Former UFC flyweight and strawweight contender, Paige VanZant has confirmed she has joined the subscription service, Only Fans this weekend – with her content on the London-based online platform free over the course of the weekend to boot.

VanZant, 28, is a former strawweight contender under the UFC banner, as well as also featuring at the flyweight ranks during his time with the Dana White-led organization.

Recently, the Oregon native made the transition to bare knuckle fighting with the BKFC (Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships) following the completion of his UFC contract in the summer of 2020.

Featuring twice under the scrutiny of the David Feldman-led promotion, Paige VanZant dropped back-to-back decision losses to both Britain Hart, and fellow former UFC alum, Rachael Ostovich – whom she holds a previous armbar win over in professional mixed martial arts.

Boasting an 8-5 professional mixed martial arts record, VanZant most recently competed on the UFC 251 card in July 2020 on ‘Fight Island’ in Abu Dhabi, UAE – dropping an armbar loss of her own against Brazilian contender, Amanda Ribas.

Over the course of this weekend, however, VanZant confirmed she would be appearing on subscription service, Only Fans – with her content posted on the web-based site free for the weekend.

“Officially on ONLY FANS!!,” Paige VanZant tweeted. “And to kick it off I am making my site FREE this weekend ONLY!!! Come for exclusive content, training videos and SO MUCH MORE!!!! I’ll be online all day today ready to chat ? See you there.”

Paige VanZant secured a notable five victories during her stint with the UFC

VanZant headlined twice under the UFC banner, sharing the Octagon in an eventual defeat to former two-time undisputed strawweight champion, Rose Namajunas.

Nate Diaz unable to talk with fight promotions about potential signing: ‘It’s illegal’

Former UFC lightweight and welterweight contender, Nate Diaz is currently unable to discuss potential deals with promotion’s and organizations following the recent completion of his contractual obligations, as the UFC hold a period of three months in which they can exclusively decide whether or not to offer Diaz a new contract.

The Stockton favorite headlined UFC 279 earlier this month in a reshuffled, short-notice main event against former interim lightweight champion, Tony Ferguson, nabbing an eventual fourth round guillotine choke win.

Nate Diaz was initially scheduled to share the main event bracket with the undefeated, Khamzat Chimaev, however, the Chechen fighter missed the welterweight limit by a whopping seven and a half pounds.

Diaz would go on to submit Ferguson and snap his two-fight losing skid, while Chimaev would be dropped the event’s co-headliner against Kevin Holland, where he moved to 12-0 with a straightforward first round D’Arce choke win.

Since Nate Diaz’s final contracted Octagon appearance, the one-time UFC lightweight title challenger has been the target of moves for both Bellator MMA and the David Feldman-led, BKFC, with the former’s president, Scott Coker claiming ahead of the promotion’s Dublin card, how they were “in dialogue” with Diaz’s camp

“Well, we’re definitely talking to him (Nate Diaz),” Scott Coker told BBC Sport ahead of Bellator 285. “We’ve reached out and I know he’s probably talking to everybody. He’s, I think, in a pretty good situation. I know he wants to fight Jake Paul. Jake Paul’s fighting, you know, against Anderson Silva on Showtime pay-per-view, which is our home network, so there’s some synergies here.”

“We’re just hoping that we could have some type of deal to at least have his MMA fights with Bellator,” Scott Coker continued. “We are in dialogue.

Nate Diaz currently unable to discuss contract terms with other promotions

However, according to Ariel Helwani, it would be illegal for Diaz to speak with other organizations at the moment, following the completion of his contractual obligations with the UFC.

“A note on any story about a promotion/promotion talking to Nathan Diaz right now, don’t believe it,” Ariel Helwani tweeted. “Not true. It’s actually illegal. Diaz is in an exclusive three-month negotiation period with the UFC. Meaning he can’t talk to anyone. And he hasn’t talked to anyone.”

“This is standard procedure, btw,” Helwani tweeted. “Every UFC deal has this baked in. So, unless they wave it, which they have in the past, there’s no talking to anyone out there. And they haven’t waived it.”

Mike Perry throws down a challenge to Nate Diaz; ‘Come and get some of this ‘Platinum’ heat’

Nate Diaz

Following his fourth-round submission over Tony Ferguson and UFC 279, Nate Diaz completed the final fight of his UFC contract and became a free agent for the first time since signing with the organization over 15 years ago.

While it’s anyone’s guess as to what comes next for the Stockton Samurai, it has become quite clear that everyone is ready to be in the Nate Diaz business including David Feldman, the founder of Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship. The exec has gone on record saying that his dream match would be between the man from 209 and BKFC’s top star, ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry.

The former UFC fighter turned BKFC brawler recently appeared on ‘The Fighter vs. The Writer‘ podcast to discuss Diaz’s potential signing with the bare-knuckle fight group.

“My first initial reaction was, I don’t know if that’s where he’s going, where his ideas are,” Perry said. “Because he said he wants to go take over other sports, as far as he wants to be the [UFC President] Dana White of an organization, or the David Feldman of an organization, and run the show and show people how to do it. But he also said things where he’s still got a lot of gas left in the tank.

“He’s still interested in some big fights in his career, and I think that’s what it’s about. If he wants to accept the challenge, to challenge himself, he loves to box. I know he likes jiu-jitsu, too, so I don’t know if it would be something he would be fully interested in because, without jiu-jitsu against me and just boxing, I don’t know if he sees himself having a chance against me in the bare-knuckle boxing ring.”

Mike Perry Invites Nate Diaz to Come Get Some ‘Real Big Money’ in BKFC

With multiple organizations and the rise of mixed martial artists entering the world of boxing, fighters have more opportunities to make the most of their limited time competing in their prime. Two fights into his BKFC career and it appears that Mike Perry has finally found his true home in combat sports. After a successful debut against Ultimate Fighter alum Julian Lane at Knucklemania 2, ‘Platinum’ scored the biggest win of his career against Bellator MMA star Michael ‘Venom’ Page at BKFC 27 in London.

Already one of the promotion’s biggest names, Perry is banking a lot of money inside the squared circle, a fact that could appeal to Nate Diaz who, by all accounts, is looking to cash in on some big money fights before hanging up his gloves for good.

“We’re talking real big money,” Perry said. “Since fighting with bare-knuckle and Triller, my taxes look like what the UFC fighters got paid the other night — everyone, the whole roster, who got paid the other night on one card, that’s what my brackets look like from fighting a couple of fights. We’re talking big money.

“It’s a real opportunity for anyone involved. It’s not just we’re talking about the sport. It’s real fighting and real money, so if you want that real sh*t in your life, come and get some of this ‘Platinum’ heat.”

Though Perry is more than ready to throw hands with the Stockton native, he made it clear that there is no animosity towards Nate Diaz.

“It’s a lot of respect there for Nate Diaz,” Perry said. “A lot of fans have said over the years that I’m kind of kin to the Diaz brothers, and that we have the same initial feelings toward fighting. When we’re fighting, it’s a real fight. All that friendly stuff, it doesn’t have to be there until the victor is chosen, and then we can talk about being cool. It’s no animosity. He’s a great competitor, and I am as well.”

Mike Perry has reacted to BKFC suggesting he face off against Nate Diaz, who recently became a free agent after fighting out his UFC contract.

Nate Diaz‘s departure from the UFC took place at UFC 279, which was embroiled in one of the most chaotic fight weeks in UFC history. Diaz was initially set to face off against undefeated surging contender Khamzat Chimaev. However, after ‘Borz’ missed weight by a significant margin, Diaz was rebooked to fight former UFC lightweight interim title holder, Tony Ferguson.

Whilst neither Diaz nor Ferguson is in the prime of their careers anymore, the two put on an entertaining main event bout, with Diaz being crowned the victor after locking up a submission in the fourth round. In the aftermath of the fight, Diaz spoke with Joe Rogan, who asked him what his future now holds.

Diaz vowed to ‘go and conquer another sport,’ and then later return to MMA. Whilst many presume he will now box Jake Paul, the idea of a potential bare-knuckle boxing match was floated by BKFC, who pushed the idea of a Nate Diaz vs. former UFC welterweight Mike Perry matchup.

Mike Perry would be quick to comment on this, stating the following on Twitter:

“Now is my time to make noise. I have no excuses so I’m calling out all the best fights the fans can be interested in. I want to make waves. Been fighting my whole life and I always will no matter what.”

BKFC confirm interest in booking Nate Diaz vs. Mike Perry fight: ‘We’re aggressively gonna make a move’

Nate DiazBKFC (Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship) president, David Feldman has confirmed the promotion’s interest in signing recent UFC 279 headliner, Nate Diaz following the conclusion of the Stockton favorite’s final fight with the organization, as well as booking him in a described “dream fight” with recent headliner and former UFC welterweight, Mike Perry. BKFC (Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship) president, David Feldman has confirmed the promotion’s interest in signing recent UFC 279 headliner, Nate Diaz following the conclusion of the Stockton favorite’s final fight with the organization, as well as booking him in a described “dream fight” with recent headliner and former UFC welterweight, Mike Perry.

Taking main event honors at UFC 279 last Saturday in a short-notice welterweight clash against former interim lightweight champion, Tony Ferguson, Diaz managed to exit the organization with a stunning fourth round guillotine choke win over the Oxnard native, securing his first victory since August 2019.

As for Perry, the outspoken Michigan striker managed to land his second straight win since linking up with the BKFC back in February of this year, adding Bellator welterweight contender, Michael Page to a prior judging win over The Ultimate Fighter veteran, Julian Lane.

Commenting on the possibility of Californian favorite, Diaz eventually turning his hand to bare knuckle fighting with the BKFC, the above-mentioned, Feldman confirmed the organization would be pursuing a deal with Diaz.

“I can’t tell you whether he’s (Nate Diaz) coming or not, but I can tell you that we want him here at Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship,” David Feldman said on The Bare Knuckle Show. “And we’re gonna do everything that we can do to get him here at Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship.”

“Nate Diaz is absolutely on the radar,” Feldman said. “He’s not just on the radar, we’re aggressively gonna make a move for him right now. I know he has something else that he’s working on right now, but I have a feeling after having a talk with the partners and the guys at Triller that we’re gonna be able to make a really viable attempt. We’re going for this, absolutely.”

BKFC pursue a “dream fight” between Nate Diaz and Mike Perry

Whilst Diaz completed his contractual obligation with the organization after UFC 279, the promotion still retain exclusivity matching rights with the Californian, however, Feldman, who insists will respect that clause, has sights on a “dream fight” between Diaz and Perry.

“We have to respect the UFC’s window that they have to re-sign him and everything,” Feldman said. “But we’re going for him. A hundred percent, we’re going for Nate Diaz.”

“I think that the fans would absolutely love to see both of the same personalities, just guys that keep fighting… Nate Diaz vs. Mike Perry would be a fan’s dream fight. I think the fans would love to see that. I would pay to see that fight, easily. That would be an amazing fight. If we could do something like that, that would be great.” (Transcribed by Bloody Elbow)
