Former UFC women’s strawweight Angela Magana claims she is unable to remember anything following her unexpected coma.

Magana fell into a medically-induced coma last month a few days after an emergency surgery for a herniated disc. It was due to complications from the anesthesia and she was initially not waking up.

However, she eventually did wake up, and a month on from the incident, tried to reflect on what happened.

“I don’t remember anything,” Magana told BJ Penn Radio. “Honestly, I wish I could tell you, ‘oh, I remember people talking to me.’ It’s not like a regular coma where my brain is this or that. It’s a medically-induced thing I guess, so honestly, I guess I woke up and I was talking and stuff, but even the first 24 hours I don’t remember anything.

“The doctor was telling my coach, who was there with me the whole time after the surgery, well, actually through the whole thing, that ‘she should not be doing this. This isn’t her. This is not Angela.’ I was being so mean and nasty, trying to punch everybody who came in the room. I was screaming at every doctor, nurse, ‘You f*cked me up! You f*cked me up!’ They said I was the most aggressive person they’ve ever seen and there was a nurse [that’s] been there for 40 years in the neuro department, in the neuro ICU. So that’s crazy. I had a horrible reaction to it on top of not waking up from it. But I don’t know. Things weren’t clear the first week after even leaving the hospital.”

What’s Next For Magana?

Magana was originally supposed to make her Combate Americas debut against Kyra Batara on April 26 until these events transpired.

It’s unknown whether that bout will be rescheduled but as for now, the 35-year-old is currently training again at “85 percent.”

Magana was winless in a three-fight stint with the UFC and most recently was submitted by Kanako Murata in her RIZIN debut last August.

She is currently looking for her first win since August 2011 when she submitted Avery Vilche at CITR: The New Generation.

The post Top 10 MMA Bad Girls appeared first on LowKickMMA.com.

In the sport of MMA there are plenty of fighters who fall under the banner of being ‘bad boys,’ but let’s not forget that there are ‘bad girls’ out there too.

In this article, we’ll take a look at 10 of today’s most notorious fighters in WMMA, from the outspoken trash-talkers and troublemakers through to the steroid cheats and the former ‘wild childs’ trying to put their murky past behind them.

Carina Damm

Nearly 14 years into her MMA career, Carina Damm, sister of former UFC fighter Rodrigo Damm, is a true veteran of the sport, having fought for the likes of Strikeforce, Jungle Fights and most recently Titan FC.

However, the 39-year-old ‘Beauty But The Beast’ also holds the dubious distinction of being the first-ever female MMA fighter to test positive for steroids.

Damm popped for the banned anabolic steroid nandrolone back in 2008 after her first fight in the United States at FFF4, where she had defeated her opponent via a second-round armbar submission.

She was subsequently banned for a year, though Damm continued to fight back home in Brazil in the mean time.

However, Damm would again run into trouble when she was caught attempting to submit a fake urine sample following a loss to Jessica Eye at NFAAS 9 in 2013, which was quickly spotted due to the fact it was reportedly ‘clear’ and ‘cold’.

Damm was subsequently suspended for 6 months, leaving her reputation further tarnished.

Cris ‘Cyborg’ Punches Angela Magana At UFC Athlete Retreat

The UFC Athlete Retreat in Las Vegas in May was supposed to be an opportunity for fighters to relax, have fun and network, but instead, it turned into a battleground between two bitter rivals.

For several months beforehand, strawweight fighter Angela Magana had been waging an unprovoked cyberbullying campaign against the featherweight star, making fun of her appearance in a series of unflattering memes and messages.

Angered by the insults, ‘Cyborg’ took it upon herself to confront her foe face-to-face at the retreat, but Magana remained defiant and made it clear she had no intention of apologizing, leading to the Brazilian star punching her in the face.

In the aftermath of the incident ‘Cyborg’ received support from fans and other UFC fighters for confronting her tormentor, but Magana ignored the backlash and reported the incident to the police, claimed to have been treated in hospital for a cut lip and ‘cervical strain’ and threatened to file a lawsuit against her rival.

’Cyborg’ was later charged with misdemeanor battery by the Las Vegas Police Department.
