Jake Paul Tommy Fury

Jake Paul may be fighting Tommy Fury next, but his opponent’s father had some things to say at their pre-fight press conference.

The YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul has accepted his first fight against someone who has pro boxing experience. While he has faced former world champions and Olympians, none have had pro boxing experience until now when he faces off against Fury, who is the younger brother of the heavyweight champion and has a record of 7-0.

Ahead of their clash on December 18th, a press conference was held that saw Tommy, Tyson, and their father John Fury live in attendance while Jake Paul chimed in through live stream by a pool. While this was supposed to build hype for the fight, it was the elder Fury that stole the show, going back and forth with the YouTuber throughout the entirety of the press conference.

Perhaps the biggest moment came when Father Fury told Paul to take off his sunglasses in order to see the fear in the eyes of the influencer. When Paul refused and told Tommy to “shut your bitches up for me,” John stood up and looked as though he was going to punch the television that Paul was speaking through.

This was not the only fiery moment that occurred between John Fury and Jake Paul during this entertaining, if not bizarre, press conference. Later on, Fury made a prediction that his son would knock out the YouTuber and then fornicate with his lady in front of him.

“You know, when Tommy knocks you out, don’t you, he’s gonna bend your girlfriend over and do her like a dog in front of you. So I’m telling you straight up,” Fury said.

Things got somehow more intense towards the end, as John Fury once again tried to get Paul to remove his sunglasses. But again, Paul was having none of it. In return, he offered something for Fury to do instead.

“I can see the fear in your eyes ’cause you won’t take them glasses off, and that’s some first-class shit how he won’t remove his eyewear! Get the glasses off, you idiot,” John Fury said.

“Suck my dick. Suck my dick real good, sir,” Paul responded.

“You ain’t got a fucking dick to suck. You’ve got a fanny between your legs,” Fury retorted.

The wild exchanges between John Fury and Jake Paul during this press conference left some saying that this was the real fight to make. Of course, that will never happen, but what will be going down is the fight with Tommy Fury, set to take place December 18th on pay-per-view.

Frank Mir Will Make Career-High Purse For Kubrat Pulev Fight

Frank Mir

Frank Mir has shocked many by claiming he is in line for a career-high payday when he takes on Kubrat Pulev in the main event of Triller’s Triad Combat show this Saturday night.

During a recent appearance on The MMA Hour, Mir revealed that despite being involved in some of the biggest events in UFC history he has never netted a million-dollar paycheque.

“The second Brock [Lesnar] fight [at UFC 100] was close, but that was the second-biggest of my career. But no, this one [is the biggest],” Mir revealed. “In fact, if I hit my bonuses and I win, I’m basically touching on seven figures, and I’ve never been within a couple $100,000 of that in the MMA world.”

After seeing the money Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder recently made for their trilogy fight, Mir is kind of miffed that he and Lesnar didn’t come anywhere near to those figure despite outselling the heavyweight boxing duo,

“I think that’s a testament to what Triller is doing, pushing the paydays and sharing the income,” Mir said. “I mean, here, I realized this a couple years ago, this is kind of bittersweet for me — I looked at the amount of pay-per-view buys that Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury sold, and what they took home for paydays. Me and Brock sold more pay-per-views, and I didn’t take nowhere near as much as either one of them. I think Brock and I, combined, didn’t take 10 percent of what they did.”

Frank Mir Explains How He’ll Beat Kubrat Pulev This Weekend

“I just make it everything but a boxing match,” Mir said. “It’s too close to the fight to really worry about letting the cat out of the bag, but yeah, behind every punch, he’s not going to be able to throw combos. Every punch, I’m grabbing him afterwards, and then I’m going to work the clinch and just drag on him and really push his grappling cardio, which he doesn’t have to the experience that I do. It’s different. You can ask anybody’s who’s fought MMA — the first time you wrestled with somebody, stood up, and then you had to throw punches again? It’s a different feeling, and it takes a lot of acclamation.

“I have 20 years of doing it, and my endurance and my understanding of how it works, being relaxed and able to still fire off. So obviously boxing at range, even if I thought I was better than him at that, why would I? That’s what he’s best at, where he’s most comfortable, where his heart rate is going to be low. I’m going to jump on him and rag-doll the hell out of him.”

Are you surprised to hear Frank Mir is making the biggest money of his career this weekend?

Jake Paul

Prior to their December professional boxing match, the undefeated punching duo of Tommy Fury and Jake Paul hed a pre-fight press conference, with the latter engaging in a wild war of words with Fury’s father, John Fury in a heated back-and-forth.

Slated to make his fifth professional boxing walk next month, the undefeated, 4-0 Paul looks to continue with a professional career that has seen him so far take a trio of opening round knockout victories against AnEsonGib, Nate Robinson, and Ben Askren — prior to an August split decision triumph against former UFC welterweight kingpin, Tyron Woodley.

For Fury, the 7-0 Manchester-born striker also boasts an undefeated professional record which he intends to improve on his end-of-year pairing with Paul, having most recently taken home a unanimous decision victory over Paul’s teammate, Bellator MMA, and BAMMA alum, Anthony Taylor back on the same card as Paul and the above-mentioned, Woodley.

After months of speculation linking the pair to an eventual professional boxing showdown, Paul and former Love Island feature, Fury is slated to headline a professional boxing card promoted by Showtime on December 18. at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida at a catchweight of 192lbs.

Jake Paul, John Fury trade a multitude of insults ahead of Paul’s December boxing match with Tommy Fury

Appearing remotely for a press conference with BT Sport Boxing ahead of the December date, Paul engaged in a furious war-of-words alongside the trio of Tommy and John Fury, as well as Tommy’s elder brother, reigning WBC heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury.

Firing barbs at Paul, Fury claimed that the Ohio native had made a mistake by agreeing to fight his son, claiming he was “with the big dogs now“.

Shut up schoolboy,” John Fury said to Jake Paul. “And speak when you’re spoken to. You’re with the big dogs now, puppy. Shut up. You’re with the big dogs now, puppy — where you’ll get bit.

When Paul described Fury as a “single, old man” — the Galway-born former boxer claimed that Paul was lucky that he was unable to travel to the United States.

Yeah, I’ll tell you what, you wouldn’t like to meet the old man,” Fury said. “You can count your lucky stars that I’m banned from your country, cause I’d slap you ’till your teeth rattle you bum.

Fury then claimed that his son would handily knock Paul out.

You know Tommy [Fury] knocks you out, don’t you,” Fury said to Jake Paul. “He’s gonna bend your girlfriend over and do her like a dog, in front of you. I’m telling you straight. Get the glasses off, you idiot.

Alan Belcher

Former UFC middleweight Alan Belcher showcased his freakish new frame in his boxing debut, finishing Ryan Shough at a recent Summit FC bout.

Belcher left MMA in 2013 after a long career in the UFC octagon. He faced the likes of Michael Bisping, Yushin Okami, and Patrick Cote during his time with the promotion.

A lot has changed over the years for Belcher, a former UFC middleweight that has someone moved up to heavyweight for this new venture in boxing.

Belcher, like many of his former UFC colleagues, has gotten the urge to compete again and transition from MMA to boxing. His boxing debut went almost as perfect as one could hope for, as he overwhelmed Shough with a few knockdowns en route to a second-round finish at SFC 39.

Check out Belcher’s debut below.

Alan Belcher Is The Latest In A Slew Of Former UFC Standouts To Compete In Boxing

Belcher, along with former UFC champions Vitor Belfort and Anderson Silva, have gotten off to great stars in their young boxing careers. Silva most recently defeated another former UFC champ, Tito Ortiz at a Triller boxing event earlier this year.

On that same card, Belfort knocked out heavyweight boxing legend Evander Holyfield in mere seconds.

Belcher made his professional MMA debut back in 2004, before signing with the UFC in 2006. He had a relatively mixed-bag of a UFC career but did earn wins over the likes of Sean Salmon, Cote, and Rousimar Palhares.

It’s unclear what Belcher’s future looks like in the boxing world, but he’s already off to a great start in his new career venture. At 37 years old, he could still have plenty of time left in the ring, especially without cutting down to 185 pounds as he did in the UFC.

What is your reaction to Alan Belcher’s new and improved physique in boxing?

Nate Diaz Tells Jake Paul: ‘You’d Get Smoked in A Real Fight’

Nate DiazJake Paul and Nate Diaz got into a Twitter back and forth last night after Diaz took shots at one of the YouTuber’s previous boxing opponents, Ben Askren. ‘Funky’ spoke on the Lex Fridman podcast on Jake Paul’s boxing ability going onto compliment his skillset. “So, the thing I said when I went in to […]

Nate Diaz

Jake Paul and Nate Diaz got into a Twitter back and forth last night after Diaz took shots at one of the YouTuber’s previous boxing opponents, Ben Askren. ‘Funky’ spoke on the Lex Fridman podcast on Jake Paul’s boxing ability going onto compliment his skillset.

“So, the thing I said when I went in to fight him [Jake Paul] is maybe he’s good or maybe he’s not. We really have no idea to this point, you know. I knew that Tyron was a lot better in boxing than I was. And so, I thought that there is a good likelihood that Tyron beats him up but there is a chance that Jake is kind of good at this.

“I think what played out is he’s kind of good at it. And if you saw the way I saw it, he was still impressive in his showing and he has obviously put a lot of time into it. So, he’s not bad, I’ll say that much.” (Transcribed by sportskeeda.com)

This clearly didn’t sit well for Diaz who went on to callout Askren for his comments saying he is “a retired wrestler who can’t fight or box”

This led to ‘The Problem Child’ firing back at the comments in the defence of Askren by calling out on Diaz and his record.

Diaz put an end to the talking with his final message to Paul once again calling out the level of competition Paul has faced in a boxing ring.

Nate Diaz has also expressed his interest in scheduling a bout for December in the hope of a return to the octagon.

He has not stepped foot inside the cage since his previous outing in a unanimous decision loss to Leon Edwards.

Jake Paul’s Toughest test to date

Jake Paul’s last outing the ring saw him pick up a victory over Tyron Woodley. However, his next outing is going to be the biggest challenge he has faced this far.

Paul will be put to the test to see just how good his boxing abilities are when he takes on his toughest opponent yet, in the form of undefeated professional British boxer Tommy Fury on December 18th.

Paul also enters the bout sporting an undefeated record however none of his victories have come over professional boxers meaning someone will be losing their clean record come fight night.

Who do you see coming out as the winner when these two step into the ring?

Ben Askren Admits Jake Paul Is ‘Kind Of Good’ At Boxing

Ben AskrenBen Askren has finally given props to Jake Paul for his boxing skills after being knocked out by the YouTuber and then seeing ‘The Problem Child’ outpoint his friend, Tyron Woodley. ‘Funky’ retired from MMA in 2019 after suffering consecutive stoppage losses to Jorge Masvidal and Demian Maia. Ben Askren

Ben Askren has finally given props to Jake Paul for his boxing skills after being knocked out by the YouTuber and then seeing ‘The Problem Child’ outpoint his friend, Tyron Woodley.

‘Funky’ retired from MMA in 2019 after suffering consecutive stoppage losses to Jorge Masvidal and Demian Maia. A major hip surgery followed before he announced he would return to fighting to take on Paul in the boxing ring earlier this year.

Things did not go well for Askren who is known for his elite-level wrestling skills and distinct lack of striking ability. Paul caught him flush in the first round and despite the fact, Askren was able to beat the count the fight was quickly waved off.

Paul has since gone on to beat former UFC champion, Woodley, over eight rounds and even showed some heart to survive tough moments against ‘The Chosen One’

Now, Askren is finally ready to admit that Paul is actually a decent boxer.

“So the thing I said when I went in to fight him [Jake Paul] is maybe he’s good or maybe he’s not. We really have no idea to this point, you know,” Askren said on Lex Freidman’s podcast.

“I knew that Tyron was a lot better in boxing than I was. And so I thought that there is a good likelihood that Tyron beats him up but there is a chance that Jake is kind of good at this. I think what played out is he’s kind of good at it. And if you saw the way I saw it, he was still impressive in his showing and he has obviously put a lot of time into it. So, he’s not bad, I’ll say that much.” (Transcribed by BJPENN.com)

Ben Askren Previously Dismissed Jake Paul’s Boxing Ability

“I think people enjoy it.” Askren told LowKickMMA about celebrity boxing ahead of his fight with Paul. “As far as ‘Is Jake Paul a real fighter?’ No. I don’t really think so. But, do people want to watch him box? The answer is yeah.”

“There is nothing to be made from either one of his fights.” Askren added. “I always joke with some of my kids. It’s like well, you know, I want you to wrestle competition that’s at your level because if you don’t if I throw you in there against Cael Sanderson or Jordan Burroughs, you’re just going to get demolished and I’m not gonna be able to see anything. If you go get someone who’s a bum you’re just going to pin them in 10 seconds, and I’m not going to get to see anything. So with those matches that are really lopsided and in this case it’s because the other person is really terrible.”

“You don’t really take too much away from that because it’s too hard to because the competition is so low that pretty much no matter what he did. He was going to look good.”

Do you agree with Ben Askren? Is Jake Paul a decent boxer?
