Dana White is back with another instalment of his acclaimed retrospective video series and we’re starting to notice a pattern here. The UFC president seems to be phoning it it these days, appearing sparingly in the videos and filling the remainder up with footage from previous events, which is false advertising considering this was supposed to be the UFC 135 Video Blog 1.

The Cliff’s Notes of what we learned this episode is after the jump.

The UFC president seems to be phoning it it these days, appearing sparingly in the videos and filling the remainder up with footage from previous events, which is false advertising considering this was supposed to be the UFC 135 Video Blog 1.

Here’s what we learn in this episode:

• The Baldfather is still rich

• He hates bad  refereeing

Jake Shields thinks he should have been able to continue in spite of the fact that he was trying to single-leg the ref

• Besides being a hippy vegan, Jake is afraid of radiation from Cat Scans

“Rampage” is an alpha male and a fan of ejaculation jokes

• Jon Jones is not a fan of “Rampage” or his shenanigans

UFC president Dana White has released the first Fight Week video blog heading into UFC 135. UFC 135 will take place this Saturday in Denver, CO and will be headlined by a light heavyweight title bout as Jon “Bones” Jones faces Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.

Jones, captured the title with a dominating performance, stopping Mauricio “Shogun” Rua in March at UFC 128. The bout against “Rampage” will be his first defense of the title. For his part, Jackson, a former UFC and PRIDE champion comes into the fight riding a two-fight winning streak, looking to regain the title that he has said is “his.”

White’s first video blog takes you behind the scenes at UFC Rio as well as UFC Fight Night 25, which took place this past weekend in New Orleans. Also included are some clips from the first UFC 135 press conference, including a clip of the staredown between Jones and Jackson that left White and many of those watching the presser with smiles on their faces.

In order to determine whether or not Quinton Jackson can handle Jon Jones’ athleticism at UFC 135, we must first define athleticism.

Athleticism is the ability to use a variety of motor skills: strength, balance, speed, agility, endurance, coordination and leverage, to effectively perform a broad variety of sporting actions.

In other words, a superior athlete requires a variety of physical motor skills and the ability to use them effectively.

Using those criteria, let’s compare the two fighters and rate them on a scale of 1 to 10 to determine an overall AQ (athleticism quotient) for each fighter.

In a follow-up interview posted earlier this week by MMA Heat’s Karyn Bryant, No. 1 UFC light heavyweight contender Quinton “Rampage” Jackson was cool, calm and collected as he conversed with Bryant about his upcoming title bout with phenom, current UFC light heavyweight champion and youngest light heavyweight champion in UFC history, Jon “Bones” Jones.

Rampage said that he’s in the best shape of his life, is more motivated than he’s ever been and plans to prove it come fight night in Denver, CO.

“I came into camp in shape…I was motivated when I fought Chuck Liddell. I wanted the belt, but I was not this motivated.

“When I fought Wanderlei Silva for the third time, I really wanted to beat the guy and I was very motivated. I trained really hard, but I wasn’t this motivated.”

Bryant and Rampage also discuss the infamous motorboat incident and what Bryant would have done had she felt threatened.

Dana White gets behind the scenes for UFC 134, UFC Fight Night 25, and a press conference for UFC 135 in his latest video blog.

First we get to see White’s enthusiasm for the upcoming card and the sportsmanship shown during the latest events.

The Brazilian crowd is ridiculously loud as Dana White enters the arena and Dana sits cage-side, complaining about the late stoppage on Luis Cane.

Next, we get to see the entrances of Yushin Okami and Anderson Silva for the main event of UFC 134: Rio. The crowd erupts as Anderson retains his title. Dana congratulates Anderson backstage on his win, then thanks Okami for a great fight, knowing that “Yushin always comes to fight.”

Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira gets confirmation of his Knockout of the Night bonus, picking up Dana White in excitement and promising Erick Silva $5,000 for his knockout of Luis Ramos. Big Nog is very complimentary of Brandan Schaub, saying he “is strong with heavy hands.”

Next, the video jumps to UFC Fight Night 25 where Matt Riddle is being attended to after his fight with Lance Benoist. Despite the loss, Riddle is incredibly complimentary of his opponent, congratulating him on being 6-0.

Shamar Bailey asks to come train with Evan Dunham after his loss, to which Dunham replies, “You’re always welcome.”

Cody MacKenzie is angry after his submission loss to Vagner Rocha, barely willing to sit down to be attended to by the doctors.

Jake Ellenberger and Jake Shields enter the arena.

Shields is being attended to backstage and complains about the stoppage in his knockout loss. The commission official tells him he was “glazed over,” and then encourages him to get a CAT scan. Shields expresses concern over the radiation.

Jake Ellenberger hangs out drinking water, confirming that he has been paid and is in no pain after the fight.

Next, the video jumps to the UFC 135 Press Conference, where Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Jon Jones exchange a few insults and “Rampage” mocks Jones for his staredown technique.

It’s always nice to get a behind the scenes look—particularly when they involve these moments of amazing sportsmanship—at the fighters we cheer for and support. As Dana White states, “it makes me proud to be in this sport.”

UFC 135 headliners, Jon Jones and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson appeared together on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night alongside Dr. Phil. Jones takes advantage of the professional advisor asking, “You’re a doctor. What’s wrong with him?” Dr. Phil seems to be a “Bones” Jones fan. Jackson continues to share Rashad Evans‘ opinion that Jones is “cocky”.

UFC has been enjoying putting their opponents together in light hearted environments lately. Just last week, Cain Velasquez and Junior dos Santos enjoyed breakfast together during a press conference. It’s a formula that looks to be working quite successfully. Watch Jackson and Jones go at it with humorous jabs below:
