Quinton “Rampage” Jackson says professional MMA fights are constantly rigged.

During an interview with Chris Van Vliet earlier this month, Jackson spoke about “fake fights” in Pride Fighting Championship. He fought for the Japanese mixed martial arts promotion from July 2001 to February 2006.

“I know that there’s been fake fights in MMA,” Jackson said. “I know that… Say me and you fight and you say, ‘Listen Rampage, I’m gonna give you $10 million to take a dive. I gotta look good though. I gotta really hit you. I’m like, ‘I get hit all the time’. At the end you know that you’re gonna hit me, I know that you’re gonna hit me, but you know you’re gonna knock me the f*** out. I’m just thinking, ‘I’m gonna get hit then I gotta fall down’. Boxers do that shit all the time.” (h/t Sportskeeda)

Former UFC light heavyweight champion, Rampage Jackson has shared footage of his son, Raja Jackson competing at a Global Legion FC event on the regional circuit in the United States – with his son wrapping up a slick anaconda choke win.

Jackson, who is best known for his stints under the Japanese-based Pride FC banner as well as his time with the UFC – where he landed the undisputed light heavyweight title, last competed professionally back in December 2019 under the Bellator banner, dropping a one-sided first round knockout loss to Fedor Emelianenko

Rampage Jackson embarked on a 5-3 record during his eight-fight run with Bellator MMA

Improving to 2-0 as an amateur, Raja Jackson managed to eventually set up an expertly applied anaconda choke, patiently setting up the finish before forcing a tap from his opponent. Sharing the footage of his son’s second amateur victory, Rampage Jackson posted the finish on his official Twitter account.

“A little footage from my son’s fight (at) Global Legion FC,” Rampage Jackson tweeted with accompanying footage.

In his first amateur outing, Raja Jackson, who plys his trade under Quinton and Bellator MMA alum, Antonio McKee – the father of undefeated featherweight kingpin, A.J. McKee – stopped Zalimkhan Shakhrudinov with second round ground strikes back in November of last year.

For Rampage Jackson, the sport pioneer boasts a 38-14 professional record, scoring a notable 20 career knockout wins.

The veteran has defeated the likes of Igor Vovchanchyn, Kevin Randleman, Murilo Bustamante, Chuck Liddell, Ricardo Arona, and Murilo Rua during his time under the Pride FC banner, before an eventual UFC move back in 2007.

Landing in the organization with a knockout win over Marvin Eastman, Rampage Jackson would go on to score a second career win over Liddell to win the undisputed light heavyweight championship, before then besting Dan Henderson, Wanderlei Silva, Keith Jardine, Lyoto Machida, Matt Hamill, and then Fabio Maldonado in his final Octagon walk in 2015.

“Rampage” Jackson believes Triller Triad Combat is the new game in town and that the UFC and Bellator should be worried.

Triller Triad Combat debuted last night along with a brand new fighting ruleset that involved two-minute rounds in a triangular ring with punching from the clinch allowed.

The matchups were MMA fighters vs. boxers with Jackson captaining the MMA team while former heavyweight champion Shannon Briggs captained the boxing team.

Names like Mike Perry emerged victorious by decision for the MMA side who earned four out of seven wins. However, the night ended with boxing on top as Kubrat Pulev knocked Frank Mir out on his feet in the first round of the event’s headliner.

Rampage Jackson: It’s Here To Stay

All in all, it’s definitely something new and Jackson believes it might shake up the combat sports scene.

“It’s something new; I think it’s here to stay,” Jackson told MMA Junkie. “I think the UFC is gonna be worried about this. I don’t know what Dana White’s response is gonna be.”

How long it’ll be here to stay remains to be seen. Triller has long boasted of paying its fighters better than the UFC and that only continued last night.

But whether these events are profitable enough will determine whether Triller can keep paying the fighters well. For now, though, Jackson believes all the major MMA promotions need to be worried.

“I think UFC and Bellator should be worried right now, honestly,” he added.
