Rodtang Jitmuangnon puts on yet another clinical display of violence as he booked his place in the semi-finals of the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix. The ONE flyweight Muay Thai champion dominated Jacob Smith over three rounds, leaving the Englishman bloodied and battered by the end of the bout.
The first two minutes of the fight were relatively competitive, but Rodtang soon began to employ a series of hellacious elbow strikes, cutting Smith open. The second and third rounds were more of the same, as he continued to use his elbows to lethal effect, mixing in a spearing rear straight and debilitating leg kicks.
Credit to Smith for making it to the final bell, but it was not a hard decision for the judges, as Rodtang’s hand was raised, and he progressed into the semi-finals. He was also granted a 50k bonus for his efforts.
Check out the highlights of Rodtang’s dominant victory over Jacob Smith below:

ONE Championship has announced a new partnership deal with Amazon Prime for the markets of the US and Canada.
ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong had hinted at a historic deal for the organization’s US broadcast in March this year. In the post-fight interview at ONE X, Demetrious Johnson teased a return in the summer but refused to share more details of what was coming next.
Sityodtong was asked by the press about DJ’s hint and said, “We’re gonna announce our US broadcast deal in mid-April. First time in the history of ONE that will be on a multi-year, regular primetime schedule on a major major broadcaster in the US. So yeah, DJ obviously featured. I think that’s what he’s talking about.” (h/t Sportskeeda)
Earlier today, Ariel Helwani broke the news of the partnership deal between ONE Championship with Amazon Prime. The Singapore-based organization has signed a five-year deal with Amazon Prime Video Sports for the territories of the USA and Canada.
The deal states a minimum of 12 events to be premiered live in the US primetime. At the time of the reporting, further details have not been revealed. Information regarding the first event and full calendar will be announced in the near future.
ONE Championship posted a tweet in the celebration of the partnership deal that will see the American fight fans connect with their favorite fighters once again on prime time.
ONE Championship’s rise in popularity
ONE has developed a big name for itself in the Asian market and has found ways to connect with international fans, especially in the North American market. Signing on Demetrious Johnson from the UFC was a major game-changer for the promotion. Johnson holds the record for most finishes in UFC flyweight history with seven and is currently ranked #1 in the ONE flyweight rankings.
The organization has put on exciting shows for its audience, with a recent hybrid Muay Thai/Mixed Martial Arts bout taking place between Johnson and Rodtang. DJ powered through the first round under Muay Thai rules to secure a second-round submission win over the Muay Thai specialist via a rear-naked choke.

Muay Thai world champion, Chris Shaw, left a burglar battered and bloodied after launching a brutal hammer attack
The ONE Championship fighter left George Halliday with a broken nose and blurred vision.
According to the Daily Record, Shaw was in bed on August 11, 2020, when Halliday tried to break into his home. The kickboxer, 31, was awoken by Halliday stealing tools from his van and trying to gain access to his house.
He chased the thief down the street before launching his attack that put Halliday in the hospital and Shaw in the dock at Paisley Sheriff Court.
On Friday, Shaw pleaded guilty to assaulting Halliday. The court heard that Shaw struck Halliday causing him to fall to the ground before he hit him with the hammer to the arm. Shaw continued to punch and kick the man who broke into his property for about two minutes. The beating left Halliday covered in blood and his eye swollen shut.
Halliday admitted to breaking into Shaw’s home while receiving treatment in hospital, although he claims his intention was only to access the garage.
“I thought I was breaking into a garage, but it turns out it was a house and the guy battered me,” Halliday reportedly said.
The 44-year-old refused to provide a police statement or let them photograph his injuries before appearing in court the day after the attack to plead guilty to breaking into Shaw’s van, stealing items, and trying to break into his home so he could steal from it.
Halliday became addicted to heroin after being attacked and stabbed more than 20 times in 2010. In 2017, he was diagnosed with PTSD.
Shaw and Halliday are due to be sentenced in April.
Do you think ONE Championship fighter Chris Shaw did anything wrong when he attacked George Halliday for breaking into his home?

John Lineker (35-9) dethroned bantamweight champion Bibiano Fernandes (24-5) in the co-main event of “ONE Championship: Lights Out” on Friday at Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Lineker has had an up and down career arch and has put a stamp on an impressive resume by winning the bantamweight title in Singapore today.
In the first round, Fernandes was able to drop Lineker on the counter with a left hook but once they hit the ground, Lineker reversed position and rode out the rest of the round in top position while landing some solid ground-and-pound.
Round 2 started with Lineker ripping the body, but Fernandes landed a great takedown. Lineker then made his way back up and eventually found a perfect left hook, which knocked out Fernandes and earned Lineker the belt.
In what has been a crazy career up to this point for Lineker, this belt might be one of his defining moments.
He was awarded a $50,000 bonus for his highlight reel KO.

Singapore-based professional mixed martial arts and kickboxing promotion, ONE Championship, led by Chatri Sityodtong, will reportedly incorporate a new bonus system for future events, which will see fighters earn a $50,000 bonus for displaying “gameness’.
Per an initial report from South China Morning Post reporter, Nicolas Atkin, Sityodtong will offer at least one fighter, and a maximum of five fighters a bonus of $50,000 per event to those of whom show “gameness” during their respective fights.
The first bonuses dished out by the ONE Championship organizational leader went to lightweight duo, Saygid Guseyn Arslanaliev and Timofey Nastyufkin following their ONE Championship: Winter Warriors clash back in December where the latter suffered a third round knockout defeat.
With Arslanaliev and Nastyufkin both earning a $50,000 bonus for displaying “gameness”, the bout also earned the ONE Championship Fight of the Year award for 2021.
In order to qualify for the “gameness” bonus, competing to secure a finish throughout the fight will serve as the most important criteria to secure the $50,00 bonus from Sityodtong.
Along with this latest bonus incorporation, Sityodtong announced a slew of high-profile fights in the coming month for ONE Championship during his appearance on The MMA Hour – including the rebooking of the mixed rules showdown between Demetrious Johnson, and Rodtang Jitmuangnon which is now expected to take place in late March.
ONE Championship were forced to abandon plans to pair Demetrious Johnson and Rodtang late last year
Andrea Lee, the promotion’s atomweight champion will also defend her title on the same card: ONE X, taking on Stamp Fairtex. Adriano Moraes will also compete at the event against Yuya Wakamatsu in a title showdown.
On February 11. at ONE: Bad Blood, bantamweight champion, Bibiano Fernandes is expected to tackle title challenger and UFC alum, John Lineker.
John Lineker would be more than willing to fight Demetrious Johnson in the future. Both fighters never competed during their time in the UFC flyweight division. John Lineker would be more than willing to fight Demetrious Johnson in the future.
Both fighters never competed during their time in the UFC flyweight division. But with the pair now at ONE Championship, a meeting is certainly possible even if Lineker fights one weight class above him at bantamweight.
For now, there is no word on what Johnson will do next as he is coming off a knockout defeat to Adriano Moraes in their flyweight title fight earlier this year.
That result didn’t really surprise Lineker as he trains with Moraes at American Top Team, and he believes a fight between himself and “Mighty Mouse” would be a great one.
“For me, it would be a great fight,” John Lineker told BJPenn.com. “I’m here to fight so if they tell me to fight Demetrious Johnson, I’m ready.
“I’m not surprised because I know Adriano. He’s my friend, he’s my training partner, we train together at American Top Team so I knew that he could win against Demetrious Johnson. I knew he could beat him, he’s a great fighter.”
John Lineker Challenging For Title Next
Of course, Lineker is challenging for the bantamweight title next which is currently held by Bibiano Fernandes. Fernandes happens to be a training partner of Johnson’s and this fact was not lost on Lineker.
“It’s funny because he’s training with Bibiano [Fernandes] and I’m training with Adriano so let’s see who the best team is as I’m gonna fight Bibiano and we’re gonna see,” he added.
If Lineker were to become the next ONE bantamweight champion, perhaps he could defend his belt against Johnson next or move down for a flyweight super fight.
Who do you think would win between Demetrious Johnson and John Lineker?
