Jon Jones vs Alexander Gustafsson 2 is a fight that the UFC and its President Dana White are considering based on recent comments made by the boss.

This comes off the heels of reports that the UFC was considering Gustafsson vs. Yoel Romero for the UFC 230 pay-per-view event. It appears that this fight won’t happen but a bigger fight is in the cards.

White recently told ESPN that Jones vs. Gustafsson 2 could headline the upcoming UFC 232 pay-per-view (PPV) event. Now that Jones is cleared to fight once late October rolls around, he is allowed to fight again.

“It’s one of the greatest light heavyweight title fights in history and I expect the rematch to be the same!!!” White told MMA reporter Brett Okamoto.

There is some history between these two fighters as Jones successfully retained his light heavyweight title over Gustafsson back at UFC 165 in 2013 by decision. It was a close war that saw both men have their moments and one of the best fights in the history of the promotion.

The UFC 232 pay-per-view event is set to take place on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main card will air on pay-per-view at 10 p.m. ET while the preliminary card will air on FOX Sports 1 at 8 p.m. ET and the promotion’s streaming service, UFC Fight Pass.

The women’s featherweight title fight between Cris Cyborg and Amanda Nunes is also slated for this show. If the UFC did book a rematch between these two fighters then Cyborg vs. Nunes could end up as the co-headliner.

Miesha Tate Predicts Cris Cyborg vs. Amanda Nunes Winner

Former women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate predicts Cris Cyborg vs. Amanda Nunes winner and says Nunes “hits like a man.”

It’s unlikely that Cyborg has ever been an underdog heading into a fight but current bantamweight champion “The Lioness” just may be her toughest test to date. The two champions are set to collide at UFC 232 on December 29, 2018, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Tate’s Prediction

“I obviously think Cyborg is going to win, she is the woman to beat and until I see something largely monumental going against Cyborg, she is pretty much going to be the one I always pick against any other woman on this planet,” said the now-retired ex-champion on a recent edition of Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show.

“That being said, Amanda hits like a man. I can say first-hand that she hits so hard. And it looks effortless, she is very natural at it. She’s got this falcon-like wingspan, it’s very long,” she added. “Cyborg may be surprised by how hard she gets hit by Amanda. I don’t believe Cyborg is going to want to walk through the punches like she does with every other female she’s ever fought. You’re not going to want to do that against Amanda. She might be smaller than you, but she packs one hell of a punch and she could hurt Cyborg.”

Does Nunes Have The Power

Cyborg has yet to be knocked out in 22 professional fights. As a matter of fact, you can count on one hand how many times she has been hit clean. Regardless, Tate believes Nunes can be the first women to sleep Cyborg.

“She has the power to knock Cyborg out, I do believe that. I don’t think it will happen this fight, but if Cyborg doesn’t actually come in with a strategy and just wants to bully Amanda, she might get hurt,” she concluded.

“The Lioness” defeated Tate at UFC 200, rocking her with strikes before ending the fight with a rear-naked choke, unseating her from the top of the women’s 135-pound mountain.

Cana Nunes become the first women in MMA history to knock out Cris Cyborg? That remains to be seen, but Meisha Tate believes she definitely has the power to do so.

What do you think? Will Amanda Nunes become the first person to sleep Cris Cyborg at UFC 232?

Cris Cyborg Blasts “Traitor” Amanda Nunes

Cris Cyborg also thinks that it’s embarrassing Nunes is the first female Brazilian champion.

Cris Cyborg blasts Amanda Nunes as in her eyes she sees her as a traitor and explained her beliefs in a recent interview to promote their fight.

The UFC women’s featherweight champion will take on the UFC women’s bantamweight champion at the UFC 232 pay-per-view event. This bout will serve as the main event.

As seen in the main event of the UFC 222 event on pay-per-view at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, Cyborg successfully retained her title against newcomer Yana Kunitskaya. The finish of the fight saw her pick up a TKO win in the first round. This marked her latest bout with the promotion.

Cris Cyborg Blasts

Cyborg recently stated in a recent interview with FanSided.com that she believes Nunes doesn’t represent her home country and therefore, it’s an embarrassment that she is the first female Brazilian champion.

“‘Creonte’ is a Brazilian word that means traitor. I think it’s embarrassing that the UFC made Amanda the first female Brazilian champion and instead of representing Brazil when she fights, she calls herself American Top Team. She disrespects Brazilian MMA fans every time she walks into the cage as a part of American Top Team. This is the same gym as Colby Covington. He disrespected Brazil so badly that the UFC was worried they didn’t have enough security to keep him safe and had to move his fight against [Rafael dos Anjos] to the USA instead of Brazil.”

“Yet Nunes goes into the gym every day to train alongside Colby Covington and even shares the same coaches. Where I’m from in Brazil this would never happen. Imagine Chael Sonnen walking into Chute Boxe and training with Wanderlei Silva, Anderson Silva, or any of the coaches. Do you think they would have let him train after all the things he said about Brazil? No. They would have defended Brazil’s honor. Amanda doesn’t have that same respect for Brazil.”

Fight Date

The UFC 232 pay-per-view event is set to take place on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main card will air on pay-per-view at 10 p.m. ET. The preliminary card will air on FOX Sports 1 at 8 p.m. ET and the promotion’s streaming service, UFC Fight Pass.
