So many people are supposedly out to get him, Jon Jones is scared to eat out at restaurants.

Jones recently received a 15-moth USADA suspension. He was suspended for failing a drug test prior to his UFC 214 knockout over Daniel Cormier. The banned substance in question was anabolic steroid Turinabol.

But the troubled former champion maintained his innocence throughout. The situation was somehow floating before USADA for over a year. The UFC’s anti-doping partner finally made the call and caused widespread controversy in MMA.

Jones and his team still claim someone tainted his supplements or even food. Jones is apparently so worried that he won’t even eat out in public.

Public Out To Get ‘Bones?’

That’s the case according to Jones’ longtime coach Mike Winkeljohn.

The JacksonWink head coach recently told Submission Radio (via MMA Mania) that his troubled star is afraid to eat out because of fear someone might contaminate his food:

“Well, I think [USADA] should have made a deal a long time ago. There’s no doubt something got in there somehow, but it’s scary now. Jon’s even scared to eat out, he’s scared to be anywhere. He’s like, gosh, what if that waiter doesn’t like me, the bus boy doesn’t like me? You know? Who knows what’s going to happen out there. And it is kind of scary that way if you think about it.”

Many wondered why USADA took so long to hand Jones his punishment. Jones received a lengthy reduction of his possible four-year suspension for informing USADA about other fighters using ******** and other PEDs. At one point he had only been tested once by USADA in 2018. Controversy swirls.

Either way, Jones swears he never took Turinabol. His team hasn’t said what supplement was tainted, just that he is innocent. He’s eligible to return on October 28 of this year. Speculation is running wild that he’ll finally rematch Alexander Gustafsson.

Jones may be off the hook for now in terms of legal suspensions, but one more mess-up could see him banned forever.

The criticism of his response to the issue was that he never owned his mistakes and always claimed someone else would out to get him. It seems that hasn’t changed much based on Winkeljohn’s words. Will they be proven true in Jones’ umpteenth comeback?

Reigning two-division champion Daniel Cormier is sick of USADA’s 6 AM surprise visits.

Earlier this month when Jon Jones was handed a 15-month retroactive suspension suddenly the light heavyweight division got interesting again. Now Jones who is widely considered the greatest fighter of all time is eligible to return to the Octagon as soon as October. The MMA universe is ripe with ‘what-ifs.’

“DC’s” Plea

A third fight with bitter rival “DC” could be an epic way for both Jones to return to the UFC and for Cormier to walk away from the sport (retire). Not so fast proclaimed Cormier on a recent episode of UFC Tonight. The double champ is none too happy with USADA right now.

”Here’s the deal: when it comes to USADA, they can’t come to my house anymore at 6 AM,” Cormier said. “What’s the point? They’ve come to my house 15 times. When it comes to USADA they can’t come to my house anymore. You don’t need to. You don’t need to come, I’m not going to fail any tests. I’m not going to make any mistakes.

“I’m not going to have to sit up there and say ‘I’m serious this time, guys, I promise I really wasn’t trying to cheat. 70 times. 70 times since I started wrestling internationally, and I have never made a mistake. It’s not that hard. So even having to sit here and do this again shows that this guy’s ridiculous.”

“DC’ even took his gripe to social media. USADA kind of shut him down.

Maybe Cormier has a valid beef. After all, Jones is a repeat offender that has only been tested one time this year. Despite the fact that he revealed he never left the testing pool during his provisional suspension.

I have a sneaking suspicion that USADA will still be making those early-morning visits to “DC.”

Last week, the mixed martial arts (MMA) world learned that Jon Jones was only suspended 15 months following his second United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) offense. The suspension is retroactive to when the failed test was collected, therefore making Jones eligible to return next month. This seemed to upset current “Champ Champ” Daniel Cormier. The […]

USADA Fires Back At Jones’ Manager’s ‘No Snitching’ Claims

It looks like there may have been some miscommunication about Jon Jones’ USADA suspension reduction.

It looks like there may be some issues between Jon Jones’ camp and the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) in regards to Jones’ suspension reduction.

Earlier today Jones’ manager, Malki Kawa, told Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show that reports of “Bones” ratting out fellow UFC fighters to get a smaller suspension are simply not true (quotes via MMA Junkie):

“I can just tell you without a shadow of a doubt that Jon did not tell on any teammate,” Kawa said. “Jon did not tell on anyone in MMA. Jon did not do anything that these people are saying he did. So all that, ‘He’s a snitch’ and all that stuff, we can put it to bed. He did not do that.

“There’s other things that took place in here. There’s other things that Jon did with himself, there’s things that USADA – and the arbitrator and everyone involved – got from Jon about Jon that they had never had before.”

Upon USADA’s announcement of Jones’ suspension, it was said that the deal included that the former 205-pound champion provide “substantial assistance” to USADA. As a result, Jones’ suspension was reduced by 30 months.

USADA spokesperson Danielle Eurich released a statement in regards to Kawa’s statement on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show. She cited rule 10.6.1.1 and said Jones’ cooperation is vital to his reduction:

“Importantly, if the athlete or support personnel fails to continue to cooperate and provide credible substantial assistance, USADA will reinstate the original sanction,” Eurich said.

“These rules set out in 10.6.1.1 are crystal clear, and if they are not met, an individual would not be considered for a reduction based on substantial assistance.”
