They say there’s no stronger bond than that between a boy and his mom.

In Poland, that proved to be much more than an expression over the weekend when a 50-year-old mom strapped on a pair of eight-ounce gloves and stepped inside the cage to settle some business with the 19-year-old girl that broke her boy’s heart.

Ma?gorzata Zwierzy?ska, who also goes by the name ‘Gosia Magical’ online, previously revealed that she had been plotting an MMA match with her son’s ex-girlfriend, Nikola Alokin. On Saturday, the bout went down under the Clout MMA banner, a promotion known for making outlandish fights on the regular.

As a mom, how far would you go to protect your son?

Thank god slippers weren’t allowed otherwise it would’ve been a blood bath,” wrote one fan on X.

“‘More entertaining than any Paul fight,” another quipped.

Poland Has Done Are More Outlandish Fights Than Mom vs. Ex-Girlfriend

It’s far from the first time Poland has hosted some questionable mixed martial arts matchups, though Saturday’s event may have been the first-ever mom vs. ex-girlfriend matchup in the history of the sport. In 2021, one promotion in particular came under fire after booking an intergender contest pitting Piotr ‘Mua Boy’ Lisowski against female arm wrestler Ula Siekacz.

Siekacz made it to the second round before being pummeled to the point that the referee was forced to step in and call for the stoppage as blood-thirsty fans cheered. “I’m not going to get slapped by a guy anymore. I consciously took up this fight — that is, I knew what I was [doing],” Siekacz told her fans following the contest.”I am waiting for some interesting suggestions and I will continue to develop. What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger.

Following the incident the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation issued a statement condemning the ill-conceived matchup.

“Media coverage has brought our attention to an inter-sex MMA bout that took place in Poland over the weekend,” IMMAF CEO Densign White said in a statement. Although neither the promoter nor competitors have any association with IMMAF, as the international governing body for amateur mixed martial arts, I feel it is important that I state our position.

“IMMAF categorically disagrees with this intentionally scandalous, form of entertainment, which does not represent the sport of MMA or its values and puts women at risk. It is unacceptable that women and men should compete against each other in combat sports, essentially for reasons of safety but also fair play, and we in no way endorse this” (h/t DailyMail).

Although yesterday’s (Sat., October 21, 2017) UFC Fight Night 118 from the Ergo Arena in Gdansk, Poland, may have been short on palpable buzz, the card did feature some antics from UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor.

‘The Notorious’ appeared cageside to root for friend and training partner Artem Lobov, who met Andre Fili in the feature prelim bout in Gdansk. His tutelage could be heard from afar, and the brash Irish champ became even more animated by approaching the cage to give his instruction.

That was when referee Marc Goddard scolded McGregor by firmly telling him, “What’s gotten into you, Conor? Be professional.” He stepped back and settled himself as Lobov ultimately lost to Fili by decision. The day after, Goddard told MMA Fighting ‘The Notorious’ was essentially acting as a fourth cornerman and could have influenced the fight’s outcome:

“The reason I interjected is because Artem gets a fourth cornerman cage side giving instruction. That’s not allowed. Imagine had Conor talked him through a fight-ending sequence. Then what?

“Conor was basically acting like a fourth cornerman. Walking around the cage side wherever and whenever he wanted. When Fili took down Artem, Conor was right there. That’s simply not fair and not allowed. I won’t have it. He can’t do as he pleases.”

Goddard remained firm in his stance, clarifying that McGregor could have yelled as loudly as he wanted until he approached the cage. In his eyes, what he did was unfair, so Goddard made a steadfast call quickly to uphold the integrity of the match-up:

“If Conor had stood up, stayed at his seat, then he could have shouted till his hearts content. That’s what he’s supposed to do. But what he simply cannot do, what he is not allowed to do, is approach the cage at any point and as I say act as the fourth corner. That’s unfair and unjust. Anyone who knows me will tell you I’ve done this forever, in any country in any situation. My integrity is not wavered and neither is the rules. We can’t allow that. I simply had to act.”

[VIDEO] Check Out This HORRIFIC Arm Break From a Polish MMA Fight

(Jesus, it’s like that time I asked Cris Cyborg to give me a Dutch Rudder all over again.)

From the time Corey Hill nearly kicked his own foot off to Frank Mir’s arm-shattering kimura on Big Nog to whatever the f*ck this is supposed to be, it would be safe to say that us MMA fans have been privy to some absolutely horrendous bone breaks over the years. Yet no matter how gruesome the injury is, we continuously find ourselves drawn toward them, replaying the nasty injuries on a loop like a white chick with a zit-popping compilation.

In Poland last weekend, we were treated to another real doozy of an arm break on the HFO 2 Kunlun Elimination 2016 undercard. During a match between two unnamed amateurs, the fellow in the blue-taped gloves above attempted to counter a Harai Goshi throw by placing his arm on the mat. A quick reminder: NEVER, EVER TRY THIS.

So yeah…he’s not gonna be able to walk that off.

No word yet on how ol’ Stumpy is recovering, but we’re going to guess that he won’t make that mistake again.
