LowKick MMA will be live on-site to bring you Bellator 275: Mousasi vs. Vanderford results throughout the night (Fri. February 25. 2022) live from the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland.

Headlining the promotion’s return to Dublin for the first time since November: an undisputed middleweight championship bout between reigning champion, Gegard Mousasi, and the undefeated, Austin Vanderford.

Mousasi, a former DREAM, Strikeforce, and Cage Warriors champion, looks to score the second defense of his second reign as middleweight champion against the unbeaten, Vanderford — most recently stopping John Salter with ground strikes in the third round of their Bellator 264 clash back in August.

For Vanderford, the undefeated Dana White‘s Contender Series alum turned in his eleventh consecutive professional victory at Bellator 259, securing a unanimous decision win over Fabian Edwards.

In the night’s co-headliner — a historic high-profile All-Ireland clash between featherweight contenders, Sinead Kavanagh, and Leah McCourt.

Kavanagh, a native of Dublin, looks to grab a hometown win against McCourt — and subsequently rebound to the winner’s enclosure following a December title knockout loss to defending queen, Cris Cyborg.

For McCourt, the Northern Ireland native improved to 6-1 back in October at Bellator London — securing an impressive unanimous decision victory against Jessica Borga.

Dillon Danis Wants $100K Street Fight With ‘One Eyed B*tch’ Michael Bisping

Dillon Danis

The rivalry between Dillon Danis and Michael Bisping appears to be never-ending at this point as the duo have been trading shots at each other for what seems like an eternity.

During a recent Q&A session on his YouTube channel, Bisping explained why Danis’ BJJ skills are pretty much useless in an actual street fight, he said.

“Dillon Danis, you shoot for a man’s leg on the street, I’m gonna stomp on your head. And, by the way, someone else is probably gonna run up and boot you in the face. You’re on the floor, you’re about to go for an Omoplata? Someone just stomps you’re f***ing head. There you go, jiu-jitsu that, you know what I mean?” (Transcribed by Sportskeeda)

The 2-0 Bellator prospect clearly doesn’t agree with Bisping’s assessment of the usefulness of BJJ in a street fight and proposed scrap it out, with the winner taking home $100,000.

“hey @bisping why don’t we put this to the test 100k to you if i lose. you one eyed bitch,” Danis tweeted.

Dillon Danis Has Taken A Few L’s Lately

Danis has been sidelined for quite some time after undergoing surgery on his knee.

Despite that, Conor McGregor‘s teammate has continued to talk smack on social media to any and all fighters, regardless of weight class or promotion.

So, the majority of people from the combat sports world were glad to see Danis get his comeuppance during a recent trip to the Jersey Shore.

In September, Danis was arrested in Seaside Heights and was subsequently charged with disorderly conduct following an incident at a nightclub.

A bad night got worse for Danis when footage of his arrest began to circulate online. The clip showed the BJJ specialist being choked out by a security guard before his arrest.

Since then, Danis has been slapped by Ali Abdelaziz and kicked out of UFC 268.

The 28-year-old was also put on blast by MMA journalist Ariel Helwani.

How do you think Dillon Danis would do against Michael Bisping in a street fight?

Adam Piccolotti

Bellator MMA lightweight contender, Adam Piccolotti has been issued a suspension by the Mohegan Sun Athletic Commission, after he posted troubling footage of himself vomiting during his weight-cut in preparation for his Bellator 274 outing against Giorgi Karakhanyan.

Piccolotti, 13-4 as a professional, lodged a unanimous decision win over Karakhanyan at last weekend’s event in Uncasville, Connecticut – returning him to the winner’s enclosure following a split decision loss to incoming title chaser, Sidney Outlaw.

Adam Piccolotti scores career win number 13 with his judging victory against Giorgi Karakhanyan

However, post-fight, Piccolotti has since been issued a suspension by the Mohegan Tribe Department of Athletic Regulation, after he posted footage, which has since been deleted, of him vomiting during his weight-cutting process ahead of his lightweight outing against the veteran, Karakhanyan.

In footage that has since been re-uploaded across social media, the 33-year-old can been seen aided to a portable sauna by his team in a bid to cut weight for his fight with Karakhanyan, before later instances show the grappling talent vomiting a yellow fluid from his mouth onto a towel.

Stripping down to his underwear, Piccolotti then re-enters the portable sauna once again in a bid to continue the weight-cutting process.

Mike Mazzulli, the director of the Mohegan Tribe Department of Athletic Regulation confirmed to MMA Fighting that Piccolotti had been issued a suspension for a period of six months, and was fined a sum of $2,500 as a result. The cornermen who cornered Piccolotti to his win over Karakhanyan — which will remain, have also seen their respective licenses suspended by the Mohegan Tribe Department of Athletic Regulation.

“Something needs to be done to deter extreme weight cutting,” Mike Mazzulli said. “After looking at that video (of Adam Piccolotti vomiting), I was appalled that a fighter would go that extent to lose weight.”

“It’s a sad commentary that a fighter would go to that extent to lose that kind of weight and feel like it’s a badge of honor to do it,” Mike Mazzulli said. “I thought we’d come a long way since 2002 and we no longer allow rubber suits, IV rehydration, but we still have fighters doing what he (Adam Piccolotti) did.”

Mazzulli then pointed out the prospect of amateur competitors viewing the video footage posted by Piccolotti, being influenced by the Californian’s methods of cutting weight before competing.

“My biggest problem is what he (Adam Piccolotti) is showing the amateur fighter that looks up to him as an elite fighter,” Mike Mazzulli said. “It’s not OK. It’s no longer OK. It’s unacceptable. And I would never have known it unless he posted it. Which is sad because he fought at Mohegan, it’s my duty to do something.”

“He doesn’t understand the ramification of what could happen in the future,” Mike Mazzulli said. “Renal failure, kidney failure… I try to stress to these fighters, take care of what you have.”

Gegard Mousasi

Bellator middleweight champion Gegard Mousasi is looking to broaden his horizons in combat sport and wants to test himself against Anderson Silva in a boxing ring.

Gegard Mousasi has seen success across multiple combat sports and promotions. Having already been a former Strikeforce and Dream champion he also is the owner of an undefeated kickboxing record. Mousasi spoke on The MMA Hour revealing his interest in making the move over to boxing sometime this year.

“Unfortunately, I’ve fought twice the last two years,” Mousasi said.

“I would have loved to fight more but it’s the pandemic. They’re gonna keep me busy this year. Three times, and I want to fight Anderson Silva in boxing. My managers are gonna push for that fight. You, Anderson, don’t run away from me.”

Gegard Mousasi Vs. Anderson Silva

Anderson Silva’s return to boxing has gone very well following his victory over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr back in June. He would go on to knockout Tito Ortiz in their matchup back in September, with more fighters crossing over into different avenues of combat sport it wouldn’t be that surprising if we saw something like this happen.

Gegard Mousasi clearly is wanting to test himself against Silva despite having no interest in facing him in MMA anymore, he knows the challenge in boxing would still be very real.

“Now it’s up to him,” Mousasi said. “I think it’s not very interesting [to fight him in MMA]. In MMA he has lost, but in boxing he’s still winning. I think it’s different and it’s more entertaining.

“I threw it out to Scott [Coker] and Showtime. … I’ve been pushing for it.” (transcribed by mmafighting.com)

However, before Mousasi can think about making the move, he must first get through Austin Vanderford at Bellator 275 this Friday where his middleweight championship will be on the line.
