Quinton “Rampage” Jackson will be stepping into the Octagon once again at UFC 135, and will be looking to once again hold the UFC Light Heavyweight title.
Standing in his way is the very talented Jon “Bones” Jones, who is the youngest champion in UFC history.
With an unorthodox style, energy and unprecedented reach advantage, Jones looks to successfully defend his newly acquired belt for the first time.
As obvious as some of these are, these are the five areas that Quinton Jackson needs to focus on if he wants to have those 14 pounds of gold around his waist at the end of the night.

UFC Fight Night 25 had some great fights on it, but it may have been Joe Rogan’s interview with light heavyweight champion Jon Jones, and challenger Rampage Jackson, that stole the show.
The UFC 135 main event will feature these two very talented 205-pounders, who have been involved in some major controversy surrounding their fight, as well as an ongoing rumor revolving around training for the fight.
“Spygate” is a term typically used to describe the controversial NFL situation, when the New England Patriots football team was caught videotaping their opponent’s pre-game walk-through during the 2007 NFL season. The situation became very ugly for awhile, and left the Patriots without a first round draft pick the following year as punishment.
In 2011, the phrase has returned, but this time it involves Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Jon “Bones” Jones, and their respective fight camps.
The two fighters discussed this, and other topics, in the interview with Joe Rogan tonight. The video will likely be available at some point soon, but for now, here is a list of some of the better quotes.

Quinton “Rampage” Jackson is no stranger to voicing his opinion. Battling UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones at UFC 135 on Saturday, September 24 from Denver, Colorado, Jackson is full of confidence.
Speaking with Yahoo! Sports, the former UFC light heavyweight champion and Pride middleweight champion, “Rampage” is re-motivated and focused to battle Jones inside the Octagon.
“The guys here have got me in great shape, getting the right foods in me. I’m taking more supplements than I have before because I never really paid too much attention to that in the past, and everything has been perfect. I’m not going to lie and say I liked training this hard for so long – I’ve had one week off since I started training for the Matt Hamill fight in April – but I like the results. I like it that when I go for a run my iPod gets tired before I do,” Jackson stated to Yahoo!.
Never one to acknowledge his pleasure with the arduous training needed in MMA, “Rampage” is currently singing a different tune with his fight camp and preparation.
“I can’t believe the shape I am in for this fight with Jon Jones next week here in Denver for the UFC 135 main event and light heavyweight title! I’m weighing 221 lbs right now, nine days out. I’ve never been in this kind of shape before. I like it! It feels good not to be like, “Oh, man! Weight cut is next week!” The cut to 205 lbs is going to be easy,” Jackson commented.
With an overall MMA record of 32-8 with 14 knockout victories, competing since 1999, “Rampage” is fully aware that his time to regain the title is now.
“I am ready. But Jon Jones is in the big leagues now, and he’s not ready. He needed this fight in another couple of years’ time,” Rampage said.
Known for his athleticism and creativity inside the Octagon, Jones’s offensive arsenal is extremely unorthodox, yet very effective.
Not swayed by Jones’s arsenal of weapons, Jackson told Yahoo!, ” Jon Jones does unpredictable things but, really, we’ve seen it now bro, so it is not unpredictable any more. We’ve seen the spinning elbow four or five times, Jon “Bones” Jones. We’ve all seen it. Maybe Jon Jones is going to get me with some knees – I expect that, it is a fight – but I am gonna get him with my hands, too. You look at those Bambi legs and wonder what happens when I hit him.”
Surprisingly complimentary, Jackson did provide Jones with a level of respect during the interview (somewhat).
“I know he’s got some great skills and honestly I am impressed how fast he’s learned – he is the future of the division in my opinion, but I am the present. Rampage is the present of the UFC light heavyweight division,” Rampage was quoted as saying.
Looking to push Jones beyond his comfort zone, Rampage stated, “five rounds is a long-ass time to fight. It is 25 minutes of getting your ass whupped, and that is no joke. Jon Jones has had everything in his career go right for him. The one time he got a little frustrated, with Hamill, he used an illegal technique that any fan in the stands could have told him was illegal, but he said he didn’t know he couldn’t do that. Come on, man. He just don’t know what to do when things aren’t going his way. He couldn’t finish Hamill, so instead of trying something else he cheated and got disqualified.”
Supremely confident that he will exit Denver, Colorado the new UFC light heavyweight champion, Rampage provided Jones with one last sound byte, “Jon Jones will have a very sore booty at UFC 135 when I kick it all over the Octagon.”
Stay tuned to UFC 135 to see if the revelations of Rampage Jackson ring true and whether or not Jon Jones reign as the title holder will end.

The ongoing feud between UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones and current Light Heavyweight contender Rashad Evans has begun to trend online again.
As Jones wraps up final preparations for his upcoming title bout against Quinton “Rampage” Jackson at UFC 135, the 24-year-old has posted a new picture on his Twitter account to reveal the progress.
“219lbs and battle ready,” Jones wrote.
Evans replied shortly after and would proceed to mock Jones and his photo.
“Hand on the hip! U go girl! Go “Battle”! U look fierce like Bruno!!,” Evans said.
The verbal sparring is nothing new between the former teammates, however their recent attempts have appeared to be entertaining.
Evans was last seen at UFC 133 where he put on a dominant performance against Tito Ortiz, en route to a second-round TKO stoppage. “Suga” will now await the winner of Jones and Jackson, with a future bout to commence early next year.
With all that has transpired between Jones and Evans, a matchup is likely to culminate sooner or later, in a bout fans have been anticipating for awhile.

Next weekend, UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones will make his first title defense against UFC veteran, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.
Since the announcement of this bout, odds-makers and fans have heavily favoured Jones to retain his title over his opponent, simply neglecting the fact that Jackson was once a former UFC champion. Plus, Jackson’s dismal performances as of late certainly won’t help his chances with critics either.
Jones’ successful rise has ultimately overshadowed the abilities and skills of his opponents, leaving many fans to believe the 24-year-old is the future of mixed martial arts.
But in his upcoming bout against Jackson, he will meet one of the more formidable competitors and arguably his toughest challenge to date.
In this slideshow we’ll take a look at the abilities of both fighters and the components that will make this bout one of the more competitive title bouts of the year.
Here is five Reasons why Jon Jones vs.Quinton Jackson will be competitive.

It is no secret that Quinton “Rampage” Jackson is one of the most colorful personalities in MMA today, and he has had plenty to say amidst the buildup for his title fight with Jon Jones at UFC 135.
After all that, Rampage seems to have changed his stance on “Bones” trying to get the inside scoop on him.
While speaking to Yahoo! Sports, the former UFC light heavyweight champion essentially told Jones that there is no way he can get inside his head prior to their September 24 showdown in the Octagon.
“I don’t want to talk about the whole ‘spy’ thing too much more. I am glad I found out, I’m glad I told people about it, and I think it’s not an honorable way to prepare for a fight, but if Jon Jones wants me to, I’ll have a camera installed here at the Muscle Pharm in Denver and he can watch me 24-7,” Jackson indicated.
Rampage then had some choice words to drive the point home.
“He can have a live feed on me. ‘Bones’ can watch me brush my teeth in the morning and see what toothpaste I used, who I am training with and how hard I am working, and he can see which hand I wipe my ass with for all I care,” Jackson replied.
From there, Jackson also mentioned that he should have no problem knocking out the young prodigy, due to his chin being untested and Rampage still having big power in his hands.
“It don’t matter because there’s no real secret to what I really want to do in this fight: punch him on his big ‘Bones’ head. Knock him out. Jon Jones has never been hit in his career.
“He could have the best chin in the history of the UFC, or he could have the worst in history. We don’t know because he has not got hit yet. But we will know at UFC 135 because he will get hit by me.”
Additionally, Jackson actually gave the youngest UFC champion in history a little credit for his long limbs, speed and takedown ability.
However, Rampage said none of those aspects of the fight will matter as far as he’s concerned.
“But I know I am going to have to work at hitting him. He’s got them ‘Go-go-Gadget’ long-ass arms and legs and he’s fast. He’s also going to look to take me down so I have to let my hands go.
“But I’ve been here in Denver, training at the Muscle Pharm Gym at altitude, living in the gym—for real I live here at the gym until after this fight—for seven damn weeks to be ready.”
We are just a little more than week out from UFC 135, where Rampage Jackson looks at another title run when he squares off against the reigning 205-pound champion, Jon “Bones” Jones.
