The UFC Vegas 43 bonuses have been released.

The event took place in Las Vegas, Nevada at the UFC Apex facility. Headlining the card was a clash between Ketlen Vieira and Miesha Tate. This fight saw the first round of Tate clinching with her up against the fence. Vieira went for a takedown, but was stuffed. Vieira was the quicker fighter. Tate was closing in when she threw shots and usually ate punches as a result.

The second round featured Tate throwing her hands more with a quicker pace and even landed a front kick to the face. They exchanged more strikes in the third round. Tate went for a takedown, but it was stuffed. Tate landed a big time right hand to open the fourth round. Tate did get a takedown and took her back, but Vieira stood up. The judges gave the win to Kelten by decision.

The co-main event saw more action between Michael Chiesa and Sean Brady. The first round was weird as in the first minute, Chiesa got kicked in the nuts to start off the fight while Brady got poked in the eye. Brady eventually got to take him down twice, but Chiesa managed to get back to his feet pretty quickly without taking damage. Brady had a cut under left eye and a bloody nose. In the second round, Brady got a takedown and took his back where he kept him there for the rest of the round. Brady got the decision win.

Taila Santos got some extra cash for submission win over Joanne Calderwood. Peep the full list of performance bonus winners below.

Ketlen Vieira

#7 ranked UFC bantamweight contender, Ketlen Vieira has lodged the biggest victory of her UFC run to date — taking home a unanimous decision (48-47, 48-47, 49-46) triumph against former division queen, Miesha Tate to round out UFC Vegas 43.

Tate outlands Vieira in regards to significant strikes in the opening round, however, the Brazilian appears to be grabbing the former champion’s attention with her powerful hands.

Another close second round affair that likely goes to Vieira. Tate finding her range better in that frame with her hands, but it’s more of the same in regards to the power output from the former.

Tate yet again finds herself ahead on the significant strikes side of this equation, however, akin to the previous two rounds, Vieira is landing the heavier shots from the back foot on occasion to boot.

We see a fifth and final round between these two bantamweight contenders, who turn in another completely close and competitive fourth round.

More pressure from the former champion, Tate in the fifth round but Vieira opens up the face of the Washington native with her powerful punching in the final round, and takes the result back home with a unanimous decision victory — the most high-profile win of her UFC tenure to date.

Below, catch the highlights from Ketlen Vieira’s unanimous decision win over Miesha Tate

Taila Santos

#10 ranked UFC flyweight contender, Taila Santos made short work of the returning #5 rated, Joanne Wood on short notice on the main card of UFC Vegas 43 tonight — stopping the Scottish striker with a late opening round rear-naked choke.

Santos, who now moves to 4-1 in her five-fight UFC stint which began back in February 2019 in her native Brazil, replaced original opponent of Wood, Alexa Grasso on short notice. And will likely gazump Wood into the top-5 of the division come the release of the updated rankings next week.

The 28-year-old Santa Catarina native immediately dominated the center of the Octagon with her stature and forward movement, stalking Wood with strikes on the feet, eventually dropping the latter with a barrage of punches at the fence.

Taking the back after attempting to soften Wood up on the ground, Santos eventually took her back during a brief scramble, establishing a pair of hooks and locking up a rear-naked choke win with just over 10 seconds remaining in the opening frame.

Below, catch the highlights from Taila Santos’ stoppage win over Joanne Wood.

Joanne Wood Disses Murphy For Shevchenko Loss: ‘Die On Your Sword’

Joanne Wood Murphy

Joanne Wood (formerly Calderwood) was not impressed with Lauren Murphy’s performance against Valentina Shevchenko.

Wood was the last person that Murphy had to beat, in order to secure her shot with the flyweight champ, in a close fight that resulted in a split decision. Then Murphy went on to face Shevchenko, but lost in devastating fashion, getting TKOd in the fourth round of a one-sided fight.

Ahead of her return to the Octagon at UFC Vegas 43, Wood bashed Murphy for her performance against Shevchenko, while speaking on The MMA Hour. She said that Murphy did not really do anything to push the pace, and that she should have taken more risks to beat the champ.

“I feel like Lauren Murphy, she scraped that win from me, and then she went out and did that performance. At least go out on your sword,” Wood said (h/t Sportskeeda).

“Go out there and take it to the champ,” Wood continued. “For me watching it as a fan, I was like, there’s nothing happening here. I know Valentina’s a calculated killer, but you can at least go out there and make it exciting. Die on your sword.”

Joanne Wood might have the chance to prove that she can do better than Lauren Murphy, if she is able to get past Taila Santos, this weekend. She is one of the few contenders at 125lb that the dominant champion has not already beaten, so it does not take more than a win or two to put someone into title contention in the flyweight division.

Either way, the important thing is for Wood to get back on track tonight at UFC Vegas 43. From there, time will tell if she gets the next title shot against the champ, Valentina Shevchenko.
