy

Jorge Masvidal wanted to box Jake Paul but ‘Gamebred’ says the UFC wouldn’t allow him to do so.

Masvidal and Paul have not seen eye-to-eye since the two trained together ahead of ‘The Problem Child’s’ fight against Ben Askren. In 2021, Paul claimed he had a five million dollar offer for Masvidal for the two to box, but ‘Gamebred’ was locked into his UFC contract.

Jorge Masvidal backed to succeed in Boxing move he's gonna surprise people UFC

However, with Masvidal now out of his UFC contract and taking boxing fights, many thought a fight would happen. But, speaking on The MMA Hour, Jorge Masvidal revealed why the boxing match hasn’t happened.

“I’ll address this little coward right now because I know he’s watching this s*** like a little creep. This little pervert creep be peeping on your show, brother. Listen [Jake], the UFC doesn’t like your b**** a**. Dana White, don’t like your b**** a**. Obviously, Hunter Campbell doesn’t like your b**** a**. They said, ‘We’re not going to let you make money with this guy,’ because at the end of the day, we’re partners. Me and Nate, we’re going to make money right now,” Masvidal said.

Jorge Masvidal confirms he's unretired from MMA sends fans into raptures about UFC return

Jorge Maasvidal says the UFC is letting him box, so he does still have to get the promotion’s approval. According to ‘Gamebred’ with White and the UFC not liking Paul it ruled out a potential boxing match between the two.

“Jake don’t sell like Logan. The UFC allowed me to do some boxing matches, but Jake had said some unpleasant things about Dana White and also about the UFC. So the UFC basically said, ‘F*** you, we’re not going to let you go get money with someone who is not the biggest draw.’ I can fight Logan Paul, but Jake Paul’s an a**,” Jorge Masvidal added.

Jorge Masvidal set to box Nate Diaz

Instead of boxing Jake Paul, Jorge Mavidal will be rematching Nate Diaz on June 1, but this time it will be in the boxing ring.

Masvidal and Diaz first met in MMA for the inaugural BMF title back at UFC 244 in 2019, with ‘Gamebred’ winning by doctor stoppage. The two will now be having their rematch in boxing, after Diaz made his boxing debut last year, which he lost by decision to Jake Paul.

Masvidal vs. Diaz 2 is set to take place at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California.

Jorge Masvidal calls for 'easy' UFC comeback fight against Justin Gaethje: 'He just got flatlined'

After the events of UFC 300, Jorge Masvidal remains adamant that Justin Gaethje would be an “easy fight” for him.

Putting his BMF title on the line for the very first time, Gaethje went to war with former featherweight champion Max Holloway. Suffering a broken nose in the early going, ‘The Highlight’ struggled to find his target for much of the 24:59 affair. With time winding down, Holloway called for the two men to stand in the center and throw hands until the final horn.

Gaethje vs. Holloway

Gaethje obliged and suffered the consequences, eating a booming overhand right that sent him crashing to the canvas with one second left on the clock.

Max Holloway KOs Justin Gaethje

Appearing on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, the promotion’s first-ever BMF champion once again suggested that Gaethje would make for the perfect opponent should ‘Gamebred’ decide to give it one more go inside the Octagon.

“I don’t want to talk too much sh*t since he just got f*cking flatlined, but I’m hoping our paths cross in the UFC, you know, cause this would be, like, a very good comeback fight for me, easy fight for me,” Masvidal said. He’s literally just walking forward, eating shots, no head movement. No nothing.

“It’s nothing personal, but I would definitely love to bust f*cking Gaethje’s face up. I’ll let him heal up from this because he might never come back the same because that was a war that he went through and on top of that, he got f*cking executed. Gaethje can say whatever he wants. I don’t really give f*ck about it, but if our paths ever cross, I’ll light that motherf*cker up.”

Jorge Masvidal questions how much life justin gaethje has left

After suffering such a brutal knockout, Masvidal can’t help, but question how much the 35-year-old Gaethje has left to give inside the Octagon.

“Gaethje always finds a way to come back, put on great shows, and keep fucking winning. But this one was bad,” Masvidal said of Gaethje. “He was out for a good amount of time, like two minutes, and when they sat him up he was still visibly hurt. I hope he makes a full recovery and comes back to the sport stronger than ever, but you just don’t know when you take a knockout like that…

“It wasn’t just that, it was a lot of abuse to the body. I thought Gaethje got the short end of the stick and got more of the abuse, and his nose too…this fight might’ve taken a lot of years out of Gaethje.”

Fortunately, Gaethje appeared to be in good spirits a few short hours after the devastating setback.

What’s next for ‘The Highlight’ remains to be seen, but as for Holloway, a featherweight title clash with reigning champion Ilia Topuria appears to be the next logical step.

UFC 300's Justin Gaethje snaps back at 'Fat' Jorge Masivdal over BMF title dig: 'He is so irrelevant'

Justin Gaethje has no interest in listening to anything Jorge Masvidal has to say — particularly when it comes to the BMF title.

On Saturday night (April 13), Gaethje will return to the Octagon as part of a loaded UFC 300 card in Las Vegas. There, the UFC’s baddest motherf*cker will put his bragging rights belt on the line against Dana White’s all-time favorite featherweight, Max Holloway.

Upon hearing news of the clash between Gaethje and Holloway, Masvidal — the promotion’s first-ever BMF titleholder — suggested that the UFC book a unification match of sorts between himself and Gaethje. When ‘The Highlight’ promptly shot down the idea, ‘Gamebred’ snapped back, threatening to break the lightweight’s orbital.

“If you put BMF against BMF, if you put me against Gaethje in there, I would break his f*cking eye orbital, and I would f*cking chop him up,” Masvidal said in an exclusive interview with LowKick MMA.

Justin Gaethje slams Jorge Masvidal in scathing response

Earlier this week, UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier caught up with Gaethje ahead of his BMF title tilt with Holloway. Asked about Masvidal’s comments, ‘The Highlight’ didn’t hold anything back in his response.

“The only orbital he got broken is his against Kamaru [Usman] and I loved to see it,” Gaethje said. “He f*cking cheap-shotted Colby Covington and didn’t break his orbital.”

“Nothing was more special than seeing all that mist come off his face when f*cking Kamaru put a hole through it,” he added.

He’s fat as f*ck. I fight at 155 pounds, so he can f*ck off.”

Masvidal won the BMF belt at UFC 244, defeating Nate Diaz via a doctor’s stoppage TKO following the third round. ‘Gamebred’ would go on to lose his next four fights before exiting the promotion to pursue a career in boxing.

Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz

On Saturday, June 1, Masvidal will run it back with Diaz inside the squared circle at a pay-per-view event in Inglewood, Cali.

Jorge Masvidal predicts stoppage win over Nate Diaz in June boxing fight I stop him in two rounds

Former UFC welterweight Jorge Masvidal is fired up ahead of his boxing match against Nate Diaz.

After some uncertainty, the rematch between Masvidal and Diaz, this time taking place in the boxing ring, is official and will take place on June 1 at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles. The bout is set to be a 10-rounder and will be set at the pugilistic light-heavyweight limit of 175lbs.

Nate Diaz set to fight Jorge Masvidal in boxing rematch in Inglewood on June 1

The pair previously fought for the BMF title in the main event slot of UFC 244 back in late 2019. Jorge Masvidal would handily win the contest, dropping and hurting Diaz on multiple occasions before the fight was called off due to cuts.

Since then, the pair have parted ways with the UFC and have begun to test the waters of boxing. Diaz fought, and lost, to Jake Paul last August and Masivdal has been interest in the switch for some months now. While the pair are now entering the very latter stages of their careers, Masvidal at least appears to be taking the fight very seriously.

Appearing on The MMA Hour, ‘Gamebred’ promised a violent affair when the pair meet in a few month’s time.

“I want to murder this guy,” Jorge Masvidal began. “And it’s nothing personal with him, but I want to beat the f****** brakes off him. He always said that the referee saved me. I don’t think anybody with common sense would agree. So I think this fight right here puts an end to all that bulls***.

“I’m going to be in the best shape of my life,” he continued. “I know he’s going to be in the best shape of his life — it’s not like he’s fighting Jake Paul and he’s coming up off the couch. He knows that if he’s not in shape, I’m going to make him look bad and I’ll get him out of there in two rounds.

Masvidal continued, urging Diaz to get in the gym and get in shape ahead of their fight, unless he wants to get seriously hurt.

“He knows with me you’ve got to die every day in the gym to maybe step in that ring and have a fighting chance,” Masvidal said. “Because I don’t play that s**t, man. I’m trying to kill this motherf****r, and he knows it personally. He has the scars to prove it. He sees them things every day in the mirror when he looks at it and knows, ‘This guy is going to try to f*****g kill me, bro.’ So Nate, get your ass in shape because I’m coming to break your f*****g face, brother.”

And slated to make his retirement-snapping comeback on June 1. this year in Inglewood, California, Masvidal is set to headline a pay-per-view event against The Ultimate Fighter winner, Diaz in a 175 pound light heavyweight rematch over the course of 10 rounds.

Previewing his second professional clash with Diaz, Masvidal described the former lightweight championship challenger as a “dead man walking” into their summer re-run inside the squared circle.

“Nate’s (Diaz) a dead man walking,” Jorge Masvidal said in a press release obtained by LowKick MMA. “I can’t wait to prove that last time [UFC 244] was no fluke. He got saved by the referee. Now, we are boxing, which he says is his forte, but he’s got no shot at beating me. I’m not going to give him an inch in that ring to even breathe.”

“If he thought our MMA match was bad, this is going to be much worse,” Jorge Masvidal explained. “I’m going to drown him. I want to put away any talk that he and I are the same, or that the referee saved the day. All of that talk ends June 1. Violence and throwing hands are in both of our blood, but as I proved before, I’m a far superior athlete and I’m a meaner fighter. When June 1. comes, I’ll put all unanswered questions to rest, live for the world to see.”

Making his professional boxing debut back in 2005, Masvidal turned in a majority decision win over Joseph Benjamin over the course of four rounds.
