Former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping believes a rematch between Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo is the fight to make next.

McGregor hasn’t competed since his submission defeat to Khabib Nurmagomedov last year. Aldo, meanwhile, is coming off a decision loss to Alexander Volkanovski which ended a recent two-fight winning streak.

The two famously competed against each other in the main event of UFC 194 in December 2015 which saw McGregor capture the featherweight title following a 13-second knockout of Aldo.

And with UFC 244 approaching in November which is set to take place in Madison Square Garden, Bisping believes it’s time for them to run things back:

“That’s the fight to make [McGregor vs. Aldo II], if I’m honest,” Bisping said on his podcast (via BJ Penn). “Conor’s gotta get back in the winning circle. If he fights Khabib, more than likely that’s not gonna happen. Could he catch him with a good shot and rock him and follow it up? Yeah, of course he could. But more than likely Khabib’s gonna take his best shot, he’s gonna take him down and we’re gonna have a replay of what happened last time.”

“Aldo and McGregor, the buildup to that fight was huge. It ended amazingly in 13 seconds and well done to McGregor. I think people would love to see that because a lot of people feel that Aldo could do better in the rematch. And that’s definitely a very winnable fight for Conor. Of course we saw what happened the first time, the second time who knows what’s gonna happen? But it’s a very winnable fight.”

Do you agree with Bisping? Do you want to see McGregor vs. Aldo II?

Frankie Edgar will be making the cut down to 135 pounds. According to Edgar’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, the Edgar camp is targeting a November 2 debut from Madison Square Garden.

With the news of Edgar dropping down to bantamweight, two of the division’s top rising stars have thrown their names in the hat to welcome in “The Answer.” Those being Petr Yan and Ricky Simon. The pair each Tweeted out their respective challenges earlier this week.

Edgar is a former champion at 155 pounds and challenged for 145-pound gold multiple times. Unfortunately, he was never able to capture that second title, and after his most recent title bout loss to Max Holloway at UFC 240 last month, Edgar decided it was time for a change.

That change, of course, being dropping down to a division that many believe to be a natural fit for Edgar, who was a short featherweight. There are plenty of interesting potential fights for Edgar at 135 pounds; including against the likes of Henry Cejudo, Dominick Cruz, TJ Dillashaw, and more.

It will be interesting to see how Edgar fares at his new home of bantamweight.

What do you think about Simon and Yan challenging Edgar for his bantamweight debut?

Jacare Souza wants to run things back with Kelvin Gastelum and UFC 244 could be the ideal event for the rematch.

Gastelum was most recently outpointed by Israel Adesanya in their UFC 236 co-headliner for the interim middleweight title back in April. Having taken time off since, the 27-year-old is now ready to return. He is looking to compete at UFC 244 which takes place November 2 in New York’s Madison Square Garden.

And Souza is more than willing to compete with him on that card. He first replied to the tweet:

“I’d like to fight in NY one more time,” he tweeted. “Let’s do it!”

He then posted a custom poster of a fight between himself and Gastelum on Instagram:

It’s not the first time Souza has called out Gastelum for a rematch either. The two first collided at UFC 224 last year that saw the latter come away with the split decision victory in what was a very closely-contested fight.

Gastelum would only fight once since — his interim title fight defeat to Adesanya — while Souza would go on to knock out Chris Weidman before getting outpointed by Jack Hermansson earlier this year.

With both fighters coming off a loss, it certainly makes sense for the rematch to happen, and UFC 244 would be the ideal stage for it.

Do you want to see a rematch? Who wins?

UFC light heavyweight prospect Johnny Walker has received his opponent for his Octagon return.

After accepting a challenge from Corey Anderson to meet inside Madison Square Garden at UFC 244, the two fighters appear to be ready to put pen to paper. According to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, the UFC is close to finalizing the bout between Anderson and Walker. Both sides have verbally agreed to the fight, which takes place from MSG on November 2.

Anderson is currently on a three-fight win streak over names such as Patrick Cummins, Glover Teixeira, and Ilir Latifi. All of those wins came via unanimous decision. Walker is a much different story. The 27-year-old Brazilian star is on a nine-fight win streak in his mixed martial arts (MMA) career.

Walker was signed to the Las Vegas-based promotion after an incredible showing on Dana White’s Contender Series, dominating opponent Henrique da Silva after three rounds. Once in the UFC, Walker finished all three of his opponents in the first round. His later two bouts ended in under 40 seconds.

His last win resulted in a 36-second knockout win over Misha Cirkunov at UFC 235. Walker injured himself while doing the worm in his post-fight celebration. Many believe Walker could be the man to finally give Jon Jones a run for his money. Before he can attempt that, however, he has to get past Anderson.

What do you think about a matchup between Walker and Anderson?
