UFC Middleweight Uriah Hall has taken shots at his former scheduled opponent Yoel Romero after he pulled out from the booked bout between the two.

After sharing a poster for his upcoming fight against UFC great Aderson Silva a fan commented stating that he wished Hall was still booked to face Romero expressing that this would help the Middleweight move up the rankings. Hall responded to this comment expressing his disregard for the rankings and taking aim at Romero for pulling out of the fight.

“fuck the rankings it’s a joke there’s no way I’m gonna sit around and have a bunch of motherfuckers that don’t know me tell me where I am “ranked” and I will fight that bitch he punted out because he knew I was going to destroy his ass the only reason why he didn’t want to fight me because Jones left the light heavyweight belt so his bitch ass decided to move up”

There has been no official announcement from Romero or his team regarding a shift in weight classes, however, this is something the fighter had spoken of in the past citing his former training partner Jon Jones as a reason not to make the move.

While the Romero fight is off for Hall he will be facing the legendary Anderson Silva on October 31. According to the former champion, this will likely be his last fight. “Maybe this is my last fight. That’s why I’m training hard every day, doing my best. My whole team has come to help me. Everybody is in quarantine to start training. I’m very excited because I think this is my last performance inside the cage, for my fans. We’ll see” Silva said to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto. Silva comes into this fight on a two-fight losing streak to top-five ranked contender Jared Cannonier and the champion Israel Adesanya. Hall enters this matchup the opposite with a streak of two wins.

Anderson Silva’s fighting future is currently quite unclear.

The 41-year-old former longtime middleweight kingpin, who’s coming off of a decision victory over Derek Brunson at UFC 208 this past February in Brooklyn, was scheduled to take on rising contender Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 212 on June 3, 2017 in Brazil, but Gastelum was forced to withdraw from the bout after being flagged by USADA (United States Anti-Doping Agency) for an anti-doping violation.

Silva recently announced that he had ended his training camp and that he would not fighting at UFC 212, while hinting at a possible retirement in the process.

Today (May 9, 2017), however, Silva was called out by No. 12-ranked Uriah Hall on Twitter:

Silva and Hall were scheduled to do battle at UFC 198 in Brazil last year, but “The Spider” was forced out of the bout after suffering a gall bladder injury.

Hall has hit some rough times as of late, losing three straight bouts to the likes of Robert Whittaker, Brunson and Gegard Mousasi, but he remains an exciting fighter and a known name. He may represent the perfect challenge for Silva at this stage of the Brazilian’s career.

Is this a fight you’d like to see?

Unfortunate news broke earlier this week indicating that former long-time UFC middleweight champion Anderson “The Spider” Silva would be forced out of his upcoming UFC 198 (May 14, 2016) bout with Uriah Hall in his home of Curitiba, Brazil.

Apparently Silva was suffering from abdominal pain earlier in the week that required him to undergo immediate gallbladder surgery.

“The Spider” has since undergone a successful surgery, and it seems as if a timeline for his return has been discussed.

Check out the UFC’s comments courtesy of UFC.com below:

“Earlier this week, medical personnel determined that Anderson Silva was suffering from inflammation of the gallbladder, a serious ailment that forced him off the UFC 198 card. As a result of the condition, Silva had successful, minimally invasive surgery in Brazil today to remove the gallbladder. He is now resting comfortably following the procedure.

“The recovery period following the surgery is estimated at 4-6 weeks and Silva will be reexamined by doctors before being cleared to return to training.”

At 41-years-old, this is definitely a setback that Silva could’ve done without especially since he was looking to bounce back from a disappointing decision loss to Michael Bisping last February.

However, “The Spider” has seemed adamant on continuing his fighting career despite his age.

Would you like to see him re-booked against Hall upon his return?

Following the unfortunate gall bladder injury suffered by his scheduled opponent Anderson Silva, Uriah Hall will have to wait before taking the Octagon against one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time.

Hall has been removed entirely from the colossal Brazil event this Saturday according to MMA Fighting. The Jamaican-American striking sensation was set to meet Silva in a middleweight clash on the main card of UFC 198 from Curitiba, Brazil’s Arena de Baixada soccer stadium.

The main card will now be joined by a match-up between welterweights Warlley Alves and Bryan Barberena in place of Silva vs. Hall.

According to Guilherme Cruz’s Twitter, ‘The Spider’ underwent successful surgery and will be cleared from the hospital on Friday.

The loss of the bout is surely a huge blow to the stacked Brazilian showdown card, as Silva is widely regarded as one of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time. Hall figured to give ‘The Spider’ a great challenge as the young up-and-comer faced the biggest fight of his career.

Silva (33-7-1) was coming off of an upset loss to No. 4-ranked Michael Bisping in late February via unanimous decision. Silva hasn’t won a bout in nearly four years, since his UFC 183 win over Stockton native Nick Diaz was ruled a no-contest after the Brazilian tested positive for various banned substances.

Hall (12-6) comes off of a unanimous decision loss to the flourishing Robert Whittaker back at UFC 193 in November. ‘Prime Time’ had previously been on a two-fight win streak after defeating Oluwale Bamgbose and Gegard Mousasi, and had won five of his previous six bouts.

UFC 198 is set to take place this Saturday (May 14th, 2016) and is headlined by a heavyweight title clash between Brazilian champ Fabricio Werdum, and challenger Stipe Miocic.

Well, the injury bug always seems to strike on the grandest stages in the sport of mixed martial arts (MMA), and that has once again proven to be true regarding this weekend’s (May 14, 2016) upcoming blockbuster UFC 198 card from Curitiba, Brazil.

According to Yahoo! Sports, former long-time middleweight title holder Anderson “The Spider” Silva has been forced out of his scheduled main card bout with former The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) finalist Uriah Hall.

Apparently Silva has been suffering abdominal pains that may even require him to undergo gall bladder surgery.

The UFC’s medical consultant, Jeff Davidson, commented on the situation:

“Anderson developed abdominal discomfort [Monday and] further evaluation today is consistent with acute cholecystitis,” Davidson said Tuesday. “He will be seen by a surgeon today for possible surgery.”

While this news is certainly unfortunate for fans and for the card, it obviously also serves as quite a negative setback for the 41-year-old Silva as well.

“The Spider” is coming off of a disappointing decision loss to Michael Bisping last February after spending a year on the sidelines due to a 2015 positive drug test for performance-enhancing-drugs (PEDs).

The UFC appears to be searching for a possible replacement opponent for Silva, although it may be difficult to find a man willing to accept the daunting task of clashing with the ultra-dangerous Hall on less than a week’s notice.

Stay tuned as more news becomes available on the situation.
