Like the commission, USADA has handed Lesnar a one year suspension according to a report from MMAFighting.com.

While it’s unclear whether or not he’ll ever fight again, Lesnar will be able to compete again on July 15, 2017, as the suspension is retroactive to when his provisional suspension begun. The ex-champion failed two drug tests with one being an out-of-competition test and one being an in-competition test.

In addition to his punishment from USADA and his suspension from the commission, Lesnar was also fined $250,000 by the NSAC.

Despite his failed test, Lesnar did in fact compete at UFC 200, as he scored a dominant decision victory over Hunt, although it has since been changed to a no-contest. Both the UFC and Lesnar have come under extreme criticism, as Lesnar was given an exemption from entering the USADA testing pool four months prior to his return.

Hunt has also unleashed on the UFC and Lesnar and he’s threatened the UFC with a lawsuit.

Do you feel as if the punishment fits the crime for the former heavyweight kingpin?

John “Hands of Stone” Lineker suffered a one-sided decision loss to former champion TJ Dillashaw at UFC 207 last Friday (Dec. 30, 2016) in Las Vegas, Nevada. While his skills didn’t match up to Dillashaw’s on fight night, Lineker’s heart was indeed displayed, as the Brazilian fought through a broken jaw.

Detailing the injury to MMAFighting.com, Lineker said that he felt a ‘pop’ in the opening round:

“I felt a pop right away,” Lineker said. “I wasn’t dizzy or anything like that, but I felt a pop. I thought ‘it was just the kick, no problem,’ but it start to hurt a lot in the second round. I truly felt it in the third, when I took all of his punches.”

Continuing on, the Brazilian slugger said that immediately after the fight the pain was bearable, but when he tried to eat he ‘couldn’t handle’ it anymore:

“I left the Octagon and talked to the doctors, everything was normal,” he said. “I could move my jaw, all normal, so they cleared me and said to let them know if I felt anything. When I went to another room to eat something and watch the fights, I felt the pain and it didn’t stop.”

“It was time to go back to the hotel, and I couldn’t handle the pain anymore. I told my wife to call my manager, and I couldn’t wait until the next morning. We called the UFC doctor, and they sent me back to the hotel to do some exams, and a MRI showed two fractures.”

A timeline for Lineker’s return to action is currently unclear, but he did receive a six-month medical suspension from the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC).

Fabricio Werdum Comments On UFC 207 Debacle: I’ll Fight Anyone

Former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio “Vai Cavalo” Werdum was scheduled to rematch fellow former champion Cain Velasquez at next Friday’s (Dec. 30, 2016) UFC 207, but Velasquez was unfortunately pulled from the bout yesterday (Dec. 24, 2016) after he failed to be licensed by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) due to medical reasons.

Earlier today (Dec. 25, 2016), it was reported that Werdum would also be removed from the card, but the Brazilian has since told MMAFighting.com that he’s willing to fight anyone:

“We’re waiting. I’m on standby. If the UFC calls me, I’ll fight. I’m ready to fight,” Werdum said. “If the UFC says they have an opponent, I’ll fight. I’ll fight anyone, like I always did. I always fought the best. My record shows that. If I were afraid of anyone, I wouldn’t be in this sport.”

Both Junior Dos Santos and Stefan Struve, who are set to fight each other in Halifax on Feb. 19, offered to replace Velasquez and JDS even said that Werdum had turned down the bout with him, but “Vai Cavalo” said that isn’t the case.

Werdum said that he would fight Dos Santos again and even went as far as to take a shot at “Cigano’s” sexuality:

“What ‘Cigano’ said was a bit weird,” Werdum said. “‘Cigano’ has been chasing me for a long time. You usually go after the belt, not a fighter. I think that’s weird. I wasn’t offered this (fight). He’s saying I turned it down. I’d fight him just to end this story of him chasing me.”

“Some people think he’s jealous because I became champion beating his ‘dad’ Cain Velasquez, but I don’t think that’s the case,” he continued. “I think he didn’t come out of the closet yet. I don’t have anything against homosexuals, but ‘Cigano’ needs to get out of the closet. He must have something because he won’t forget me. I already told him I’m married. Nothing against gays, but everyone does their own thing.”

Werdum and Dos Santos first met in 2007 when “Cigano” knocked him out with a brutal uppercut, but Werdum said that he has since evolved more, a statement he’s willing to prove:

“He said something yesterday, he said I’m not a good fighter. I’ll show him inside the Octagon,” Werdum said. “Put us both in there now, no problem. He thinks I’m that same Werdum from 2007. Look at both of us and see who evolved more. My game changed completely.”

“I want to fight Friday. It’s hard because of the strategy, to prepare for someone on days’ notice. I’ve been thinking about Cain Velasquez for three or four months, training for him, but I’ll fight anyone. Just give me a fight.”

Would you like to see the two Brazilians do battle once more?

In a recent interview, former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez appeared confident that he would be cleared by a doctor to fight at next week’s (Dec. 30, 2016) UFC 207 from Las Vegas despite the fact that he’s been dealing with a back injury throughout training camp.

However, a rumor surfaced earlier today (Dec. 24, 2016) indicating that the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) has ruled him out of his scheduled rematch with ex-champion Fabricio Werdum.

Velasquez, however, hasn’t been made aware of this news and he even said that he was cleared by the doctor the UFC sent him to:

The American Kickboxing Academy product is coming off of an impressive victory over Travis Browne last July and was likely going to be fighting for another title shot against Werdum next week.

Three of the biggest stars in mixed martial arts (MMA) today are set to appear in front of the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) after numerous prior delays for Nate Diaz, Jon Jones, and Brock Lesnar have hindered them unable to get their respective days in court.

The three men are scheduled to appear in front of the NSAC on December 15th for the commission’s meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada. Diaz’s hearing is due to a pre-fight water bottle war with opponent Conor McGregor at a UFC 202 press conference, in which the two adversaries chucked bottles at one another form across the room. McGregor, who has already had his day in front of the NSAC, was fined $75,000 fine for the incident, as well as ordered to fulfill 50 hours of community service and participate in a public-service announcement (also worth $75,000).

‘The Notorious One’, however, has  filed a notice for judicial review after refusing to pay the hefty fine, in hopes of challenging the NSAC’s ruling in front of the Clark County civil court.

Jones and Lesnar’s cases are rather similar as both men tested positive for the anti-estrogenic agent Hydroxy-clomiphene prior to UFC 200. While Jones was pulled from the event just days before, Lesnar was allowed to compete as his test results were not received until after the card’s conclusion.

Jones has reportedly reached an agreement with the NSAC for a one-year suspension that will keep him outside of the Octagon until July 6, 2017. While no news on Lesnar’s situation has come to light as of yet, he is expected to receive a similar punishment.

We’ll keep you updated as we learn more…..
