Matt Brown apparently has it out for longtime rapper Snoop Dogg.

A longtime veteran of the UFC’s talented welterweight division, ‘The Immortal’ recently staved off retirement with a beautiful elbow knockout of Diego Sanchez last November. The win snapped a three-fight streak of stoppage losses, and he’s now headed for a match-up with Carlos Condit in what should be a fan-favorite affair.

However, it sounds like he might face Snoop Dogg before all of that.

Recently speaking on The JRE MMA Show with Joe Rogan (via MMA Fighting), ‘The Immortal’ said he’s looking to get his hands on Snoop, a longtime MMA fan and even a commentator on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contenders Series, for the trash he talked to UFC superstar Conor McGregor following his TKO defeat to Floyd Mayweather last year:

“Snoop Dogg, that piece of s**t” said Brown. “I’ll call him out. He called out Conor. He called him a b**ch. That’s not cool, man. I don’t care [if he was intoxicated], he put it out in public. He could have apologized, deleted it, whatever. If I go to the UFC PI [UFC Performance Institute], I might just punch him if I see him there. I’m cool with that.”

According to ‘The Immortal,’ McGregor has done a ton for the sport by working incredibly hard, and Snoop has no knowledge of what it takes to fight in MMA:

“I’m just saying, that really offends me. Conor, people all have their opinions about him, I respect the s**t out of that guy. I love what he’s done, I love his schtick. I think he’s a true sportsman. He comes into the limelight for a while and then he goes back, and I think he works his ass off. I really think he does. He wouldn’t be where he’s at if he didn’t, but everyone judges him by what he does out here.

“I would say also that [commentators] have no right to be saying things that they’ve never done. You don’t have to compete, [but if you train] you get such a more in-depth knowledge about what they’re truly going through and what’s happening by just experiencing it a little bit.”

An interesting point of view from one of the UFC’s most gritty competitors. He’s certainly stuck up for the UFC’s golden boy with his shining assessment of ‘The Notorious,’ yet the fact remains the lightweight champion has not defended a single belt in the Octagon and is now aiming for an absolutely farcical rematch with ‘Money’ in the UFC.

So while he may want to punch Snoop Dogg for blasting McGregor and his loss to Mayweather, Brown may have a much longer line of McGregor haters to sock quite soon if his first defense isn’t made apparent.

And it may not be.

The UFC has announced two fan favorite fights for one of their upcoming events.

The promotion announced on Friday afternoon that former WSOF lightweight champion Justin Gaethje would fight fellow lightweight contender Dustin Poirier as well as a welterweight bout between Carlos Condit and Matt Brown. These fights are slated to take place at UFC on FOX 29 (UFC Glendale).

Going into Brown’s bout against Diego Sanchez on the main card of UFC Fight Night 120, he was on a three-fight stoppage skid and made it clear that this would be his retirement fight. As seen in the fight, he broke that losing streak by landing a devastating elbow strike to knock out the always tough Sanchez.

Just four years ago, they were booked against each other at UFC on FOX 9, but Brown sustained a back injury that forced him out of the fight. The bout never got re-booked.

Gaethje has been up and down under the UFC banner as he scored a TKO win over Michael Johnson while he lost by second-round TKO to fellow The Ultimate Fighter 26 coach Eddie Alvarez last month at UFC 218.

On the flip side, Poirier came back strong after his recent no-contest against Alvarez by scoring a third-round TKO win over Anthony Pettis in November.

The event is slated to take place on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at the Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona. The main card will air on FOX at while the preliminary card will be split broadcasted on FOX Sports 1 at and the promotion’s streaming service, UFC Fight Pass.

Matt Brown might be changing his tune about possibly retiring from pro-MMA competition.

It’s been well documented that his latest bout against Diego Sanchez on the main card of UFC Fight Night 120 on November 11th, 2017 at Ted Constant Convocation Center in Norfolk, Virginia would be his last fight.

Brown was on a three-fight stoppage skid and made it clear that this would be his retirement fight. As seen in the fight, he broke that losing streak by landing a devastating elbow strike to knock out the always tough Sanchez.

Now, things have changed, and Brown shed some light on it during a recent interview.

“(The) kids love me fighting,” Brown told MMAjunkie Radio. “They were jumping up and down when I told them I was fighting again. They were like, ‘Yes, yes’ and pumping their fists and shadow-boxing. They’re all about it. They want to see me fight, and they want to see me beat people up. So, they’re excited.

“I think the more adult family – it’s kind of up in the air. We see the pros and the cons. My wife certainly enjoys more time with me. But she likes fighting, too. She likes to see me accomplish what I set out to do. So we’re in it together.”

“I said, ‘Keep offering fights. If the right thing comes up, I will come right back,’” Brown said. Because of my retirement, I wouldn’t be able to make the weight that quickly.”

Earlier this month, a report came out stating that UFC is looking to book a fight between Brown and former interim welterweight champion Carlos Condit at a Fight Night event that is slated to take place on April 14. Keep in mind there’s has been no date or location revealed for this event. Also, the UFC has yet to come out and announce the bout.

“That was the big thing with the whole retirement. It really scared me, the thought of retiring,” Brown said. “It was a really nerve-wrecking thing. And I had no idea what I was going to do. So I just kind of had to make it official – which turned out not to be official, but at the time it was official. And I’m not so scared. I had lot of opportunities come up. I’ve been doing a lot of work with MusclePharm, specifically.

“Just a lot of opportunities came up that I guess I just didn’t realize were out there, because I’ve always been so hyper-focused on the fighting. And it just made me feel a lot more comfortable with stepping away from the sport. Just realizing there’s another world out there, and I can handle that, and I could be content with that.”

“I retired for the holidays,” Brown joked. “Starting the new year off back with a new fight, man. New outlook. New determination. New will. We’re back, man. Let’s do it.”

It turns out that Matt Brown is not retiring after all as he has his next fight lined up.

Brown dropped a big hint about his next fight early on Thursday and now a report has surfaced online from MMAWeekly.com that reports the UFC is looking to book a fight between Brown and former interim welterweight champion Carlos Condit at a Fight Night event that is slated to take place on April 14.

As of this writing, there’s has been no date or location revealed for this event. Here is what Brown had to say on his official Twitter account:

“When I said I was retiring, I never said how long… Looks like it won’t be as long as I planned either.”

The story leading into Brown’s bout against Diego Sanchez on the main card of UFC Fight Night 120 on November 11th, 2017 at Ted Constant Convocation Center in Norfolk, Virginia was that it would be his last fight.

Going into it, Brown was on a three-fight stoppage skid and made it clear that this would be his retirement fight.

As seen in the fight, he broke that losing streak by landing a devastating elbow strike to knock out the always tough Sanchez.

Brown is still interested in fighting as he noted after his most recent bout that he would be interesting accepting a bout agreement against the former interim champion due to their history. Now, it appears that he will get his wish.

Just four years ago, they were booked against each other at UFC on FOX 9, but Brown sustained a back injury that forced him out of the fight. The bout never got re-booked.
