UFC 150 goes down this Saturday in Denver, Colorado. The main event is a rematch between lightweight champion Benson Henderson and the last man to hold the belt, Frankie Edgar. The rematch was scheduled quickly after their meeting at UFC 144, which ended in a close decision win for Henderson.

Once the full card is in the books, it will have chewed through six or seven hours of prime Saturday evening real estate. I personally can’t think of anything better to do on a Saturday night than hole up in a basement with no company besides a Twitter feed and some pretzel chips. But I do know there are a few fringe types who like human contact and fresh air and crap. They want to DVR first and ask questions later. This slideshow’s for them.

This is a ranking of the entire fight card, from Facebook to finale, ordered from the most boring matchup to the most exciting. Information on where to watch and plenty of wild speculation also included.

Henderson vs Edgar: Odds and Predictions for UFC 150

On the heels of an amazing UFC on Fox card, the Zuffa boys look as if they will deliver their second night of incredible action over the course of only eight days on Saturday night when they present UFC 150: Henderson vs Edgar II.

The main event features a battle of highly-motivated and highly-skilled lightweights who are looking to leave with a big gold belt wrapped around their waist. When the cage locks behind Frankie Edgar and Benson Henderson, make sure that you don’t miss a second of the breathtaking action.

The lightweight action continues, as Donald Cerrone will battle Ultimate Fighter star Melvin Guillard in the evening’s co-main event. Both men were in the hunt for the belt in 2011 and are looking for their second win in 2012.

The middleweights are also well represented on PPV, as Jake Shields meets Ed Herman and former title contender Yushin Okami returns in a replacement bout against Buddy Roberts.

Kicking off the show is a striker vs. striker battle between featherweight yutes when 22-year-old Justin Lawrence meets a 20-year-old in a fight that should be electric.

Here are the B/R MMA odds and predictions for UFC 150.

It’s got everything: Damarques Johnson asking “What the hell happened?”, Ryan Bader asking “What the hell happened?”, and even Brandon Vera asking “What the hell happened?” Valentine McKee would’ve been proud.

Edgar/Henderson

The story of Benson’s mother, Song, is Oscar Pistorius-level heartwarming, and the same goes for Benson. Everything about the guy is captivating; from his humble beginnings to the heroes welcome he received upon returning home to South Korea with the lightweight strap, Henderson has been a motivated, hard working, class act through and through. That must be why you don’t see a lot of BEN HENDO IS OVERRATED TRASH ASSHOLE GARBAGE RAWWRR!! forums on the UG these days. “Why change because you’ve got the belt?” he asks, “I wanna stay the same fighter that I was before.” We’re sure he means with the exception of one small moment.

And then there’s Frankie Edgar, a.k.a The Little Engine That Could Except No One Wanted It To Because It Was Coming From New Jersey. Undefeated in the rematch scenario, Edgar promises that “Henderson will not defend the belt, because I’m taking it home with me.” Why, Frankie, so you can shower it in AXE body spray and hair gel?!! I think not, Mr. Edgar. I think not.

Cerrone/Guillard

Only twenty three seconds into this video, we are treated to perhaps the most brutal knockout of Melvin Guillard’s career, against Rick Davis at 60. The closest thing I could compare it to would be the beating the Shawshank guards put on Boggs, and like Boggs, Davis never walked fought again.

Guillard describes his old training partner as “The craziest white boy I’ve ever met.” That’s a compliment, right? Fun fact: Cerrone’s and Guillard’s birthdays are only one day apart, which in Guillard’s mind is as close to destiny as he can imagine.

And Cerrone promises fireworks, like we’d expect anything less.

Shields/Herman

Jake Shields has apparently been training everywhere from San Diego (alongside Phil Davis and Brandon Vera) to Abu Dhabi (where he apparently got to fly a jetpack) for his return to the middleweight division. Did I mention he got to fly a jetpack?! For some reason, I suddenly want to be a f*cking fighter.

On an unrelated not, if Shields somehow manages to knock Herman out on Saturday, we’re all gonna get laid. You heard it here first.

"Cowboy" Cerrone Fired Up for Battle with Melvin Guillard

Donald Cerrone has never been a man of many words. He prefers to let his work inside the cage do the talking.

Easily one of the UFC’s most active fighters, “Cowboy” competed five times in 2011 alone, which provided him plenty of opportunities to make definitive statements along the way.

Since coming over from the WEC, Cerrone has claimed victory in five out of six bouts. His lone setback in that stretch came at the hands of Nate Diaz back in December but Cerrone rebounded back into the win column as he earned a solid victory over Jeremy Stephens.

During this impressive run Cerrone has blazed up the ladder in the ultra-competitive UFC lightweight division and now finds himself amongst the elite in the weight class. In order to keep his momentum going he will need to get through former Jackson/Winkeljohn’s teammate Melvin Guillard. Stylistically, the match up is guaranteed to bring the noise and Cerrone shared his thoughts on the matter.

“It’s definitely going to be fireworks in this fight,” Cerrone told Bleacher Report. “[Melvin] is very athletic, explosive and he brings it. I’m looking forward to it. I plan on using all aspects of this game to defeat Melvin. It’s f**king going down.”

Anytime teammates, past or present, square off in the UFC there is an emphasis put on the situation. This is due in large part to fighters speaking out about fights they won’t take or the difficulties the organization has faced when attempting to put together particular match-ups. Most scenarios have come when title contention is involved and a victory over Guillard will certainly push Cerrone towards the top.

Nothing about these issues hold any weight as far as Cerrone is concerned. He pays no mind to anything outside of the fight and did not pull any punches when addressing the subject.

“I think too much focus is put on too much bullsh**,” Cerrone said. “Reporters and media are always trying to dig and find too much bullsh** to write about.

“Fighting is fighting. I don’t give a sh**. I don’t read anything on the Internet or anything else like that because I don’t care. There is too much other sh** going on in my life for me to read up on what people at home are saying.”

UFC 150: Donald Cerrone Has the Right Mentality When It Comes to Fighting

Donald Cerrone is a fighter in one of the most stacked weight classes in the UFC, the 155-pound lightweight division. He is a former WEC lightweight where he competed for a belt three times. He has a professional record of 18-4 [one NC], and is 5-1 since joining the UFC.

In addition to all that, he has the right mentality when it comes to fighting, and the sport of MMA in general.

This Saturday, Cerrone will face off against “The Young Assasin,” Melvin Guillard. Guillard and Cerrone are friends, and used to train together at Jackson’s MMA.

Normally, friends will refuse to fight each other, but both Cerrone and Guillard understand that when they’re going out there to fight each other, it’s nothing personal.

Friends refusing to fight each other is not exactly uncommon. This was seen in the recent saga of Jon Jones and Rashad Evans, who ended up becoming bitter enemies, and is being talked about with Georges St-Pierre and Rory MacDonald, who have dismissed any talks of them fighting.

Even before those four fighters, there was controversy with Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz, who had trained together prior to them fighting.

Fighters need to start realizing that going out there and fighting someone does not have to be personal.

Cerrone has said that he would fight anyone, including his “brother,” Leonard Garcia. Cerrone and Garcia train together at Jackson’s, live together on a ranch that they own, and are essentially brothers.

Cerrone spoke to Pro MMA Radio—transcribed by BJPenn.com—and said the following,

As for me, I will fight anyone. I will fight anybody. I would fight Leonard (Garcia), and I live with him. Does that answer your question? I would fight Clay (Guida), and he will still be my boy. I mean, this is what we do, we’re professionals and there is going to come a time when teammates are going to have to fight. That’s just the way it goes.

Cerrone understands that this is a business, and that fighting is only personal if you make it personal.

Guillard and Cerrone are going to put on a fantastic fight on Saturday and will still be friends when it’s over.
