Michael Chandler questions Conor McGregor fight UFC where the fook is that guy

Off the back of his team’s seventh consecutive victory on The Ultimate Fighter 31 earlier this week, lightweight veteran, Michael Chandler appears puzzled still amid the failure of any significant progress on a bout with ex-champion, Conor McGregor, questioning the newly-turned 35-year-old.

Chandler, the current number five ranked lightweight contender, has yet to return to the Octagon since featuring on the main card of UFC 281 back in November at Madison Square Garden, suffering an eventual third round rear-naked choke loss to common-foe, Dustin Poirier.

Himself sidelined for the last two years, McGregor, who turned 35 years old today, has yet to make a return to the Octagon since suffering a first round doctor’s stoppage TKO defeat to former interim champion, Poirier – fracturing his left tibia and fibula in the opening frame to boot.

Featuring as an opposing coach on TUF 31 against Missouri veteran, Michael Chandler on the reality television show earlier this year, Crumlin striker, McGregor saw his team slump to 0-7 on this season of the showcase earlier this week.

Linked with a potential December return against Chandler at the final flagship event of the year at UFC 296 at the T-Mobile Arena at the welterweight limit – McGregor, at the time of publication, has yet to submit any drug test samples to anti-doping agency, USADA.

With UFC president, Dana White has failed to rule out granting an exemption to allow McGregor to return to competition without spending a six-month period within the USADA testing pool, however, news of an official event, location, or date for a planned bout has yet to follow.

Michael Chandler questions the status of a fight with Conor McGregor

Growing tired of a lack of activity on a bout with former undisputed lightweight and featherweight champion, McGregor, Chandler questioned the presence of the Dubliner on his official social media overnight.

“#WhereTheFookIsThatGuy,” Michael Chandler tweeted.

UFC president, Dana Whtie has tonight confirmed that former two-weight promotional champion, Conor McGregor has till yet to make an official return to the USADA (United States Anti-Doping Agency) testing pool, ahead of his expected Octagon comeback before the end of this year.

Speaking with TSN reporter, Aaron Bronsteter, White confirmed that McGregor, a former undisputed lightweight and featherweight champion under the banner of the organization, has yet to make his re-entry to the anti-doping agencies testing pool, with prior statements confirming how he would need to spend a period fo at least six months in the programe before he would be eligible to make a UFC return.

Furthermore, when discussing the possibility that an exemption would be enforced to allow the soon-to-be 35 year old to make a return without spending a period of six months in the testing pool, White remained non-committal.

“He’s (Conor McGregor) not,” Dana White replied when asked if Conor McGregor had returned to the USADA testing pool. “We’ll see how that plays out… I don’t talk about sh*t until sh*t happens, you know what I mean? To sit here and think hypothetically how a million different things could happen, no idea. I’m focusing on what’s happening this Saturday [UFC 290], and then next Saturday. UFC 300 isn’t even on my mind right now.”

“The Conor thing, who the hell knows how that’s gonna play out?” White explained. “Who cares what USADA says? We’ll see what happens when it happens. So, I don’t know.”

Sideline since headlining UFC 264 back in July 2021, McGregor suffered a fractured left tibia and fibula en route to a first round doctor’s stoppage TKO loss to former interim lightweight champion, Dustin Poirier

Featuring as an opposing coach on The Ultimate Fighter 31 this year, McGregor has been earmarked to fight former lightweight title challenger, Michael Chandler, however, the pair have yet to officially book a clash.

Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler violent altercation. TUF 31 Dana White separates two

Sharing a hugely-tense impromptu face-off during The Ultimate FIghter 31 last night, Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler were forced apart by UFC president, Dana White – with the long-time promotional leading putting on his skates to prevent a physical altercation.

McGregor, a former two-weight champion under the banner of the UFC, slumped to 0-6 on the reality television show during last night’s episode, with fellow Dubliner and grappling talent, Lee Hammond suffering a second round guillotine choke loss to Kurt Holobaugh during last night’s airing.

As for Chandler, the Missouri veteran, who coaches the veteran team on this season’s outing between the former and a group of prospects, moved to 6-0 as a result.

And poking fun at McGregor’s failure to appear during weigh-ins and his apparent lack of commitment to backing up contestants on his own team, Chandler butted heads with the former, before Conor McGregor violently pushed him across the Octagon with both hands.

Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler separated after TUF 31 skirmish

Offering to fight McGregor, a former undisputed lightweight and featherweight champion right there at the UFC Apex facility, Chandler was soon corralled by UC boss, White – who ran toward the Octagon in order to prevent another coming together.

Following the skirmish, McGregor put back on his suit jacket and exited the venue, with members of Chandler’s team of contestants jeering the Crumlin native as he left the facility.

After footage of the altercation between the duo surfaced earlier this week, McGregor was described as “whining” and “complaining” throughout the season – with editors of the show apparently casting the soon-to-be 35-year-old in a bad light

“I also don’t hink that this season of The Ultimate Fighter 31 is doing him (Conor McGregor) very well,” Anthony Smith said. “I think people are getting annoyed by him and that’s not necessarily his fault. It’s a lot of editing, you know what I mean, I just don’t think he’s being portrayed, he looks like a great coach but it’s also making him look like a baby. Like he’s kind of of whining, complaining, throwing tantrums.”

After his impressive victory at UFC Vegas 75, Arman Tsarukyan has his eyes set on the upper echelon of the UFC’s lightweight division. Tsarukyan has now made his intentions clear that if Conor McGregor does not return in 2023, Tsarukyan would be more than happy to face Michael Chandler.

On a two-fight win streak, Tsarukyan is proving that he’s a sensational fighter who deserves to be in the running for title contention. He defeated Joaquim Silva Saturday night at UFC Vegas 77 and finished the man in a brutal, dominant display. Now looking nowhere but up, Tsarukyan is hoping he gets his long-awaited opportunity to face somebody in the infamous top 5 of the lightweight division.

Considered one of the most underrated athletes in the UFC’s lightweight division, Arman Tsarukyan holds a lofty record of 20-3 and is 7-2 in the UFC. His only UFC losses come from fighters who are known to be some of the greatest talents in the world today, such as the lightweight champion Islam Makhachev and the Polish nightmare Mateusz Gamrot.

Arman Tsarukyan is ready to break into the top 5, now looking for an elusive Michael Chandler fight

While Michael Chandler and Conor McGregor are theoretically supposed to fight after the remainder of TUF 31 airs, it is looking more unlikely by the day that such a thing will actually happen. Conor McGregor has allegedly missed the cutoff date to re-enter the USADA testing pool and still fight in 2023, and also, recent legal allegations stemming from antics at a Miami Heat game will likely see the Irish superstar benched for the rest of the year.

On Twitter, Arman Tsarukyan made it very clear that he’d love to fight Chandler if McGregor no-calls no-shows in 2023. While it’s pretty unlikely Chandler and the UFC will accept his offer, anything can happen and it would be an absolute banger of a fight.

Conor McGregor (22-6 MMA) has shown fans his newfound weapon, during the preview for the upcoming Ultimate Fighter episodes.

The UFC superstar hasn’t been in the Octagon for nearly two years since fracturing his tibia and fibula during his trilogy bout with rival Dustin Poirier (29-7 MMA) at UFC 264 in July 2021.

Following a string of underwhelming performances, the leg injury he suffered against Poirier had most critics questioning whether McGregor would ever compete in the UFC again.

However, to the delight of Conor McGregor fans, the Irishman promised MMA fans he would mark his return to the cage as the best ever as he looks to further cement his legacy.

After a long recovery process, ‘The Notorious’ is now back in fighting shape and is preparing for his first test back against fan favorite, Michael Chandler (23-8 MMA).

Conor McGregor unleashes “titanium shin bone” on TUF contestant

Not only did McGregor promise fans the greatest return in combat sports history, but following his leg surgery the 34-year-old insisted his left leg would be “unbreakable” after being fitted with a metal rod even primitively labeling it as a “titanium shin bone”.

“What I needed was a titanium shin bone and now I’ve got a titanium rod from the knee to the ankle, the doctor says it’s unbreakable,” McGregor expressed after UFC 264.

“Once I keep building back, playing with the balance, then build the strength – and I have an unbreakable titanium leg. I’m like Arnie [Arnold Schwarzenegger] in Terminator 2! I’ve got all the tools to do this and I’m going to do it.”

Almost two years later, MMA fans are still itching to see the return of this new reformed, and regenerated Conor McGregor.

Unfortunately for those fans, the wait continues until McGregor renters the USADA testing pool and completes at least six months of testing before being permitted to compete again.

So, until then it is still uncertain whether the fight will be scheduled for some time this year.

In the meantime, the pair have recently filmed the most recent series of the MMA reality TV show, The Ultimate Fighter [TUF].

Conor McGregor was infamously on the show back in 2015 when the Irishman threw himself into the show providing moments that will forever be remembered by MMA fans.

In comparison, the Irishman has begun to do the same for TUF 31 and has even been going back and forth in sparring with some of his fighters.

Despite his eagerness to provide his students with invaluable experience, McGregor appeared to get a little too overzealous during a sparring session with a student whom he dropped with a destabilizing left kick to the body.

Following the viral clip, some have accused the former dual-weight UFC champion of being naive and selfish for going too hard against the guys he’s supposed to be training.

Regardless, this was one of the few glimpses of McGregor following his leg injury and from what we have seen the ‘titanium shin bone’ might be something for Chandler to look out for.

Conor McGregor (22-6 MMA) finally returned to fight fans screens after the highly touted TUF 31 aired its first episode on May 30th

After 30 series of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ (UFC), the coaching showdown between McGregor and Michael Chandler (23-8 MMA) is the first to be aired on ESPN in the show’s history.

While there was much anticipation for the show, the premiere did not disappoint, with MMA fans itching for the other 11 episodes.

The first episode allowed us to get integrated with the fighters and the theme of the show, being ‘Veterans Vs. Prospects’.

During the beginning of the show, we are welcomed by UFC President Dana White and both TUF coaches as they pick their teams.

Team McGregor who ended up the first pick elected to go with the prosects, whilst Team Chandler was more than happy to go with the veterans.

Instead of the coaches selecting fighters one by one as was done in the previous format, the coaches were asked to select either four prospect or veteran Bantamweight’s and then either four prospect or veteran lightweights by group.

Regardless of the team selection, by the end of the episode the show gave the viewers a tasty preview of some of the upcoming episodes.

Conor McGregor makes kids day with wholesome gesture during the filming of TUF

During the end of the episode, we see the Irishman making a business deal with a young boy. McGregor loves the kids UFC actions figures and decides to show his generosity, buying them off him for a pretty penny.

The young boy, who already seemed star struck by ‘The Notorious’, couldn’t believe his luck when Conor McGregor pulled out and handed him over a $1000.

“I’ll take these all off you man, yeah? I’ll take these off you, kid. Just a 12 ton, yeah? 12 ton, my man. Hehehe,” McGregor said.

This is just one of the many scenes that fight fans were teased with at the end of the premiere of new TUF season. While the show seems to have its best moments ahead of it, for Conor McGregor his team didn’t get off to the best start, with Team McGregor losing their first bout within the first ten seconds of the fight.

So far, its one-nil to ‘Iron Mike’.

Who would you rather as your coach, Conor McGregor or Michael Chandler?
