Following Khabib Nurmagomedov’s UFC 229 win over Conor McGregor, all hell broke loose. Khabib and McGregor will face the music soon, but it’s also resulted in some other high-profile names facing discipline in Nevada.

McGregor cornerman Dillon Danis began to taunt Khabib, who then jumped the cage to attack the Bellator fighter. This sparked a brawl between the pair outside the Octagon.

As a result, Zubaira Tukhugov, Abubakar Nurmagomedov, and Esedulla Emiragaev jumped into the cage with McGregor. Abubakar Nurmagomedov got into a scuffle with McGregor at the top of the cage. The Irishman landed a punch on him during the exchange.

Tukhugov and McGregor then got into a skirmish inside the cage, while Emiragaev came from behind to attack “The Notorious,” hitting him at least one time. All of these men are facing possible disciplinary action from the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) as a result.

Per the commission’s website, Danis, Tukhugov, Abubakar Nurmagomedov, Magomedov, and Emiragaev will have a hearing on November 14th. This hearing will be to extend temporary suspensions. No one ended up charged with assault.

McGregor and Khabib had their temporary suspensions extended last month. They’re due in front of the NSAC on December 10th in Las Vegas. The NSAC is currently withholding half of Nurmagomedov’s fight purse, $1 million.

Artem Lobov Reacts To Losing Fight With Khabib’s Teammate

Artem Lobov is not happy about his fight with Zubaira Tukhugov getting called off.

It remains unclear whether or not “The Russian Hammer” will remain on the card with another opponent. The news broke earlier this morning that Tukhugov was removed from the fight upon speculation that he’d be fired from the UFC soon. Lobov took to Twitter to protest the fight’s cancellation:

“Dana dont let Tukhugov escape his punishment, put him back in!”

Over the past weekend (Sat. October 6, 2018) all hell broke loose after UFC 229. Khabib Nurmagomedov defeated Conor McGregor to retain his lightweight title. “The Eagle” submitted McGregor in the fourth round via neck crank. After the fight was over, a brawl between both teams erupted.

McGregor cornerman, Dillon Danis, began shouting insults at Khabib. This provoked the champion to jump the cage and attack Danis. While they brawled outside the cage, a few of Khabib’s teammates came into the Octagon and attacked McGregor. The Irishman took a few shots to the back of the head.

One of the men attacking McGregor was Tukhugov. With all the pent up emotion surrounding Khabib vs. McGregor, Lobov was scheduled to fight Tukhugov at a later date. However, due to the aftermath of UFC 229 that will no loner be happening. Punishments for those involved have yet to be handed out.

The MMA universe was dealt some surprising news when lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov threatened to leave the UFC if they released his teammate Zubaira Tukhugov. Now it’s apparently time Nate Diaz sounds off on the Khabib teammate drama.

Tukhugov was one of Khabib’s teammates who climbed into the Octagon to scuffle with Conor McGregor after the Irishman was submitted by “The Eagle” at UFC 229. He was arrested but released when McGregor refused to press charges. But Tukhugov wasn’t out of the woods. UFC President Dana White said he and the other two assailants would never fight in the UFC again.

That didn’t stop Tukhugov from boasting that he ‘slapped McGregor as promised’ online. Tukhugov was then removed from his UFC Moncton match-up with McGregor’s teammate Artem Lobov.

Fear not, Nate Diaz has an idea to fix this mess. He tweeted to White this afternoon that they should let “Kabob’s” friend fight and release him instead:

An interesting take from the always-entertaining fan favorite. Diaz was set to return from an over two-year layoff to face Dustin Poirier at November 3’s UFC 230. That bout fell apart when ‘The Diamond’ pulled out with an undisclosed injury this week.

Diaz was removed from the NYC event as a result. He proclaimed he was ready to face Nurmagomedov for the UFC title. The youngest Diaz brother is often at odds with the UFC in their seemingly never-ending power struggle over money.

How that will factor into the Khabib drama remains to be seen. One thing is for certain, though. Diaz knows how to keep himself relevant despite not having a victory in the Octagon since March 2016.
