Joe Joyce vs Zhilei Zhang Betting Preview

Undefeated in 15 professional fights and earning a world championship for the first time in his career last September, Olympic silver medalist boxer, Joe Joyce puts his interim division crown on the line, as well as his undefeated record against Chinese veteran challenger, Zhilei Zhang this weekend in the capital.

Boasting an unbeaten 15-0 professional record, Joyce, the current interim WBO heavyweight champion, takes on the 39-year-old challenge, Zhang, who dropped his first professional loss in the form of a decision defeat to Filip Hrgovic on the undercard of Oleksandr Usyk’s title rematch win over Anthony Joshua in Saudi Arabia last August.

For Joyce, the renowned knockout artist looks to solidify his status as interim gold holder under the governing body of the WBO, and defend a crown he won with a penultimate round KO of former world champion, Joseph Parker at the AO Arena in Manchester last September.

Yet to taste defeat in the wake of a run of victories over division veterans, Joyce is touted to retain and improve on his undefeated record this weekend in London against Zhang – with BetWay currently placing the Londoner as a massive -1,000 betting favorite against the Chinese challenger, Zhang

A former WBO oriental heavyweight titleholder, Zhang has a ultimately slight chance of upsetting the odds and handing Joyce his first loss according to bettors and punters, with the 39-year-old placed as a massive +600 underdog to win interim WBO spoils.

A former Commonwealth and European Games boxing gold medalist, Joyce, touted as one of the most promising boxers to come out of the UK during his rise through the heavyweight ranks, took silver at the 2016 summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Embarking on somewhat of a legend killing tour before his knockout victory over Parker last September, Joyce had also landed triumphs over the likes of Bermane Stiverne, Carlos Takam, and is the only man to defeat current WBA regular heavyweight champion, Daniel Dubois.

Boasting an incredible 93% knockout rate with 14 finishes in 15 professional victories, Joyce can be backed also as short as -300 to land a knockout win over Zhang this weekend at the Copper Box in London – with the latter returning and hotly-closing as a +800 to hand Joyce what would be his first loss, and first defeat by stoppage to boot.

The current WBO interim heavyweight champion, Joyce will have one eye firmly placed on the future of WBA, IBF, and IBO heavyweight gold holder, Usyk – who continues to find himself linked to a heavyweight championship title unification clash against WBC heavyweight kingpin, Tyson Fury

A former WBO oriental heavyweight champion, Zhang, also a silver medalist at the 2008 summer Olympic Games in Beijing, defeated Peter Graham with a blistering first round knockout in their January 2017 on home soil in his native China.

Turning professional in 2017, amongst his run of victories over veteran former titleholders and title challengers, Joyce has been heralded in wins over the likes of Alexander Ustinov, Michael Wallisch, and Christian Hammer.

Deontay Wilder declares himself powerful KO Mike Tyson not an arguement

Former WBC heavyweight king Deontay Wilder believes he stands alone as the most powerful boxer ever.

‘The Bronze Bomber’ has always been a serial knockout artist with the power to end anyone’s night with a single blow.

In his illustrious career thus far, Wilder has stood tall with an impressive record of 43-2-1.

The mind blowing aspect of the Alabama boxer is the fact that he has knocked out every single opponent he has faced, apart from Tyson Fury.

In his wars with ‘The Gypsy King’, Deontay Wilder still managed to knockdown Fury multiple times, nearly putting his lights out in the final round of their first bout.

The heavyweight division is often considered the most prestigious destination in boxing, with countless icons cementing their legacies through many generations of boxing.

In Wilder’s eyes he is a cut above the rest and finds himself incomparable to those who came before him, including the devastating ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson.

Speaking with EsNews, Deontay Wilder said that the debate between him and any former heavyweight has long been diminished.

“It’s me! That is not even an argument no more, come on. It’s me, It’s me, it’s not arguable, and there is nothing wrong with that,” Deontay Wilder said. “Like I told Mike, as history unfolds, they say that it repeats itself, but it is supposed to be better than the past history. There is nothing wrong with that, because I love all the old-school fighters that came forward, like I told Mike, that is how it is supposed to be.”

To Wilder’s credit, the beauty of commanding his power means that even on his least efficient nights in the ring, his power has proved to construct a winning route that can not be avoided.

It is difficult to say his surreal knockout percentage of 98% will be replicated anytime soon, and with his recent knockout over Robert Helenius, it looks like the brutality of Wilder has returned.

“The new generation is supposed to come up and pass the old generation, because if that doesn’t occur that means that we haven’t accomplished anything, we haven’t evolved into nothing. This world is all about timing and patience and good decision-making,” Deontay Wilder said. “If you ain’t evolving, then you are behind, you get left behind, you are becoming part of the problem that we are trying to get rid of. I told Mike, you paved the way for me, like Muhammad Ali had paved the way for you and I will pave the way for those who are coming behind me.”

Deontay Wilder linked with bout against Francis Ngannou

Wilder has also been linked with a potential boxing clash against former undisputed UFC heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou since the turn of the year, welcoming a clash in Africa to boot

Back in March, the two clashed outside of the Kaseya Center following a Miami Heat game.

Paul was leaving the arena when he was suddenly approached by Mayweather and his entourage.

Although Paul admittedly criticized his own actions for fleeing the scene, he is now saying it was all a ploy to stir up fight rumours.

Jake Paul claims his altercation with Floyd Mayweather was a PR stunt

Speaking with Wade Plem on his livestream, the ‘Problem Child’ claims it was a successful PR stunt which attracted many eyes.

This is not the first time Paul has clashed with ‘Money’ Mayweather.

The two have a history dating back to the leadup of his brother Logan’s fight with Mayweather.

They came face-to-face in a heated debate until Jake snatched his hat and a brawl broke out.

Mayweather, who’s professional record stands immaculately at 50-0, is constantly in question regarding whether or not he is actually retired, but he is clearly still enthused by the fight game.

Paul is coming off the first professional loss of his career to the hands of heavyweight icon Tyson Fury’s younger brother, Tommy Fury.

Paul has also recently signed a contract with the PFL, leaving him numerous routes to choose from in his next venture, although a rematch with Fury is favoured.

Speaking ahead of UFC 287 this weekend in Miami, Florida, St-Pierre revealed how he had been approached with the opportunity to fight former multiple-time boxing world champion, Mayweather in recent years.

“They asked me to box the biggest boxer of our time,” Georges St-Pierre explained. “I said to them, ‘It’s either you let me use my legs or the takedown’… I’m like well it’s one or the other, I’m not going to fight the best boxer for money.
