UFC 128 Jones vs Rua

Light Heavyweight Championship bout: Maurício Rua (c) vs Jon Jones I’ve got Jon Jones winning this one. Rua might be the more powerful fighter here, but Jones is more dangerous in more places. Light Heavyweight Championship bout: Maurício Rua (c) vs Jon Jones

I’ve got Jon Jones winning this one. Rua might be the more powerful fighter here, but Jones is more dangerous in more places.

Bantamweight bout: Urijah Faber vs Eddie Wineland

Faber.

Lightweight bout: Jim Miller vs Kamal Shalorus

Miller should be able to keep this on the feet and out box Shalorus. This fight should be awesome as Shalorus is world class wrestler which will completely nullify Miller’s takedowns. Miller those is far superior in the boxing department where Shalorus wings bombs over and over. You know what I’m changing my pick. Shalorus via decision.

Middleweight bout: Nate Marquardt vs Dan Miller

Nate Marquardt. Better everywhere.

Heavyweight bout: Mirko Filipovic vs Brendan Schaub

Brendan Schaub. Younger fighters seem to be giving Mirko problems.

Preliminary card (Spike TV Card)

Light Heavyweight bout: Luiz Cane vs Eliot Marshall

Luiz Cane easily. Well he won’t necessarily win easily, but I think its a easy pick.

Lightweight bout: Edson Barboza vs Anthony Njokuani

No pick, but like seeing Njokuani fight.

Preliminary card (Facebook)

Welterweight bout: Ricardo Almeida vs Mike Pyle

Ricardo Almeida doesn’t want to get choked out again. I don’t think Pyle is going to get that shot. I like Almeida here.

Lightweight bout: Kurt Pellegrino vs Gleison Tibau

If Gleison fights at his best he will be too strong and big for Pellegrino who has had problems against bigger fighters.

Preliminary card

Bantamweight bout: Joseph Benavidez vs Ian Loveland

Benavidez

Featherweight bout: Erik Koch vs Raphael Assunção

Assunção

Catchweight (195 lb) bout: Nick Catone vs Costantinos Phillipou

No pick

UFC 126 Undercard Predictions

Preliminary card Welterweight bout: Mike Pierce vs Kenny Robertson Mike Pierce is one of the most underknown and underappreciated welterweights. I’ve got Pierce winning this. Preliminary card

Welterweight bout: Mike Pierce vs Kenny Robertson

Mike Pierce is one of the most underknown and underappreciated welterweights. I’ve got Pierce winning this.

Light Heavyweight bout: Kyle Kingsbury vs Ricardo Romero

For whatever reason, Romero seems to pull out the victories at the end of the day. I lean towards Romero here in the underdog position.

Lightweight bout: Paul Taylor vs Gabe Ruediger

Taylor should eat Ruediger up as Ruediger is rather poor on his feet, but good on the ground and Taylor is excellent on the feet and mediocre on the ground. Taylor should win this fight via decision.

Preliminary card (Facebook Stream)

Bantamweight bout: Norifumi Yamamoto vs Demetrious Johnson

Kid Yamamoto against a guy I don’t know. I go with Yamamoto everytime.

Preliminary card (Spike TV)

Featherweight bout: Chad Mendes vs Michihiro Omigawa

I know Mendes is likely to win, but you can’t write off Omigawa so easily either. Mendes is -357 to Omigawa at Intertops. With crazy skewed odds I’ll go with Omigawa.

Lightweight bout: Donald Cerrone vs Paul Kelly

This is going to be a great fight. Kelly is tough as nails, Cerrone is as well. I don’t think Cerrone has faced someone as strong as Kelly yet. I think Kelly wears em down and takes the decision.

Main card

Bantamweight bout: Miguel Torres vs Antonio Banuelos

Miguell Torres is likely to win, but I’m avoiding this due to the odds being out of bounds.

Light Heavyweight bout: Jon Jones vs Ryan Bader

This is my favorite fight on the card. I got Jon Jones winning this fight. Intertops has it -357 for Jones and +240 for Bader.

Welterweight bout: Jake Ellenberger vs Carlos Eduardo Rocha

One of the best fighters to bet on is Ellenberger. However, this fight is tricky. Rocha is a absolute jiu-jitsu ace and has a ton of leg related sub victories. I’m passing here as I think Rocha could pull off an insane upset. However, the oddsmakers look like they are thinking like me and Ellenberger is not such a large favorite in this one.

Remember last year when a pirate hacked the San Francisco Chronicle’s website and got a link to his illegal UFC 121 stream stickied on the top of the main page for the newspaper’s website?

Well it looks like a fellow stream hawker one-upped his SFC advertising cohort.

According to a cease and desist letter sent to Google on December 10, 2010 by MiMTiD Corporation acting on behalf of Zuffa, the owner of WatchUFCVideos.com was a bit more industrious.

According to the document, he employed the services of the pay-per-click advertising services Google Syndication, Google Doubleclick, ?atdmt.com, doubleclick.net, fastclick.net, linksynergy.com and overture.com to promote his non-licensed paid stream for UFC 124 on various websites Google paired his site with using its "super secret algorithm." He would have gotten away with it too, if it weren’t for the UFC’s pesky broadcast partner Spike TV whose site was the most prominent one watchufcvideos.com’s ad appeared on.

Dave Meltzer from The Wrestling Observer is reporting that a number two middleweight contender match-up between Yushin Okami and Vitor Belfort is being planned for UFC 122 November 13 in Oberhausen, Germany.

According to Meltzer, the winner of the bout will likely take on the winner of the Chael Sonnen-Anderson Silva rematch some time in 2011. According to reports last week, that fight could happen as early as December, but may not take place until SuperBowl weekend.
