Newly crowned UFC interim featherweight champion Max Holloway has it all to play for right now. Currently on a 10-fight win streak, ‘Blessed’ shares a place in the top five longest sprees in UFC history. Rubbing shoulders with the likes of Demetrious Johnson, Royce Gracie, Anderson Silva, GSP and Jon Jones, the future is very bright. After taking out Anthony Pettis in dominant fashion at UFC 206, Holloway earned his first taste of UFC gold.

Taking on the former lightweight champion in Canada last night (Saturday December 10, 2016) the Hawaiian native looked typically sharp. Now that he’s up there with the all-time greatest streaks, one obvious fight could prove pivotal in all respects. Having been recently promoted to full champion again, Jose Aldo has been a hot topic for Holloway lately.

Where’s Waldo?

Speaking during the UFC 206 post-fight press conference, Max Holloway discussed his impending unification bout against Jose Aldo. ‘Blessed’ was offended by Aldo’s actions over the recent months, and is even more adamant about making an example of the Brazilian now. As quoted by FOX Sports:

“This is my golden ticket. That mother (expletive) is always getting hurt and pulling out, it might as well have been the real belt,” Holloway said about Aldo. “Most true fans know the story. Conor’s (McGregor) coach even said I’m the best 145’er in the world and then Jose’s over here saying he wants to retire, unretire, then he gets the belt, now he has the belt, now he wants to go up a weight class instead of fight so I don’t know.

“Where’s Jose Waldo? Let me know when you find him. Team work [makes] the dream work. If more of us can look for him, we’re going to find him together. We’ll see what happens. Most true fans know the storyline and most true fans said this should have been for the real belt.”

Don’t Wait

“I don’t want to give up my son’s birthday and Christmas for Feb. 11 and he doesn’t show up. This guy has a knack for not showing up so we’ll see what happens. I’ve got to talk to Dana White first, I’ve got a brunch that I want to sit down and talk to him and Sean Shelby and we can talk business.”

“I was looking out for Aldo, I thought he wanted to fight and this guy’s saying he’s the best in the world, come and prove it. I don’t believe in guys waiting for title shots. That means that you’re a pussy, you don’t believe that you’re the best guy in the world,” Holloway said. “I believe I’m the best guy in the world.”

Challenge to McGregor

“If I’ve got to defend this thing 10 times before I get the undisputed (belt) that’s what I’m going to do. I’m going to prove to you guys, prove to myself and prove to everyone that I’m the best mother (expletive) walking on two feet and you guys are all going to witness it. This is the ‘Blessed’ show now and I’m taking over.”

“I ain’t over here begging for fights. If that guy wants to fight me, he can come fight me,” Holloway said towards McGregor. “I ain’t going to beg. We’ve got so (many) guys on their knees begging to fight him. If he wants to fight me, he can come see me.

“If he wants to fight the best, you come fight ‘Blessed’.”

What a guy!

After three straight stoppages in the UFC welterweight division, Donald Cerrone returned to face Matt Brown at UFC 206. Taking place in the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Canada, the pay-per-view card really delivered. Taking on a very dangerous and durable fighter in Brown, the always ready ‘Cowboy’ came to bang. Following two very close rounds of exciting action, Cerrone stepped up his game in the final frame.

Landing a trademark head kick that resonated around the arena, Cerrone took out ‘The Immortal’ with a brutal knockout. Unfortunately for Brown that’s three straight losses, for ‘Cowboy’ it’s a whole different story. Now eyeing a potential title fight in the near future, Cerrone got on the microphone post-fight to discuss his options.

Cerrone Wants To Fight In January

After taking out Brown with such a convincing finish, Cerrone told Joe Rogan that he wants to fight again next month. UFC on FOX 23 is set to go down in Denver, Colorado on January 28, and ‘Cowboy’ wants in:

“He’s a good guy, he was just trying to get in my head. I knew he was gonna come hard and look for the finish. What about Denver, Colorado in a few weeks? What about that one? Thank you everybody, I love this sh*t!”

Cowboy vs. Maia?

According to UFC insider and MMAFighting.com reporter Ariel Helwani, Demian Maia is the intended target:

Arguably the most dangerous fighter outside the champion, Maia has been wrecking opponents at 170 pounds. Since dropping to welterweight in 2012, the BJJ ace has racked up nine wins and two losses. Maia currently rides a six-fight win streak, with victories over Matt Brown, Carlos Condit, Neil Magny and Gunnar Nelson highlighting his spree.

Again willing to go straight in to training camp, Donald Cerrone’s commitment to the game is clear. Should he defeat the rampant Maia if/when they fight, surely ‘Cowboy’ is next in line for a title fight.

It was billed as one of the most exciting upcoming fights in the UFC 145-pound division, and last night’s (Sat., December 10, 2016) scintillating slobberknocker between Cub Swanson and Doo Ho Choi on the main card of UFC 206 from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, lived up to that billing and exceeded it by a monumental margin.

In what will most certainly rank as one of the best fights of the year and perhaps of all time, Swanson and Choi threw down in an all-out brawl that saw both men rocked multiple times only to rebound and continue unleashing unbridled offense on their equally strong-willed opponent.

Only heart kept these two warriors fighting on, and it was Swanson who ultimately outlasted “The Korean Superboy” thanks to his pressure and volume striking, but Choi can hardly be considered a loser. Not surprisingly, the fight took home a much-deserved “Fight of the Night” bonus for both men.

In our co-main event of last night’s (Saturday December 10, 2016) UFC 206 pay-per-view (PPV) from Toronto, Ontario, Canada, No. 5-ranked welterweight Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone went to war with ‘The Immortal’ Matt Brown.

Cerrone has been on an absolute tear since making the jump up to 170 pounds from the UFC’s talent-stacked lightweight division, finishing all of his contests at welterweight since making his debut in February.

Brown came into the contest riding a two-fight losing streak and looking to return to his winning ways with a massive win over Cerrone, potentially putting him back on track to his ultimate goal of one day becoming a UFC champion.

Both men landed a plethora of massive shots throughout the bout’s progression, however, it was ‘Cowboy’s’ big head kick in the third round of the contest that would send ‘Immortal’ down to the canvas unconscious. Cerrone would extend his win streak to four as he remains undefeated in welterweight.

UFC 206 went down live last night (Saturday December 10, 2016) from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and it featured a great middleweight showdown between Kelvin Gastelum and Tim Kennedy.

Gastelum, the No. 11-ranked welterweight in the UFC, unfortunately couldn’t make 170 pounds for his previously scheduled bout with Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone in New York last month, and was forced to pull out of the contest altogether.

When Kennedy was left without a dancing partner for UFC 206 after Rashad Evans was forced to pull out, Gastelum gladly moved up 15 pounds to take on the special forces sniper.

Kennedy had not competed since 2014 in a third round knockout loss to current No. 1-ranked middleweight Yoel Romero. Unfortunately for Kennedy the former Ultimate Fighter winner, Gastelum, was at the top of his game in Toronto, and was able to put away the UFC veteran in the third round.
