Ahead of his incoming Octagon bow at UFC 299 in March, former Bellator MMA welterweight title challenger, Michael Page remains a close betting underdog to beat divisional contender, Kevin Holland in his first promotional walk.
Page, a former undisputed Bellator MMA welterweight championship challenger, penned a multi-fight deal with the Dana White-led, UFC before the turn of the year following months of speculation linking him with a move, following a career-long stay with Bellator MMA.
Riding a win into his Octagon debut, London Shootfighters staple, Michael Page most recently landed a TKO win over Goiti Yamauchi via a series of early leg kicks back in March of last year, returning to the winner’s enclosure following a split decision loss to Logan Storley in the pair’s interim title fight clash.

And aiming to blast his way to the top of the welterweight rankings, Page, 36, has sights firmly fixed on standing opposite Birmingham native, Edwards in an undisputed championship fight in the pair’s native UK sooner than later.
“The fact is, we’re prize fighters,” Michael Page told MMA Fighting. “When the time comes, we’re gonna get to work. And I can already see it. I can already envision it. I can already see ‘MVP’ (Michael ‘Venom’ Page) – Leon ‘Rocky’ Edwards, in the UK, two British fighters. That is going to be unbelievable.”
“If you look at the [Michael] Chandler route, I’m definitely on that mode,” Michael Page explained. “It can’t be long. I’m here for a good time, not a long time. I just wanna come in and make as much noise as possible.”

Page, officially a free agent since fighting out his contract with the Scott Coker-led, Bellator MMA, most recently featured in professional mixed martial arts back in March of this year, stopping Goiti Yamauchi with a leg kick TKO win inside just 26-seconds of the opening round.
And appearing at UFC 286 later that month, London Shootfighters staple, Page was linked with a move to the Octagon, with a promotional representative confirming the organization’s interest in penning the 36-year-old to a contract.
Furthermore, divulging some information regarding a potential move to the Octagon, Page claimed that if he moved to the UFC, he would like to fight a contender within the top-5 of the welterweight division from the get-go.
“Can I see myself there?” Michael Page said of a move to the UFC. “100 percent. I want top five – top 10 max. I don’t feel like I need to prove myself all over again. I just want to go in there – and we’ve seen it with Michael Chandler. He went in there, fought a top 10, Dan Hooker. Great first win for him, that just sprung him into title contention.”
“That is the route I see myself in,” Michael Page explained. “I don’t see it in any other way. I don’t need a warm-up fight. And it’s not like I’ve been out of the game for ages. I’m ready to go now.”
