Floyd Mayweather Tweet Mocks Conor McGregor’s Inferior Wealth

Floyd Mayweather has certainly not relented in his efforts to keep the flames of a potential bout with Conor McGregor alive, if the boxer’s latest tweet is anything to go by.

MMA’s #1 superstar [McGregor] has entertained similar jibes from the legendary boxer, who has not exactly offered anything fresh behind his insults.

Mayweather’s tweet posted on Thursday (below) appears to mock Dana White’s $25 million offer to fight “The Notorious” last week, and compared his own net worth to McGregor’s. “Money” also stated that he believes McGregor is only worth a fraction of the $25 million he was also offered by White:

Mayweather, obviously capitalizing on Google’s inaccurate (yet numerically relevant) account of McGregor’s wealth, will surely know that the Irishman is worth a lot more than the figure he has mocked.

Forbes, for example, have McGregor’s income in 2016 as $22 million. Mayweather’s income in a year of inactivity [2016] inside the ropes came in at a not-too-shabby $44 million, according to Forbes.

Whether this is a PR campaign designed at keeping “TBE” a relevant name in the media or not, this latest chapter in the war of words is probably its most mediocre yet. No response has been heard from the McGregor camp, yet this will certainly not be the last we hear of this ongoing debacle.

Kelvin Gastelum Will Only Take No. 1 Contender Fight With Win Over Vitor Belfort

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ey4Qwpmstas

Kelvin Gastelum is coming off arguably the most impressive performance of his mixed martial arts (MMA) career. After hitting a low point by having his UFC 205 bout canceled due to reoccurring weight cutting issues, Gastelum fought like a man on a mission.

The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) season 17 middleweight winner met Tim Kennedy at UFC 206 in Toronto. Gastelum decimated his opponent and earned a third round TKO win.

The Mexican warrior recently spoke with MMAFighting.com. While Gastelum said he isn’t opposed to staying at 185 pounds, he still believes the 170-pound mark fits his frame the best:

“I’m not against (staying at 185), but I feel like welterweight is my optimal weight class. But I’m not against staying at 185. What I want is the No. 1 contender fight after this fight, whether it’s at middleweight or at welterweight. I want to fight for the No. 1 contender so I might get my title shot. But it doesn’t matter if I’m at middleweight or welterweight, I just want to fight the No. 1 contender.”

Gastelum’s next fight will be against Vitor Belfort. The two will share the Octagon on March 11 in Fortaleza, Brazil. Gastelum acknowledged “The Phenom’s” experience and how accustomed he’s gotten to being under the bright lights.

“He’s dangerous. He’s a very, very dangerous fighter. He’s been fighting for over 20 years. That’s something to respect. He’s been up, he’s been down, he’s been up again, he’s been down again. Right now, his last few fights haven’t gone his way, but he’s been in this position before so I’m not counting him out at all. I feel like he’s been in this position before, he’s been fighting for 20 years, so he should feel very comfortable coming into his fight.”

If Gastelum beats Belfort, it would certainly see him move up at least one spot in the middleweight rankings. That’s not enough for him, however, and he has claimed he won’t settle for anything less than a number one contender bout.

“That’s the only fight I’m willing to take. I’m not gonna take any other fight other than the number one contender fight.”

‘Homeless’ Brett Rogers Charged With Sexual Misconduct For Three Incidents

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dm4WMtjCRHg

The man who was once known for giving mixed martial arts (MMA) legend Fedor Emelianenko a tough scrap in Strikeforce, is now being charged for sexual misconduct in three separate cases.

Rogers was hit with two counts of fifth-degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of interfering with someone’s privacy (via Twin Cities). “Da Grimm” is said to be homeless and has been causing disturbances in the downtown St. Paul area where he is located.

Back in November, Rogers groped an employee at the George Latimer Central Library while they were riding the elevator. This is according to a complaint.

Earlier this month, another complaint was made. Rogers was said to have asked a man next to his urinal stall if he wanted to perform sexual acts. When the man declined, Rogers grabbed his rear. The man was able to make a quick exit and contacted police.

While at the Ramsey County Jail, Rogers was involved in another act of sexual conduct but this time he went even further. With his cellmate sleeping, Rogers was caught fondling him. Out of fear, the victim didn’t notify the guards until he was out of his cell.

Rogers claimed the cellmate was lying, but having already been jailed for the prior offenses things aren’t looking good for the former Strikeforce title challenger.

This isn’t the only time “Da Grimm” has found himself in trouble with the law.

Back in Sept. 2011, Rogers pleaded guilty in his domestic abuse case. He was arrested in June of that year for allegedly choking his wife and repeatedly punching her before she was unconscious.

Rogers’ children tried stopping him, but to no avail. When police arrived at the home, his oldest daughter told them that he would not only beat his wife, but he’d also beat the kids. Rogers received 60 days in jail, three years probation, and a $500 fine.

Three Bouts Including Jimi Manuwa vs. Corey Anderson Added to UFC London

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CD0VqheRZEw

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will be making its return to London on March 18. The UFC previously announced six bouts for the card including Brad Pickett’s retirement fight against Henry Briones. This morning, they announced three more bouts.

First, the official Twitter page of UFC Europe announced a lightweight tilt between Joseph Duffy and Reza Madadi. Then the account revealed light heavyweights Jimi Manuwa and Corey Anderson will also be on the card. The third new bout is a women’s bantamweight contest between Lina Lansberg and Veronica Macedo.

Manuwa will be returning to the place he calls home after his second round knockout over Ovince Saint Preux back in October. The win got him back on track after suffering the second loss of his career to Anthony Johnson. Anderson also got back in the win column in his last fight. After losing a controversial split decision to Mauricio “Shogun” Rua, Anderson dominated Sean O’Connell in a second round TKO finish.

Duffy’s first loss since Oct. 2011 came at the hands of Dustin Poirier at UFC 195. “Irish Joe” returned to the Octagon six months later to take on Mitch Clarke. Duffy submitted Clarke in 25 seconds. Madadi’s last bout was eight months ago. He TKO’d Yan Cabral and sent him packing from the UFC.

Lansberg had a rough go in her UFC debut. She was welcomed to the world leader in mixed martial arts (MMA) by Cris Cyborg. “Elbow Princess” was demolished. She’ll look to earn her first UFC win against Macedo. This will be Macedo’s second UFC bout as well. She was TKO’d by Ashlee Evans-Smith in her debut.

This UFC Fight Night event will take place inside the O2 Arena. UFC Fight Club members will get access to pre-sale tickets on Jan. 25. Those who are signed up with the UFC’s newsletter will gain access to tickets the following day. The general public will be able to purchase tickets on Jan. 27. For more information, visit the UFC’s UK website.

Sergio Pettis returned to the Octagon in style when he bested John Moraga at last Sunday night’s (Jan. 15) UFC Fight Night event. Pettis was in hostile territory as he was competing in Moraga’s hometown of Phoenix, Arizona. Nonetheless, Pettis walked out of the Talking Stick Arena with a unanimous decision win.

The official YouTube channel of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), uploaded Megan Olivi’s post-fight interview with “The Phenom.” Pettis said he felt in prime condition when he shared the Octagon with his opponent:

“I didn’t feel any ring rust or anything. I was more excited to be out there, blessed that my body was able to come out here and perform. This is something I love doing, this is my passion. I’m a martial artist and out there is my canvas and I feel like I was performing hard and expressing myself.”

While the decision was clearly in Pettis’ favor, Moraga had his moments where he landed a few clean strikes. The rising flyweight admitted he had his bell rung for some of those punches.

“I mean he did hit me with some hits that kind of were like, ‘oh I should probably put my hands up,’ but he hit me with some good shots. [He] definitely had me a little shaken from some of em. He has some hard power and at 32 years old, he’s throwing some bombs out there.”

After the fight, Pettis called out Jussier Formiga to a bout for UFC 209 on March 4. Pettis said he doesn’t want to waste time before throwing some more leather.

“I just wanna get back in there right away. I feel like my body is okay besides the calf. But I feel like my body’s okay and I wanna take advantage of my youth. I’m only 23 years old. [I] really don’t have much injuries. I had suffered one LCL injury and after having such a long layoff, I realized I gotta really take care of my body.”
