The fantasy matchmaking created by bringing Strikeforce lightweights into the UFC continued on Tuesday night when the company announced a battle between Jim Miller and Pat Healy at UFC 159.

Healy was twice removed from a Strikeforce title fight against Gilbert Melendez when his opponent pulled out due to injury. The Team Quest fighter voiced his belief that Melendez faked the injuries in order to avoid fighting him and moving into the UFC as champion.

Currently, Healy is riding incredible momentum after picking up six straight wins under the Strikeforce banner. A scrap with Miller is a quality matchup for a fighter who didn’t have a guaranteed job heading into the promotion’s final card.

Miller is a New Jersey native who is fighting in his home state for the fourth time since joining the UFC. Currently, the jiu-jitsu expert has won nine of his last 11 bouts and is fresh off of a UFC 155 victory over Joe Lauzon in 2012’s fight of the year.

UFC 159 takes place on Saturday, April 27 from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The card is headlined by a light heavyweight title fight between champion Jon Jones and loud-mouthed challenger Chael Sonnen.

Other fights for that card which were also announced on Tuesday include a heavyweight matchup between Cheick Kongo and Roy Nelson, as well as a light heavyweight fight between Phil Davis and Vinny Magalhaes (mmajunkie.com).

Rashad Evans: ‘Imperfect’ Pre-UFC 156 Video Profile

In preparation for UFC 156, Rashad Evans has been profiled by filmmaker Ryan Loco. The short film, titled “Imperfect” features an up-close look at the sparring sessions of the former light heavyweight champion as he readies himself for a battle with PRIDE superstar Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.

While you might mistake this video as an extended Jaco commercial (their logo appears more than 100 times throughout the Blackzilian gym and on Evans’ training apparel), the video shows “Suga” focusing on two areas: close quarter boxing and takedowns.

Something notable from this video is that Evans looked to finish most of his combinations with leg or body kicks. This is a strategy that is smart to employ against a non-wrestler like Nogueira, however, the Ultimate Fighter winner may have tipped his hand by allowing this video to surface one week before the fight.

This will be the first fight back for Rashad since a failed attempt to dethrone Jon Jones at UFC 145. Despite toying with the idea of a move to middleweight, the polarizing star ultimately decided to stick to his 205-pound home.

Nogueira competes for the first time since December 2011 after the injury plague of 2012 kept him out of a scheduled bout with Alexander Gustafsson.

Evans vs. Nogueira serves as the co-main event of UFC 156, which takes place on Saturday, Feb. 2. The headlining fight is a UFC featherweight championship bout between Jose Aldo and former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar.

On Saturday night, Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar return to Las Vegas for a superfight that will headline UFC 156. It is a blockbuster main event that will either elevate Aldo into a new level of superstardom or will crown Edgar as the third dual-division champion in UFC history and guarantee his spot in the UFC Hall of Fame.

The UFC has released a 10-minute preview of Saturday night’s supercard, and it is a must-see program for anyone excited about this card.

Also on the card are important divisional matchups between Rashad Evans and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, plus Alistair Overeem vs. Bigfoot Silva. Both fights feature a member of the Blackzilians as a heavy betting favorite and have title implications.

Featuring never-before-seen commentary from the card’s top-six fighters, as well as analysis from esteemed commentators Joe Rogan and Kenny Florian, this clip is essentially a truncated version of the UFC’s popular Countdown show.

What does Frankie think about the champion’s claim that he will knock out the New Jersey native? How does Rashad Evans respond to being told that Nogueira is going to beat him? Both of these questions are answered during this extended preview as well as much more.

Stay tuned to Bleacher Report MMA for all things UFC 156. The event takes place on Saturday, Feb. 2 from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

UFC 156 is one of the most stacked cards in UFC history. There is so much star power on the event that a stellar lightweight battle between Evan Dunham and Gleison Tibau has been relegated to the FX preliminary card.

Tibau will be making his 18th UFC appearance in this fight against a man who was once considered the brightest prospect at 155 pounds.

With Dunham earning Fight of the Night bonuses in three of his last five encounters, this is undoubtedly a can’t-miss fight that promises fireworks.

Here is a head-to-toe breakdown of Evan Dunham vs. Gleison Tibau.

UFC on Fox 6 Results: Ryan Bader Calls out Shogun Rua after Dominant Win

Ryan Bader has never looked better than he did on Saturday night in Chicago. On the preliminary portion of UFC on Fox 6, the Ultimate Fighter winner met veteran fighter Vladimir Matyushenko in a record-breaking performance.

After sending “The Janitor” crashing down with a right hand, Bader latched on to the head and arm of his opponent and began squeezing in a modified guillotine choke that was as aesthetically peculiar as it was effective.

Matyushenko was forced to tap out for the first time in his 33-fight career only 50 seconds into the first round.

The victory for Bader marked the fastest submission in the history of the UFC light heavyweight division.

In a post-fight interview with Joe Rogan, Bader made it clear who he would like to face in his next contest (via Yahoo Sports).

I was honored to fight Tito Ortiz and Rampage Jackson, guys I idolized coming up before I was in the UFC. I’d love to fight another legend in Shogun Rua. I think we’d have a great fight and to share the Octagon with him would be an honor.

Rua is a former UFC champion who has seemingly been allergic to momentum since joining the UFC in 2007. The PRIDE superstar holds a UFC record of 5-5 and is coming off of a December loss to kickboxer Alexander Gustafsson.

This would mark the fourth time that Bader gets into the cage with a former UFC champion. Aside from the fights he mentioned against Tito Ortiz and Rampage Jackson, Bader also tangled with Lyoto Machida at UFC on Fox 4 last year. “Darth” was knocked out in the second round of that contest.
