UFC President Dana White said Wednesday he will strip Conor McGregor of the UFC lightweight championship.

Speaking to TMZ Sports, White said the upcoming fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson at UFC 223 in April will be for the title McGregor eventually vacates.

White also addressed the potential of a McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr. rematch. While he said it would only make sense in UFC, he added that the sides aren’t in active negotiations and that there’s “nothing done.”
