145 lbs: Arnold Allen vs. Makwan Amirkhan

Londoners are in for a great night at UFC Fight Night 107 with a pretty nice line up in most categories. The 145 pound bout features Arnold Allen (11-1) vs. Makwan Amirkhan (13-2). The young pair is likely to fight a close match since both of them are talented and are expected to knock off many of their opponents in the coming years.

Allen’s debut in debut in 2015 was notable. After submitting Alan Omer he took on Yaotzin Meza six months later and won a cracker of a fight. Allen has managed to evolve into a well rounded fighter with tenacity although he may seem to drift at times. Amirkhan on the other hand is an aggressive opponent with the unique ability to go for broke no matter what his position. This game-plan could work and we may seem Amirkhan getting the better of Allen by submission.

155 lbs.: Joe Duffy vs. Reza Madadi

Joe Duffy (15-2) faces off Reza Madadi in the 155lbs category at UFC Fight Night 107 in London. As we recall, Duffy started his UFC career with two amazing wins that did not last 5 minutes in total against Jake Lindsey and Ivan Jorge. His next bout was well fought as well where he dropped a decision to Dustin Poirier. He then dropped and submitted Mitch Clarke six months later. With 10 submission and 4 knockouts in the early round it won’t seem likely that many will bet against Duffy.

Reza Madadi returned to the cage after 18 months following brushes with the law. He dropped a decision to Norman Parke and then scored a knock out against Yan Cabral in their Rotterdam fight. He has submitted eight opponents and has a top game that is seemingly effecting. His wrestling prowess is better than most in the lightweight category. However, lack of speed and striking attack could be Madadi’s downfall. It would make sense to put a few bucks on Duffy who should get through with a unanimous decision.

UFC Fight Night 107 – Jimi Manuwa vs. Corey Anderson

UFC Fight Night 107 on Saturday March 18, 2017 in London is expected to be one of the hottest competitions in the year so far. Jimi Manuwa and Corey Anderson are set to take on each other in the headliner scheduled for five rounds. Alan Jouban and Gunnar Nelson also face off in the 170 pound co-event while Brad Pickett and Marion Vera are also scheduled to go hell for leather at each other as Pickett seeks to end his combat sports career on a high not. Makwan Amir Khan and Arnold Allen are part of the main card.

So who’s going to come out in the O2 Arena in London? Let’s try and look deeper than a crystal ball.

Poster boy Jimi Manuwa (16-2) vs Corey Anderson (9-2)

Manuwa is capable of putting up a good fight and even brags about it. He has also made no bones about picking at the others in the 205-pound division who have turned down fights against him. That said, the fact is that Manuwa aka ‘poster boy’ failed to make good of two opportunities. He failed to get the better of Alexander Gustafsson and was demolished at UFC 191 by the Brit, Anthony Johnson. So is his bragging really got any fuel?  At 37, Manuwa doesn’t seem to have enough steam although he could pull it off against mid-tier fighters including Corey Anderson.

Speaking of Anderson, he too hasn’t had a pretty good run in the last eight fights. He won only two of them. It could be that his skill set isn’t refined as yet. What works for him is that he seems to be a better athlete and can frustrate Manuwa but the question of whether he could keep up the pace over five rounds, is still debatable. Therefore, the gods seem to be in favor of Manuwa winning by a knockout.

Vicente Luque: ‘Once I’m in The Mix, I’ll be Two or Three Wins Away From Title Fight’

Vicente Luque is hoping to climb to the top of the welterweight ladder. Luque will take on Leon Edwards inside the O2 Arena in London, England tomorrow night (March 18) as part of the UFC Fight Night 107 event. Luque isn’t found on the official Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight rankings, but he hopes to change that […]
