The monumental UFC 200 card is now just a few weeks away as the event is slated to take place on July 9, 2016 from the brand new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The main event will feature a long-awaited rematch over a year in the making as interim 205-pound champion and pound-for-pound king Jon “Bones” Jones attempts to recapture the title from reigning champion Daniel “DC” Cormier. Jones scored a unanimous decision over Cormier in January 2015, but was stripped of the title later that year after running into legal issues.
In the evening’s co-main event, former UFC heavyweight champion and WWE superstar Brock Lesnar will make his somewhat shocking, yet highly-anticipated return against legendary knockout artist Mark “The Super Samoan” Hunt. Lesnar’s return was announced earlier this month at June 4’s UFC 199, and Hunt was named as his opponent soon thereafter.
Also on the main card, newly minted women’s bantamweight champion Miesha “Cupcake” Tate will defend her 135-pound strap against Brazilian contender Amanda Nunes. And if that wasn’t enough, Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar will rematch with the interim featherweight title hanging in the balance.
