Former UFC fighter Jeremy Stephens wants to put his controversial shove of Drakkar Klose to rest as he gets ready for his PFL debut.

Stephens is set to make his debut in the PFL after a long tenure with the UFC. He’ll face a tough test in his first PFL outing against Clay Collard, who defeated former UFC champion Anthony Pettis in last year’s opener.

Stephens was supposed to face Klose in a lightweight matchup in April 2021 before Stephens shoved him during a weigh-in staredown. The shove resulted in Klose suffering a significant neck injury that he recently said he still suffers effects from to this day.

Stephens hasn’t talked about the incident that much recently, and he’d like to keep it that way. He has no remorse or regret after the incident that could’ve ended Klose’s MMA career.

During a recent interview with MMA Mania, Stephens responded to Klose for what could be the final time.

“I’m done talking about him, brother,” Stephens said. “I don’t want to hear his name no more. S**t’s popping up. You know what, everybody can just eat it. I don’t care. It is what it is. That guy got knocked out right before I fought him. Is what it is, move on.”

Following the shove, the fight between Stephens and Klose was canceled due to Klose’s injury. Klose will return to the Octagon for the first time since that incident tonight against Brandon Jenkins at UFC Vegas 51.

As Stephens begins this new chapter in his professional MMA career, he wants to put arguably his most controversial moment behind him. He’ll look to get back in the win column in his new MMA destination following a five-fight losing streak.

What are your thoughts on Jeremy Stephens’ response to Drakkar Klose?

Former UFC fighter turned commentator Chael Sonnen doesn’t understand why some people think Petr Yan defeated Aljamain Sterling at UFC 273.

Sterling earned a split-decision win over Yan in the UFC 273 co-headliner. He used his grappling and opportunistic striking to get the better of Yan on the judges’ scorecards.

While Sterling won the fight according to the judges, some believe that Yan deserved to win the bout by winning Rounds 1, 4, and 5.

During a recent video on his YouTube channel, Sonnen revealed how he scored Sterling vs. Yan 2 at UFC 273.

“That fight was very clear 3-2. The two rounds that Yan won, regardless of what your lying eyes tell you, Sterling let him win. I don’t mean that from an anti-sportsmanship standpoint. I am not looking to take away from Yan. I thought Yan looked great. It was a matchup problem. It was a blueprint problem. It was a ‘getting taken down and Aljo on top’ problem. It was a round problem.”

Sonnen went on to recap Sterling’s win and point out why he believes Sterling won the fight on the scorecards.

“I’ve been stunned that people are pushing back and don’t think he won the fight. That’s not what I saw. I saw it exactly the way Aljo did. I didn’t see the 10-8 business. The control was there for a 10-8, but not the damage. So I’m out on lunch on that one. But the first three versus the last two (I agree with)…

“I thought Aljo was very dominant. I thought it was a glorious victory…I just think that some of you that are pushing back on Aljo are only remembering the last two rounds, which is very common. There was an organization called PRIDE where if you won the last parts of the fight, you could win the entire fight. It was just looked at very differently. In a 10-9 must system, you got 3-2, it’s basic math, as I see it. And I have been surprised at some of the pushback.”

While Sonnen scored the fight in favor of Sterling, some other MMA personalities such as Big John McCarthy and Josh Thomson scored the fight the other way. This has prompted Sterling to ask for apologies from his detractors, including his posting of an apology form on social media.

Sterling will more than likely face former champion TJ Dillashaw next, but a third fight down the line with Yan is certainly on the table. For now, Sterling is continuing to enjoy the fruits of his labor.

UFC Fight Night: Luque vs. Muhammad

At UFC Fight Night: Luque vs. Muhammad, the world’s top MMA promotion returns to the Apex Arena with a card headlined by an electric welterweight rematch between two of the division’s stand-out fighters.

Whilst the undercard may not be as stacked as some of the more recent Fight Night cards, there are still a number of intriguing matchups that have a lot of value to sharp-eyed bettors.

Join LowKickMMA as we preview, predict, and hopefully win some money betting on UFC Fight Night: Luque vs. Muhammad.

Vicente Luque vs. Belal Muhammad 2

A rematch five years in the making see’s top-ranked welterweights Vicente Luque and Belal Muhammad once again lock horns, this time in the main event slot.

Vicente Luque, who came up on top in their first fight, is once again the favorite. Betway currently has him priced at 1.57, whilst Muhammad sits as a 2.40 underdog.

Belal has improved exponentially since the first fight, but it is hard to overlook the finishing ability of Luque. We are going to go with Luque ITD at a 2.05 betting line.

Caio Borralho vs. Gadzhi Omargadzhiev

Two contender series alumni both make their UFC debuts in this middleweight matchup. As a result, there is somewhat more limited tape to study than usual.

However, Omargadzhiev’s wrestling prowess should be enough to see him through in this one. Borralho loves to embrace the grappling side of things, quite often to varying degrees of success. Should the fight go the floor, even if it is by Borralho’s efforts, expect Omargadzhiev to quickly take control and begin to dominate the fight.

We will take Omargadzhiev’s ML at 1.72.

Pat Sabatini vs. TJ Laramie

Pat Sabatini is a heavy favorite in this fight and with good reason. Currently undefeated in the UFC, Sabatini has picked up extremely convincing wins so far against the likes of Tucker Lutz, Jammall Emmers and Tristan Connelly.

Sabatini takes on TJ Laramie, who is stepping up on short notice to face Sabatini. Laramie is currently 0-1 inside the UFC, having been submitted by Darrick Minner in his debut.

Due to his heavy favorite status (1.22 on Betway), there is little logic to take Sabatini as a single bet, but he should be a solid piece of your UFC Fight Night: Luque vs. Muhammad parlay.

Drakkar Klose vs. Brandon Jenkins

Another heavy favorite who is a logical addition to your parlays would be Drakkar Klose. Curretnly sitting as a 1.18 favorite to win, he takes on Brandon Jenkins who is looking to pick up his first wins inside the UFC.

Klose has proven on numerous occasions that he is capable of competing with some of the divisions very best, having overcome the likes of Bobby Green, Lando Vannata and Marc Diakiese. Jenkins simply hasn’t fought this level of competition yet. As a result, we will predict Klose to win comfortably in this fight.

A Parlay with Drakkar Klose, Pat Sabatini, and Mounir Lazzez (who also takes on a short notice opponent) will give you a plus money 2.21 bet.

Jake Paul has given former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping an offer for a fight after naming him on his recently released ‘hit list.’

Paul is coming off of a year in the boxing ring in which he earned knockouts over former UFC fighters Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley. He’s expected to return to boxing later this year.

Paul included Bisping on a recently revealed list of potential opponents, along with Anderson Silva and Tommy Fury. Bisping doesn’t have any professional boxing matches on his record but has previously claimed that he was offered a fight with Paul before his Woodley bouts.

After getting word that he was one of Paul’s targets, Bisping responded on social media.

“Come on [Jake Paul] you do know I’m about your size? Surely that excludes me from your “hit list”,” Bisping tweeted.

Paul hit back at Bisping by mocking him for a knockout loss to Dan Henderson at UFC 100 and informally offered him a fight.

“I would know you out worse than Hendo,” Paul replied. “You’re an easy fight. But show me you can get licensed and I will show you $1M plus PPV… [eyes emoji], (using this emoji because Bisping can’t use it lololololol).”

Bisping serves as a commentator for ESPN’s MMA coverage and most recently was an analyst for UFC 272, featuring a welterweight grudge match between Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington. He hasn’t fought in any facet since retiring following a loss to Kelvin Gastelum in Nov. 2017.

Paul had been recently linked to a matchup with Julio César Chávez Jr. for his next boxing fight. Now, it appears he’s open to all potential opponents, including a showdown with Bisping in the ring.
