MMA manager Ali Abdelaziz says his client and rising UFC star Khamzat Chimaev would beat former dual-weight champion Conor McGregor so bad the Irishman would end up in a wheelchair and in need of medical assistance for the rest of his life.

Ali Abdelaziz’s comments come after Chimaev stretched his undefeated record to 9-0 at UFC Vegas 11 this past weekend. The 26-year-old needed just 17 seconds and one punch to flatten long-time UFC middleweight Gerald Meerschaert.

Chimaev was lined up to face Demian Maia next but UFC president said the Swedish fight may take another bout before that. Abdelaziz was quick to rule out McGregor who he believes would come to serious harm if he stepped into the Octagon with Chimaev

“Khamzat would put Conor McGregor in a wheelchair, and he would drink from a straw for the rest of his life,” Abdelaziz told TMZ Sports.

“I’m not looking for Khamzat to fight a mentally unstable fighter. Conor McGregor is mentally unstable. I wish him the best of luck. Khamzat would kill him. He would really kill him.”

So who’s next for the UFC prospect? Who knows, but according to Abdelaziz even the best guys wouldn’t stand a chance against his man.

“Nate Diaz, (Jorge) Masvidal, some of these guys, I think he’d mop the floor with them too. I think he’ll beat the shit out of these guys. These guys are a little bit older, they’re veterans, they’re great fighters, but I think they’re levels to this.”

Khamzat Chimaev proved he was more than just a Khabib Nurmagomedov clone this past weekend.

Chimaev took on Gerald Meerschaert on the main card of UFC Vegas 11 on Saturday night in what was his third fight in just two months since debuting for the promotion.

There was a lot of intrigue in this particular fight as Meerschaert was a submission specialist and a clear step up from Chimaev’s previous opponents.

In the end, it didn’t matter as “The Wolf” needed just 17 seconds to deliver a statement first-round knockout that went viral. Unlike his previous two fights, which were maulings on the ground, Chimaev showed he could strike and had legitimate knockout power too.

The main goal? To show that he is his own fighter and not just another version of Nurmagomedov.

“Yeah because everybody say, ‘You are Khabib, Khabib No. 2,’ something like that – but I am Khamzat,” Chimaev said at the UFC Vegas 11 post-fight press conference (via MMA Fighting). “I can knock out people. Smash the people. Everything. I have everything.”

It certainly makes Chimaev an even more dangerous foe for future opponents as he plans on becoming a two-division champion in the future. Given how he’s going, it wouldn’t be a surprise at this rate.

John McCarthy Rips The UFC For Using ‘Fake Stats’ To Hype Khamzat Chimaev

Veteran referee John McCarthy has let rip at the UFC for using “fake stats” to promote their latest star, Khamzat Chimaev during the UFC Vegas 11 broadcast. Chimaev improved his undefeated record to 9-0 when he wiped out middleweight veteran Gerald Meerschaert in just 17 seconds on the night’s main card.

UFC presenter Megan Olivi suggested that by beating Meerschaert, Chimaev had reached three wins inside the Octagon quicker than any other fighter ever. Of course, we all know that isn’t true. Royce Gracie famously defeated three men in one night to emerge victorious at UFC 1 and that was something McCarthy was keen to point out on fight night.

“Sorry UFC & Megan Olivi but to say if Khamzat Chimaev gets a win tonight he sets a record for fastest time to win 3 fights in the UFC??? How about a guy named Royce Gracie who did it in 1 night at UFC 1 and then 4 more at UFC 2. Fake stats. The kid is great, but don’t forget the old guys.” McCarthy wrote on social media.

The retired referee explained his frustrations with the UFC on the latest episode of the Weighing In Podcast with Josh Thomson.

“The only bad thing in this is, and I get it, the UFC is trying to push him (Chimaev), and I don’t blame them,” McCarthy said. “He is a stud. OK, this guy is a stud. But the first thing they (the UFC) say before the fight is ‘if he wins this one he is the first one to win three fights the fastest in UFC’. And I am just like – come on man. You’ve got better stats to come up with than fake stats.”

“There used to be tournaments, OK. People can say whatever they want about old guys, new guys, modern era or pioneer thing. But look, the UFC was set up on guys were fighting three fights a night. Then four fights, and then it all went back to three fights for a long time. Then it was two fights a night. So why are you trying to come up with bullshit stats that mean nothing?” (Transcribed by BJPENN.com)

Do you agree with John McCarthy? Is the UFC trying to ignore the old guard by spouting “fake stats”?

In Chimaev’s post fight press conference he was very vocal on his plans for the future by talking about potential matchups against the Welterweight champion Kamaru Usman and Middleweight king Israel Adesanya. (H/T MMAJunkie)

Chimaev was asked if he’s ready for a crack at the title Chimaev responded “Of course! Why not? I did hard work for that. I’m ready. Both divisions.” Chimaev also claims he’s gonna stop both champions, “If I do my hard work, nobody’s a challenge for me, I’m going to stop both guys.”

Dana White also revealed that they were also booking Chimaev against Demian Maia for a fight later that year, when asked about his proposed fight vs Maia, he was excited to for the test against one of the best grapples in UFC history. “He’s the best ‘jitser’ in MMA. If I stop him, choke him out, I’m the best ‘jitser’ in MMA!” he said. “Like I said to Dana, if you give me Demian Maia, I am ready for him. If you give me Brock Lesnar, I am ready for him, also.”

In Chimaev’s first two fights in the octagon he took his opponents down and stopped both of them, which led fans to draw comparisons between him and the undisputed Lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, however Chimaev disagrees, he said “Everybody says, ‘You’re Khabib. Khabib No. 2,’ something like that. But I am Khamzat, I can knock out people, submit the people, smash the people, everything. I have everything.”

Chimaev is looking for a quick turnaround and wants a another fight quickly and due to his impressive performance vs Meerschaert, UFC president Dana White admitted they could look to book Chimaev a fight before he fights Demian Maia and keep him active inside the octagon.
