Uriah Hall has accused UFC middleweight king Israel Adesanya of picking easy fights to prolong his reign as champion.
The Ultimate Fighter runner-up believes ‘Stylebender’ is not fighting the top ranked contenders and is instead looking for good style matchups that will allow him to shine on fight night.
Speaking ahead of his fight against Anderson Silva this weekend, Hall told media that Adesanya trying to line up a fight with Jared Cannonier was evidence that the champ wants the easy fights.
“Adesnaya is picking his fights, man,” Hall said. “He sees what I see. He sees holes in all these guys, and he’s already picking (Jared) Cannonier. He’s looking for easy fights. Yeah, I said it.
Hall doesn’t think the champion will be interested in facing him because he won’t be an easy night’s work. Nevertheless ‘Primetime’ is intent on getting his shot at UFC gold and will continue beating contenders until he gets it.
“So I know why he’s picking certain fights, but I’m dynamic, especially where I’m at right now,” Hall said. “I’m laser focused, so it’s a matter of time. I’m just going to play the politics card and whoever the UFC needs me to beat and get to the top.”
Hall is riding a two-fight win streak. The 36-year-old is currently propping up the middleweight top 10 and is determined to propel himself into title contention by taking out middleweight legend Silva this coming weekend.
“Yeah, this is one of the biggest fights,” Hall said. “Anderson Silva is a legend. I’m just excited to go out there against a guy I watched growing up. To me, I made it. That’s how I look at it.” (Transcribed by MMA Junkie)

UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya is one person who will be paying close attention to the upcoming Uriah Hall vs. Anderson Silva fight this weekend.
The pair will collide in a middleweight bout that will headline UFC Vegas 12 on Saturday in what is expected to be Silva’s final mixed martial arts fight.
Silva, of course, is Adesanya’s idol and it looks like he will be getting a chance to sit ringside and watch the former middleweight king’s final fight.
While he is not counting “The Spider” out, Adesanya believes Hall can come away with the victory if he simply sticks to the basics.
“I just want to watch something crazy, because I think Uriah is gonna bring all that. Uriah should be basic and he can win this fight, but Anderson is crafty,” Adesanya told MMA Junkie. “I’ve been in there with him, I’ve watched him for years and he can win this fight quite easily.
“He might even stop Uriah but, I’m telling you, if Uriah just sticks to basics he might give him problems, but this is fighting.”
Adesanya notably faced Silva in their UFC 234 fight in February 2019 that saw “The Last Stylebender” come out on top via unanimous decision.
Adesanya admits he would have preferred to be the one sending Silva off but does view Hall as a good stylistic matchup if this is indeed his last-ever fight in mixed martial arts.
“It’s a good way to send him off,” Adesanya added. “I would have liked to be the guy to send him off, but Uriah I think is a good stylistic matchup to send him off.”
Silva hasn’t competed since a TKO loss to Jared Cannonier in May last year. Hall, meanwhile, is on a two-fight winning streak and last competed in September last year when he defeated Antonio Carlos Junior via split decision.

UFC Middleweight Uriah Hall has taken shots at his former scheduled opponent Yoel Romero after he pulled out from the booked bout between the two.
After sharing a poster for his upcoming fight against UFC great Aderson Silva a fan commented stating that he wished Hall was still booked to face Romero expressing that this would help the Middleweight move up the rankings. Hall responded to this comment expressing his disregard for the rankings and taking aim at Romero for pulling out of the fight.
“fuck the rankings it’s a joke there’s no way I’m gonna sit around and have a bunch of motherfuckers that don’t know me tell me where I am “ranked” and I will fight that bitch he punted out because he knew I was going to destroy his ass the only reason why he didn’t want to fight me because Jones left the light heavyweight belt so his bitch ass decided to move up”
There has been no official announcement from Romero or his team regarding a shift in weight classes, however, this is something the fighter had spoken of in the past citing his former training partner Jon Jones as a reason not to make the move.
