Tyson Fury claims Francis Ngannou should get on his knees thank him for boxing match

Tyson Fury was very adamant about his lack of emotional investment in the upcoming Francis Ngannou vs. Anthony Joshua fight. However, one thing ‘The Gypsy King’ did say was that Francis Ngannou should be thanking him on his knees for “what he did for him.

Joshua and Ngannou are set to throw down this Friday, March 8th, at the Knockout Chaos event in Saudi Arabia. Ngannou will obviously be looking to secure his first victory over a big-name boxer and continue to build on the momentum gained from an impressive showing in his split-decision loss to Fury.

Tyson Fury was asked about the fight, and seemed slightly bitter about how this fight is being taken significantly more serious by the media and fans in general.

Tyson Fury Speaks on Upcoming Francis Ngannou and Anthony Joshua Fight, tells Ngannou he needs to “Thank him”

“It’s a good fight [between Joshua and Ngannou],” Fury told The Stomping Ground (H/T MMA Fighting). “When I was fighting Ngannou, it was a mismatch, and it was a bulls*** fight, but it is what it is, isn’t it? Styles make fights, and that’s what it is.

“I’m not sure what people expected of the man before [our fight]. I know it was supposed to be like a 1,000 to 1 shot, and he was useless, and he couldn’t fight and all of that, but he proved everyone wrong, so fantastic for him. I put him on the map, made him a multi-millionaire, and now I’m making him even more money. So he needs to thank me. He needs to get on his knees and kiss my feet, doesn’t he, for what I’ve done for him.”

‘The Gypsy King’ has his own fight in Saudi Arabia to prepare for. Later this year, he will be taking on Oleksandr Usyk in a title unification bout to officially prove who will reign supreme over heavyweight boxing.

When asked about his prediction for the Ngannou vs Joshua fight, Fury wouldn’t let himself be forced into picking a side.

“I don’t know, and I don’t care, to be honest,” Tyson Fury began. “Listen, whatever happens, happens. The best man will win on the night. They’re heavyweight giants, aren’t they? So anyone can win. Brilliant fights, actually, on Friday. I’m looking forward to the bill, the whole bill.”

Who do you think will be victorious between Joshua and Ngannou?

Ex-UFC star Demetrious Johnson blasts Jake Paul for picking easy fights: ‘That man was running pizza routes’

Demetrious Johnson blasts Jake Paul for fighting easy opponents that guy was on a pizza route

Demetrious Johnson is not very happy about Jake Paul’s selection of opponents and recently sounded off with a strong message for the young Youtuber turned fighter.

Jake Paul has been professionally boxing for years now, as weird as it feels to say it. His brief but somewhat entertaining career has seen him go toe to toe with UFC legends like Anderson Silva and Nate Diaz, all the way to retired NBA players like Nate Robinson (whom Paul also dwarfs in size).

However, out of all of Jake Paul’s fights so far, only one has been against a young and hungry boxer in his prime (Tommy Fury). The other nine fights on Jake Paul’s resume are against either washed, rickety old men, or people who barely even qualify as an actual fighter in the first place (and in some cases, don’t). This is Demetrious Johnson’s problem with Paul, and he’s not the only person who feels this way.

Demetrious Johnson Opens up about his feelings towards Jake Paul and implores him to ramp up the quality of his competition

“He (Jake Paul) is evolving, don’t get me wrong.” Demetrious Johnson began. “But, what are you doing when you’re fighting these guys that you find off the street? Like I said before, when he fought Andre August, that gentleman was running pizza routes.”

“Go find somebody who’s 25-26 years old… that’s in the gym, that’s grinding, that’s hungry. Put yourself in the fire. Put yourself against top-level competition to build your credibility.”

Demetrious Johnson would later talk about the difference between fighting actual fighters and guys who barely qualify to go by such a term. In fact, Johnson even went as far as dismissing some of Paul’s fights as “not professional” which is a sentiment that seems to be shared by many.

Francis Ngannou confident his power can get the job done against Anthony Joshua: ‘If I land on anybody, I’ll knock him out’

Francis Ngannou

Francis Ngannou believes he has the power to knock out anyone, including Anthony Joshua.

On Friday, March 8, the former UFC heavyweight champion returns to the boxing ring five months removed from his critically acclaimed showing against WBC titleholder Tyson Fury in October. Though he came up short, suffering a razor-close and highly contestable split decision, Ngannou’s performance was good enough to land him in the No. 10 spot on the WBC rankings.

Returning to Riyadh, Ngannou will face top-ranked contender Anthony Joshua in a bout appropriately dubbed Knockout Chaos.

Speaking with Andy Scott of Sky Sports days before their highly anticipated scrap at Kingdom Arena, Ngannou shared some insight into his training camp and how he’s feeling before once again strapping on the eight-ounce gloves.

“I’m feeling good. Very excited,” Ngannou said. “I finished my training yesterday. It’s been a tough eight weeks to get here and feeling like you’ve done everything that you should have done is amazing. I can’t wait for the fight now.”

Ngannou’s performance against Tyson Fury was nothing short of spectacular. Going into the contest as a massive underdog, ‘The Predator’ had no problem standing and trading with ‘The Gypsy King’ for 10 rounds, and even scored a knockdown against the P4P great in the third round.

Asked how he plans to prepare for Joshua in contrast to how he trained for the Fury fight, Ngannou said:

“Tyson Fury is very slick. He has a lot of footwork and a lot of body movement, but at the end of the day, I think it’s the same. When you train for Tyson Fury, the same thing goes with Anthony Joshua. You just have to note his power punch, but I think it’s basically the same. Good footwork, step back. All that stuff.”

When it comes to power, few hit harder than Francis Ngannou. Between 2015 and 2022, he scored 12 victories under the UFC banner with 11 of them coming by way of knockout, including wins over former world champions Andrei Arlovski, Cain Velasquez, Junior dos Santos, and Stipe Miocic.

“I believe if I land on anybody, I’ll knock him out,” Ngannou added. “The question is, how to land? That’s the hardest thing. Everyone in this division… Almost everybody here can knock everyone out, but you learn how to carry that power and that energy from the first round to the fifth round and 10 rounds and still be able to hit somebody hard or knock somebody out after all the fatigue and everything. It’s a chess game.”

Ryan Garcia

Boxing star Ryan Garcia has fight fans worried, confused, or a little bit of both following a bizarre post on social media.

Garcia has found himself the subject of multiple headlines over the last week. On Monday, he drew the ire of UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley when he told Ariel Helwani that he would “destroy” ‘Sugar’ inside the Octagon. Days later, ‘The Flash’ had to defend himself during a press conference after his next opponent, Devin Haney, accused him of using cocaine.

On Sunday, Garcia once again had people talking after making a rather alarming post online featuring a short, but chaotic video and a caption referencing satanism or some kind of demonic possession.

“MARCH 3 SUNDAY 2024 we slit RG THROAT AND THRU HIM IN A BASKET NOBODY WILL FIND HIM BSABJANANANANANAJQKA ANAIQNANSBSNANABA A SNSNSNWKWNA S ANANSNSN SATAN SITTING AT THE TOP NOW. 666,” the post on X reads.

Fans Rally around Ryan Garcia

Users were genuinely concerned for Garcia’s mental health, flooding the comments with well-wishes.

“Ryan I’m really praying for you right now cause i feel bad for you.”

“You okay bro?”

“Please tell me Ryan is ok…”

“Bro as a fan of yours, this is just a weird way of promoting. I don’t even know if you’re trolling or you’re actually going through some shit this time lmao. This isn’t normal. Just pull out at this point please.”

“You need help man, please pull out of this fight.”

“Someone please confirm he is ok. They already entered his home and robbed him once. Please tell me this young guy with hard discipline and faith in god is ok.”

It is possible that Ryan Garcia’s X account was hacked, though it should be noted that the same video and caption appeared on his Instagram stories. Many of those commenting also believe that it is in fact Garcia manning the camera in the clip.

MMA fighter DQ'd in boxing match

Chaos nearly erupted at a boxing event in Poland when an MMA fighter went off the rails during his boxing debut.

Marcin Sianos, a mixed martial artist with an 8-7 record, strapped on the eight-ounce gloves for a Rocky Boxing event in Koszalin, Poland on Saturday. Squaring off with Artur Bizewski in the evening’s opening bout, Sianos was putting pressure on his opponent and unleashing combinations in the second round when Bizewski clinched up. Before the referee could separate them, Sianos broke out his wrestling skills, landing a double leg takedown and unleashing a couple of nasty-looking elbows to his downed opponent.

Bizewski was unable to continue, resulting in Sianos’ disqualification just 37 seconds into the second round.

Multiple members of the crowd had to be stopped from storming the ring in anger while others were content littering the squared circle with trash and anything else they could find.

It’s unclear what prompted Sianos to take his opponent down in the middle of a boxing match. Perhaps it was frustration. Maybe it was just instinct taking over. Either way, we can’t imagine there will be many promoters eager to book him for another appearance in the ring.

Jake Paul welcomes light work fight with Ryan Garcia I'm a better boxer

Off the back of last night’s first round TKO win over Ryan Bourland in Puerto Rico, polarizing professional oxer, Jake Paul has warned former world championship holder, Ryan Garcia from chasing a fight with him in the future – claiming it would end badly for the 25-year-old.

Paul, who made his tenth professional walk to the squared circle overnight in San Juan, turned in a dominant opening round TKO win over the above-mentioned former Golden Gloves winner, the overmatched, Bourland.

And improving his winning spree to three consecutive fights, the Ohio native added Bourland to a string of wins over Andre August, and a decision shutout success against former UFC lightweight title challenger, Nate Diaz

Calling for a showdown with current super middleweight champion, Canelo Alvarez in the future, Paul was hit with a warning of his own from former interim WBC lightweight titleholder, Garcia – who vowed to put an end to the social media star’s fleeting boxing career once and for all.

“Okay enough, it’s on I’m going to have to do this!” Ryan Garcia posted on his official X account. “I’m going to end this JAKE PAUL BOXING THING. BRING IT ON JAKE I’M DEAD F*CKING SERIOUS F*CK YOU! HIT MY TEAM UP.”

Replying to Garcia’s offer of a future showdown, Paul claimed was an outright better boxer than the former world championship holder, describing a pairing as “light work”.

Jake Paul welcomes Ryan Garcia fight in the future

“Ryan (Garcia), I love you.” Jake Paul said after last night’s win. “You know that, bro. But you’ve got to chill out. Because there’s a line and you just seem like you’re losing your mind, and acting thirsty and desperate and saying you’re a billionaire when you had one money fight.”

“I’m just saying, just chill, bro,” Jake Paul continued. “But if you do want to fight, that’s, to me, light work. You’ve got no footwork. And as long as you’ve been in the game, I’m a better boxer than you.”
