Newly minted Huntington Beach city councilman and former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz is demanding that California recounts their votes for the federal election.

Vote recounts have been a popular topic in the news as of late. While it’s possible some may take place in states where the election ended in a tight race – such as Georgia, Pennsylvania and Nevada – it’s highly unlikely that will happen in California, where Democratic Candidate Joe Biden won %65 of the vote, leading by more than 4 million ballots.

Nonetheless, that didn’t stop Ortiz, who has long been an outspoken Donald Trump supporter, from sharing a link on his Twitter account to a petition calling for a vote recount in the Golden State.

The poorly written petition states that, “The people of California are no longer going to tolerate our corrupt Government to claim victory for Democrats with 0 Precints counted. The people of California invested heavily their time into Trump rallies in San Diego, Big Bear, Newport Beach, Santa Barbara, Temecula, Rancho Cucamonga, Glendora, Lake Elsinore, Dana Point, Carlsbad. We will not let the Corrupt democrats give away our state !! We the People of California DEMAND a fair count of the state!”

It should be noted that the state was called by the Associated Press, who have no affect on the outcome of the election.

The petition has widely been mocked and criticized by Ortiz’s followers, and even the head of the UFC, Dana White, joined in on the ridicule.

White and Ortiz have had a feud that goes back to the reign the “Huntington Beach Bad Boy” had as champion. It appears that even their mutual admiration and respect of Donald Trump couldn’t stop the UFC boss from taking one more jab at Ortiz.

What do you make of the petition that Tito Ortiz shared? Let us know!

Not having always shared the most cordial relationships, assertive pair UFC president Dana White and the promotion’s former light heavyweight best, Tito ‘The Huntington Beach Bad Boy’ Ortiz, have been known to share a differing opinion, to say the least over the last decade or so.

Former 205-pound best, Ortiz had been campaigning, ultimately successfully to earn a seat on his hometown, Huntington Beach, city council recently – drawing a short, but respectful, congratulatory response from rival, White.

Speaking at last night’s post-fight press conference following the Contenders Series, White was asked for his thoughts on Ortiz’s successful bid for election, simply claiming, “Good for him (Tito Ortiz),” White said. “Good for him.

With Democratic presidential candidate, Joe Biden currently leading the race to become the United States president opposite incumbent leader, Donald Trump, White also gave his thoughts on Biden’s potential win, detailing how he’s not sure if the 77-year-old Pennsylvania native is aware of who he actually is – before jokingly questioning if Biden is aware of who he actually is himself.

I don’t even think (Joe) Biden knows who I am,” White told. “I don’t think Biden knows who Biden is. I had to do it. I don’t think [he’ll come after us (the UFC)] but who knows? I don’t know.” (H/T MMA Fighting)

Ortiz also recently called UFC colour-commentator, podcaster, and comedian, Joe Rogan a quitter for moving to Texas from California following the recent penning of an exclusive deal to take his hugely-successful podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience to music streaming platform, Spotify – in a  deal reportedly in the region of 0 million.

The 45-year-old Californian was involved in an infamous spat with White back in 2007, with the two reportedly agreeing to settle their differences in a boxing match, until Ortiz withdrew from the potential matchup, with the meeting failing to ever come to fruition.

Former UFC light heavyweight champion, Tito ‘The Huntington Beach Bad Boy’ Ortiz has labelled UFC colour-commentator, podcaster, and comedian, Joe Rogan a “quitter” amid the latter’s decision to move to Texas from California.

Ortiz, a UFC Hall of Famer last competed professionally in mixed martial arts in December of last year against Alberto El Patrón at Combate Americas 51, where he secured his third-consecutive victory with an opening-round rear-naked choke win

The 45-year-old Huntington Beach-born veteran is currently running for the city council of his native city, where he commented on the citizen’s needs to help protect the area, before lambasting Rogan for packing up and leaving California following his recent deal to move his podcast to streaming service, Spotify – in a deal which is reported to have netted him upwards of a cool $100 million.

It’s important that we protect this city, because this city is powerful to me and I’m not leaving,” Ortiz said to a crowd during a speech. “You know Joe Rogan and a bunch of other Hollywood guys, they left. You know what? I can’t say the word because my children are here, but they’re quitters. I refuse to be a quitter.

Rogan was recently forced to halt production of his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, after his producer, Jamie Vernon had tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

The longtime UFC commentator detailed why he chose to relocate to Texas following an extended stay in California, pointing to the fact that the state is starting to become rather over-populated.

When you look at the traffic, when you look at the economic despair, when you look at the homelessness problem that’s accelerated radically over the last six, seven, ten years, I think there’s too many people here,” Rogan explained. “I think it’s not tenable, I don’t think that it’s manageable.” (H/T BJPenn.com)

Ortiz, who’s been an avid supporter of incumbent United States president, Donald Trump ahead of his bid to win a second term in office opposite Democratic party nominee, Joe Biden – claimed the undisputed light heavyweight championship at UFC 25 in April of 2000, taking a unanimous decision victory over the decorated, Wanderlei Silva.

The Californian would go on to score five straight successful title defences, with wins over Yuki Kondo, Evan Tanner, Elvis Sinosic, Vladimir Matyushenko, and Ken Shamrock.

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz has received backing from the Trump family as he begins a career in politics.

The 45-year-old previously spoke about wanting to get involved with law enforcement after helping prevent riots in Huntington Beach after the death of George Floyd.

“I plan on it,” Ortiz said about his desire to become a cop back in June. “It just depends on what ranking I want to do. Do I want to be a sheriff or do I want to be a police officer? I haven’t really made my decision yet.”

Speaking to TMZ Sports yesterday Ortiz revealed he is running for the Huntington Beach City Council after deciding against becoming a cop.

“I kind of realized I’d be putting myself into danger and my family into danger maybe a partner if I did become a police officer,” Ortiz said. “My community has gave me so much through my career now it is time to give back to my community and I’m ready for city council.”

Ortiz has a friendly relationship with President Donald Trump but the two haven’t discussed the MMA fighters’ transition to politics yet although Ortiz states he does have the full support of the Trump family.

“I haven’t reached out to him (Donald Trump) yet, Donald Trump Jr. reached out to me and said ‘I heard you’re running Huntington Beach go get ‘em champ’. I’m very thankful of that.”

Ortiz ultimately wants to be the mayor of Huntington Beach.

“So that was the idea was to be mayor of Huntington Beach, Ortiz said. “But you’ve got to run through city council first and then you are appointed mayor of Huntington beach. I think I could fill those shoes 100 percent.”

Do you think Tito Ortiz will enjoy a successful career in politics?
