Former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley shared his thoughts on the Kyle Rittenhouse murder trial that has triggered mass hysteria in the United States.

In late August of 2020, Kenosha, Wisconsin became the epicenter of civil unrest. The police shooting of Jacob Blake caused the town to erupt in turmoil. During an incident on Aug. 23, a 29-year-old man was shot four times in the back and three times in the side of his abdomen. The on-duty police officer perceived him as a threat, and he was carrying a knife.

During the period of social unrest that followed, a 17-year-old named Kyle Rittenhouse shot and killed two men and wounded another. Rittenhouse attests at the first location, he was chased down by Kenosha resident, Joseph Rosenbaum. While Rosenbaum attempted to fight off an armed Rittenhouse, it would all be for naught. According to a witness, Rittenhouse fired four shots into Rosenbaum and he died shortly after.

Following the incident, Rittenhouse was chased down by a group of people. In another altercation, two men tried to gain control of Rittenhouse’s weapon. One of the men attempted to neutralize the 17-year-old with a skateboard. As a result, Rittenhouse would fire two shots and kill one person while injuring another at the second scene.

Tyron Woodley Mocks Rittenhouse On The Stand

Tyron Woodley isn’t buying Rittenhouse’s reaction to the prosecution. After being pressed by the prosecutor, Rittenhouse began to blubber and cry while recounting the incidents.

“If he don’t get that inner cry shit outta here! ?” Tyron Woodley posted in response to Rittenhouse.

After clipping Rittenhouse’s emotional breakdown during the trial, Woodley’s video made light of the now-18-year-old crying without shedding any actual tears. The presiding judge dismissed the misdemeanor weapons charge and many believe that paves the way for lighter consequences when the court renders a verdict.

Recently, the U.S. has struggled with police violence, which has caused political unrest in multiple states across the country. After mocking the 18-year-old, it’s clear Tyron Woodley isn’t buying Rittenhouse’s defense.

Jake Paul doesn’t see himself boxing Tyron Woodley again.

Paul defeated the former UFC welterweight champion in their much-hyped boxing matchup back in August with a unanimous decision victory.

However, Woodley was not satisfied with the scorecards and called for a rematch during the post-fight interview. He even agreed to get a “I love Jake Paul” tattoo in order to secure it to which the YouTuber-turned-boxer agreed.

It took Woodley some time to follow up on his end, but he eventually got the tattoo.

If it was a permanent tattoo indeed, Woodley wasted his time as Paul would eventually finalize a boxing matchup with Tommy Fury instead set to take place December 18 in Florida.

Paul: People Don’t Want To See Woodley Rematch

And as far as Paul is concerned, Woodley had his shot.

“Nah,” Paul responded to TMZ Sports when asked if a rematch would ever happen. “By the time he got the tattoo, we had already moved on to fighting Tommy Fury and making that fight negotiation happen.

“I don’t really think the people want to see Tyron vs. Jake Paul again. He had his chance. He had his chance.”

Paul certainly has a point as not many would be too keen on watching him box Woodley again.

Do you think Tyron Woodley will ever get a rematch with Jake Paul?

The controversial YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul has ruled out the possibility of fighting Tyron Woodley ever again in the boxing ring.

Paul defeated the former UFC welterweight champion, Woodley, earlier this year by a split decision. It was also the first time that any of Paul’s fights have gone the distance and was unanimously the toughest test of his boxing career.

Paul came into the fight having defeated another former UFC welterweight in Ben Askren, along with former NBA star Nate Robinson and fellow YouTuber AnEsonGib.

Despite the entertainment value of a potential rematch with Woodley, Paul has decided to put Woodley behind him and has eliminated the possibility of fighting him ever again (h/t BJPenn.com).

“Nah. By the time he got the tattoo we had already moved on to fighting Tommy Fury and making that fight negotiation happen,” Paul told TMZ Sports. I don’t really think the people want to see Tyron vs. Jake Paul again. He had his chance.”

Jake Paul Won’t Give Tyron Woodley A Rematch Despite Tattoo

Paul and Woodley originally made a bet at one of their first pre-fight press conferences that the loser had to get an ‘I Love ____’ tattoo with the winner’s name included. After a bit of hesitation by Woodley to follow through on the bet, he ended up getting the tattoo on his finger after Paul verbally agreed to give him a rematch if he got it directly after their fight.

Paul and Woodley were close to hosting an Instagram Live session together as Woodley got the tattoo, but it never materialized. Paul cited the tattoo deal expiring as the main reason for him not following through on his verbal agreement for a second fight.

Paul will face the undefeated Tommy Fury on Dec. 18 in Tampa, FL. Meanwhile, it’s unclear what could be next for Woodley in the boxing ring.

Dan Hardy claims that both he and Woodley have agreed to fight and is wondering what the holdup is on making it official.

Dan Hardy and Tyron Woodley have been involved in a war of words since Woodley’s boxing match with Jake Paul in August. Their exchanges started off publicly before landing in the DMs, which Hardy then also made public. Now, Hardy is looking to turn this “war” into a true one, with a battle waged until one side falls.

“The Outlaw” claims all the pieces are in place for this to happen. According to Hardy, both sides have already agreed on all the terms for a boxing match for the first quarter of 2022. But he says there’s just one small problem: Woodley refuses to put his name on the dotted line.

“My contract is signed. And I know that he’s got a contract sitting in front of him, and the deadline is approaching, and he doesn’t want to sign it,” Hardy said on a recent appearance on Submission Radio. “And I don’t know why. I don’t know what the deal is because terms have been agreed, money’s been agreed, date’s been agreed, rules and conditions, weight class—everything’s been agreed. But he hasn’t yet signed the contract. So you tell me. Tyron Woodley, why have you not signed it, The Frozen One?”

The “Frozen One” nickname comes from Hardy’s criticisms of Woodley’s performance against Jake Paul. Hardy assessed Woodley as being frozen and unable to sustain aggression against Paul and even stated that he looked like a “sack of shit” in the fight. Earlier this month, Hardy went as far as to say that if he were to face Woodley in a boxing match, he’d finish him in two rounds.

Now, based on the revelations made in this interview, he’ll have a chance to prove it if Woodley signs the contract. When asked who the promotion is behind this mysterious contract, Hardy offered the following response after a brief stammer.

“It’s a new promotion, but it’ll be the first quarter of next year in the UK. That’s the plan. That’s the deal. And the money they offered him is good, and they agreed to it. I know it’s more than he’s getting anywhere else as well. That’s a fact. So he needs to strap on a pair and sign the contract so we can get this done.”

Tyron Woodley had hoped to land a rematch with Jake Paul instead, even to the point of getting the “I Love Jake Paul” tattoo to seal the deal, a move that Hardy also criticized. But with Paul currently expected to box Tommy Fury in December instead, that leaves Woodley with the freedom to let out his tattoo-induced frustrations on someone else. And this Outlaw is stepping up as a willing volunteer to duel with “The Chosen One.”

Dan Hardy has not competed in combat sports since 2012 due to not being medically cleared to compete after being diagnosed with a heart condition. Hardy claims that his clearance is being finalized for him to compete in ONE Championship or any other combat opportunity, including this alleged boxing match against Tyron Woodley.

Kamaru Usman Says Fans Are Blaming Him For Tyron Woodley’s Downfall

Kamaru Usman says he’s been copping “mad blame” for the sad state in which Tyron Woodley’s career is ending, and that he feels disrespected by the former welterweight champ.

Since Usman captured his UFC title in dominant fashion over Woodley in 2019, their careers have taken wildly different trajectories. Usman has gone on to defend his belt four times, and looking better with each fight, has truly become a “Nigerian Nightmare” for the 170-pound division. The 34-year-old recently deposed Jon Jones as the UFC’s pound-for-pound king and will look to extend his win-streak to 15 fights when he faces Colby Covington on November 6.

Woodley, on the other hand, has gone from being one of the greatest UFC welterweight champs of all time, to fighting—and losing—to YouTuber Jake Paul. Not only that, the 39-year-old suffered the further indignity of permanently inking his love for Paul in a vain attempt to secure a rematch.

Usman Says Woodley Isn’t Returning Respect, Takes Dig At Jake Paul Tattoo

Usman hasn’t taken any pleasure in witnessing his former rival’s fall from grace, however.

When asked by Daniel Cormier about Woodley’s decision to have “I love Jake Paul” tattooed on his finger, Kamaru said it saddened him to see the former champ stoop to such a low, and that much of the blame for Woodley’s sorry situation is being levelled at him.

“Come on, man. Come on. It is sad, to where every time this man competes, everyone blames me for the outcome. I get mad blame and a lot of hate on Twitter and Instagram about it, that, ‘Oh, this is your fault. This is your fault. You did this to him. You did this to him. This is your fault.’ I like Tyron. Has there ever been a place where you saw me disrespect Tyron?

“I’ve always shown Tyron the utmost respect as a champion, as a black man, as a father. I’ve always shown him that ultimate respect. But for some reason, that doesn’t reciprocate from Tyron. It doesn’t reciprocate at all,” said Usman.

Considering Woodley’s former status as a super dominant welterweight champ, the four-fight skid that ended his UFC career was perhaps one of the swiftest and most devastating downfalls in the franchise’s history. Kamaru offered his critique of perhaps why Woodley failed to ever recover from losing his belt.

“As a champion who has suffered defeat, even in college, even in wrestling, you should know how to bounce back. And you should know that, ‘I have to overcome that. I have to let that go, make amends with that, fix the mistakes, and get back to the bag.’ And that’s just something that I feel like he hasn’t done,” said Usman.

Kamaru Usman

While Woodley may end his career on a five-fight losing streak, including a loss to a social media influencer, at least we can say “The Chosen One” has made bags of in the process. Or, can we?

“So why’d he get the tattoo?” said Usman when Cormier suggested Woodley made bank with his last fight. “You gotta get it in writing. It don’t mean nothing if you don’t have it in writing. Ask Deontay Wilder.”

What do you think? Does Tyron Woodley’s downfall lay at the feet of Kamaru Usman—or himself?
