Take a deep breath MMA fans, the fight will go on.

Tatame.com reported earlier that Anderson Silva injured his knee during a training session.

The fighter revealed to the press that he got his knee injured on a training session, and that he’s getting tested today to see how serious it is. Despite that, the champion was not limping during the ceremony, and seemed optimistic about the recovery.

There has been no mention as to which knee was injured (for strategic reasons).

There has been a very bad string of injuries for the UFC as of late. Most recently the validity of having UFC 147 as a pay-per-view came into question when Vitor Belfort was forced to withdraw after breaking his hand and leaving the card in a shambles.

Silva sent out a tweet on Monday evening guaranteeing that his knee was fine and he would be ready come July 7th:

Gennnteeee meu joelho vai muito bem obrigado!!!! , fiquem tranqüilos dia 7 de Julho estarei cumprindo meu trabalho.osss

After recent adversity with the FOX ratings, the UFC cannot afford to lose their main event in back-to-back pay-per-view events.

Although UFC 148 is one of the most stacked cards in the history of the organization, the rematch between Silva and Sonnen is still what is producing most of the buzz heading into the event.

Thankfully for MMA fans and the UFC, it looks like Silva will be fine moving forward.
