LowKick MMA will be bringing you UFC Vegas 12: Hall vs. SilvaResults throughout the night (Sat. 31st. October 2020) from the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Ultimate Fighter 17 finalist, Uriah ‘Primetime’ Hall looks to notch his third consecutive victory and arguably the most high-profile win of his career, as he headlines the Las Vegas event opposite division icon, Anderson ‘The Spider’ Silva.
35-year-old Spanish Town native, Hall has scored recent wins over both Antonio Carlos Junior and Bevon Lewis over the last two-years, return to the win-column after a knockout loss to one-time middleweight championship challenger, Paulo Costa. The Fortis MMA trainee has won eight separate times in the Octagon, scoring other noteworthy victories over the likes of recently minted Bellator middleweight champion, Gegard Mousasi, and one-time light heavyweight championship chaser, Thiago Santos.
Limited to just one triumph since July of 2013, veteran Brazilian icon, Silva seems to be on the verge of a somewhat retirement from the sport, or at least the end of his promotional stint, having featured a staggering twenty-four times under the organization’s scrutiny.
A dominant former middleweight champion, Silva had scored an incredible ten separate successful title defences, including infamous victories over the likes of Rich Franklin, Dan Henderson, Chael Sonnen (x2), and compatriot, Vitor Belfort.
Taking co-main event honours, streaking Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu ace, Bryce ‘Thug Nasty’ Mitchell attempts to extend his undefeated professional run to fourteen fights. The 26-year-old Arkansas native will sport his requested camouflage fight kit for the first time tonight, as he meets with featherweight mainstay, Andre ‘Touchy’ Fili.

Anderson Silva isn’t ruling out competing for promotions outside the UFC. Anderson Silva isn’t ruling out competing for promotions outside the UFC.
However, it wasn’t very clear if this would be Silva’s last fight in the UFC or in mixed martial arts as a whole. And after a recent interview with ESPN’s Ariel Helwani, it looks like “The Spider” is keeping his options open beyond the Las Vegas-based promotion.
“Probably this is my last fight in UFC, probably,” Silva said (via MMA Mania). “But let’s see. This is the last fight but probably something change. Let’s go see the result. I am very focused right now in this fight, and then let’s go see the future.”
Silva notably had two fights left on his UFC deal but will be competing just one more time for the promotion. And if he wants to compete for other promotions beyond that, there is nobody that can stop him.
“I do (have two fights left), but fight is fight and maybe something change, but this is last fight in UFC, probably,” Silva added. “It’s tough to talk about whether this is the last or not. But in UFC, this is probably the last one. I have my contract, I signed, and I do my best. I work, do my part because I’m a professional.
“And of course, maybe I don’t fight anymore in UFC and of course I go fight outside. Why? Because the people can’t stop my job. That don’t make sense. If this is not the last fight in UFC, then okay. But if this is the last fight in UFC, of course I go fight in other event. I don’t know, but right now it is he last fight in UFC.”
A win on Saturday — which would be just his second in his last nine outings — could probably convince Silva to remain in the fight game for a few more years.
If Silva leaves the UFC, where would you like to see him compete?

UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya is one person who will be paying close attention to the upcoming Uriah Hall vs. Anderson Silva fight this weekend.
The pair will collide in a middleweight bout that will headline UFC Vegas 12 on Saturday in what is expected to be Silva’s final mixed martial arts fight.
Silva, of course, is Adesanya’s idol and it looks like he will be getting a chance to sit ringside and watch the former middleweight king’s final fight.
While he is not counting “The Spider” out, Adesanya believes Hall can come away with the victory if he simply sticks to the basics.
“I just want to watch something crazy, because I think Uriah is gonna bring all that. Uriah should be basic and he can win this fight, but Anderson is crafty,” Adesanya told MMA Junkie. “I’ve been in there with him, I’ve watched him for years and he can win this fight quite easily.
“He might even stop Uriah but, I’m telling you, if Uriah just sticks to basics he might give him problems, but this is fighting.”
Adesanya notably faced Silva in their UFC 234 fight in February 2019 that saw “The Last Stylebender” come out on top via unanimous decision.
Adesanya admits he would have preferred to be the one sending Silva off but does view Hall as a good stylistic matchup if this is indeed his last-ever fight in mixed martial arts.
“It’s a good way to send him off,” Adesanya added. “I would have liked to be the guy to send him off, but Uriah I think is a good stylistic matchup to send him off.”
Silva hasn’t competed since a TKO loss to Jared Cannonier in May last year. Hall, meanwhile, is on a two-fight winning streak and last competed in September last year when he defeated Antonio Carlos Junior via split decision.
