Last month, it was revealed that Bruce Lee would be a playable fighter in EA Sports’ UFC video game. Now, fans can catch a glimpse of what the legend will look like in action.

In the video, UFC President Dana White and title-holders Jon Jones and Anthony Pettis also talk about what Lee meant to mixed martial arts.

Not a bad way to get fans excited before the game’s release in June.

UFC Fight Night 28: Ryan Bader vs. Glover Teixeira Simulated on UFC Undisputed 3

Sandwiched between the Benson Henderson and Anthony Pettis super rematch at UFC 164 and Jon Jones’ battle with Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 165, the Ryan Bader-Glover Teixeira scrap at UFC Fight Night 28 isn’t getting its due.

These two fighters are among the best at light heavyweight. I’m especially eager to see if Teixeira can continue to ascend up the rankings at 205 pounds. He hasn’t lost a fight in over eight years, and Bader has only lost to future Hall of Famers Lyoto Machida, Tito Ortiz and Jones.

This should be a good scrap, but I expect Teixeira to win by KO. Bader has shown the ability to knock off fighters who can’t handle his wrestling. Teixeira would definitely prefer to stand and trade, but his takedown defense is good enough to keep him from being manhandled by Bader.

In anticipation of the bout, I took to UFC Undisputed 3 again to simulate the fight. The game has a pretty expansive roster, though it will almost certainly be topped by the new EA Sports UFC due out in the spring—but Teixeira hadn’t quite made his mark in the UFC when the game was released.

That means I had to flex my create-a-fighter muscles to bring Teixeira to life in the game. I did the best I could recreating his face and body type. His stats are based on his career record, KOs, submissions and his stats at FightMetric.com.

The skill level for the simulation was set at Ultimate, and the stamina was set to Simulation. For those who are interested in watching the highlights of the fight, you can stop reading now.

If you just want to know the result, Bader won after a back-and-forth battle saw both men stunned and in trouble. A vicious counter left hand knocked Teixeira out cold in the third round.

UFC 164: Benson Henderson vs. Anthony Pettis Simulated with UFC Undisputed 3

The rematch between Benson Henderson and Anthony Pettis is so highly anticipated, chances are that many fans/gamers have already simulated this fight with their own copies of UFC Undisputed 3.

Almost everyone remotely interested in MMA has seen Pettis‘ Showtime kick against Henderson in December 2010 when both were in the WEC. Though Pettis didn’t KO Henderson with the maneuver, it did help him hand Henderson the second loss of his career.

That said, Henderson hasn’t lost since. He’s been UFC lightweight champion for 18 months, and he’s looking for revenge against Pettis. Gaining retribution won’t be easy.

In addition to the fact that Pettis has gotten even better since he faced him three years ago, Henderson will also have to defeat his rival in his hometown of Milwaukee, Wis. The fight should be a great battle of two of the sport’s best fighters.

The rest of the main card for UFC 164 is solid as well. Here are the bouts that round out the featured attractions in Milwaukee:

  • Josh Barnett vs. Frank Mir
  • Chad Mendes vs. Clay Guida
  • Ben Rothwell vs. Brandon Vera
  • Erik Koch vs. Dustin Poirier

Pettis‘ confidence, all-around game and the hometown advantage will be significant factors. Henderson has been fighting too safely since he won the title from Frankie Edgar in February 2012. It is the reason his wins have come by such narrow margins in his title defenses against Edgar and Gilbert Melendez.

I predict Pettis‘ athleticism, dynamic striking and world-class grappling will allow him to get the better of Henderson again. If you want to watch the result of the simulation, stop reading now.

If you don’t care to watch the video and just want to know the result, Pettis defeated Henderson by unanimous decision. Pettis had him hurt on two occasions and nearly submitted him in the fifth round. Henderson had marks under both eyes, and Pettis clearly won the fight.

Will history repeat itself in reality and virtual reality? Tune into UFC 164 on pay-per-view to find out.

UFC 158: Simulating Main Events With UFC Undisputed 3 Video Game

The featured bouts scheduled for UFC 158 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada are packed with quality welterweights and big-time names in the sport of MMA.

The main event features one of the all-time greats in welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre taking on Nick Diaz. The bad blood between these two men doesn’t appear to be fabricated or overblown for the sake of hyping a fight.

It seems the hatred is mutual and very real.

Combine the fact that both GSP and Diaz are amazingly talented and you have an especially intriguing bout setup for the main event.

The co-main event shouldn’t be overlooked either.

Johny Hendricks has been flattening top-level welterweights for the last two years, and if you ask me, he should be the one facing GSP on Saturday night, but that’s another story.

At any rate, watching Hendricks battle Carlos Condit is still an acceptable co-feature and should be a huge test for both men. It’s quite possible that we could see the winners of both these fights face each other very soon.

Many of us have our opinions on who will emerge victorious from these two exciting battles at 170 pounds. I see GSP and Hendricks coming out on top, and I’m sure there are MMA fans that favor Diaz and Condit.

But I thought it would be interesting (as usual) to see what the most current, and respected MMA simulation video game would predict with both matchups. I used THQ‘s UFC Undisputed 3 to simulate the fights.

This will be the final UFC game produced by THQ, the company filed bankruptcy, per the Los Angeles Times and the UFC license was one of the first to go.

EA Sports will be producing UFC games moving forward, per USA TODAY.

Unfortunately, I had to use a created version of Johny Hendricks because he wasn’t included in the real game. That said, a gamer named Super Bat Begins created a pretty spot-on version of “Big Rigg for the community to download.

He didn’t have any ratings, so I had to add those in.

I made sure he was extremely heavy-handed and a very solid wrestler. Here is how the simulation went:

As you can see, the game didn’t produce the results I predict will happen, but then again, it is possible a more authentically created Hendricks may have fared better.

As for the main event, take a look at the simulation of the bitter battle between GSP and Diaz:

According to UFC Undisputed 3, I will be wrong about the main event as well. Diaz out-fought GSP to take his belt. I can only imagine what the atmosphere would be like in the Bell Centre if that happens.

There is a ton at stake for GSP fighting for the title against a bitter rival and in front of his hometown crowd to boot.

Check out the real event on Saturday to see who’s right, man or machine?
