Jake Paul makes a sizeable offer to face Jorge Masvidal within the MMA ruleset.

Masvidal is currently booked to face Nate Diaz in a boxing match on June 1, roughly four-and-a-half years on from their BMF title match in the main event of UFC 244.

The bout will also be the first of several boxing matches Masvidal is set to compete in. The 39-year-old had retired following his fight against Gilbert Burns at UFC 287 but felt the urge to compete again, like many fighters.

With the switch to boxing, Masvidal has also opened the door to being involved in ‘crossover’ boxing events, which has the chance of netting him a big paycheque.

The biggest one of these fights would come against Paul, who has managed to make quite the impression on the combat sports scene over the past few years. Paul has also faced several former MMA fighters, why draw the line at Masvidal?

Paul has even gone as far as say he would be willing to face Masvidal in an MMA fight. Paul had signed to PFL last year but nothing has been made official in terms of an actual MMA fight.

“The one thing I will say, they’re digging their own grave,” Paul said on his BS podcast. “I’m being so serious when I say that I want to fight them in MMA. Either Masvidal or Diaz in the PFL. $10,000,000 offer for either one of those guys. Again, they will literally hide behind the fact — Masvidal, ‘You can’t even box. What the f*** are you going to do coming over to MMA, bro? I’m f****** from Miami, Florida, bro. F****** f*** you, dude, don’t disrespect me you f****** jamoke.’ F****** bird brain, that’s what he hides behind.”

Paul would even call out former UFC champion Sean Strickland and rising contender Paddy Pimblett.

“Same with f****** Paddy [Pimblett] and Sean Strickland, all of these guys hide behind these crazy things, but still none of them have shown up to the table to talk any business about anything to make anything actually happen in a real fight, a real spar,” Paul continued. “Whatever it is. So the offer still stands there. I want either one of those guys in MMA.”

Who wins in MMA, Jake Paul or Jorge Masvidal?

Former two-time welterweight title challenger, Jorge Masvidal may be gearing up for a June return to the boxing ring in a rematch against fellow UFC alum, Nate Diaz – however, the Miami native has confirmed plans to make an Octagon comeback before too long.

Masvidal, a former perennial contender at the welterweight limit and the promotion’s inaugural symbolic BMF champion, called time on his professional mixed martial arts career back in April of last year.

Suffering a fourth consecutive loss in a decision shutout defeat to Gilbert Burns, Florida veteran, Masvidal confirmed plans to end his tenure in the sport, following a decision loss to arch-rival, Colby Covington – and a pair of championship fight losses to former champion, Kamaru Usman.

And switching his attention to fight promoting with Gamebred Fighting Championship, Masvidal will renew his career in combat sports in June in a return to Las Vegas, taking on the above-mentioned, Diaz in a re-run of their 2019 fight under the UFC banner.

“I’m definitely coming back to the UFC and get a W for my city, and my family, my kids and everybody that believes in me,” Jorge Masvidal explained during an interview with MMA Junkie. “I have to go back to the UFC.”

In his most recent win, Masvidal would turn in a third round doctor’s stoppage TKO win over the above-mentioned Diaz in the pair’s symbolic BMF title fight, during a clash at Madison Square Garden five years ago.

Jorge Masvidal wanted to box Jake Paul but ‘Gamebred’ says the UFC wouldn’t allow him to do so.

Masvidal and Paul have not seen eye-to-eye since the two trained together ahead of ‘The Problem Child’s’ fight against Ben Askren. In 2021, Paul claimed he had a five million dollar offer for Masvidal for the two to box, but ‘Gamebred’ was locked into his UFC contract.

However, with Masvidal now out of his UFC contract and taking boxing fights, many thought a fight would happen. But, speaking on The MMA Hour, Jorge Masvidal revealed why the boxing match hasn’t happened.

“I’ll address this little coward right now because I know he’s watching this s*** like a little creep. This little pervert creep be peeping on your show, brother. Listen [Jake], the UFC doesn’t like your b**** a**. Dana White, don’t like your b**** a**. Obviously, Hunter Campbell doesn’t like your b**** a**. They said, ‘We’re not going to let you make money with this guy,’ because at the end of the day, we’re partners. Me and Nate, we’re going to make money right now,” Masvidal said.

Jorge Masvidal confirms he's unretired from MMA sends fans into raptures about UFC return

Jorge Maasvidal says the UFC is letting him box, so he does still have to get the promotion’s approval. According to ‘Gamebred’ with White and the UFC not liking Paul it ruled out a potential boxing match between the two.

“Jake don’t sell like Logan. The UFC allowed me to do some boxing matches, but Jake had said some unpleasant things about Dana White and also about the UFC. So the UFC basically said, ‘F*** you, we’re not going to let you go get money with someone who is not the biggest draw.’ I can fight Logan Paul, but Jake Paul’s an a**,” Jorge Masvidal added.

Instead of boxing Jake Paul, Jorge Mavidal will be rematching Nate Diaz on June 1, but this time it will be in the boxing ring.

Masvidal and Diaz first met in MMA for the inaugural BMF title back at UFC 244 in 2019, with ‘Gamebred’ winning by doctor stoppage. The two will now be having their rematch in boxing, after Diaz made his boxing debut last year, which he lost by decision to Jake Paul.

Masvidal vs. Diaz 2 is set to take place at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California.
