Jorge Masvidal is set to make his return to the squared circle for All Elite Wrestling next month.

‘Gamebred’ is currently slated for a welterweight showdown with No. 5 ranked contender Gilbert Burns at UFC 287 on April 8. According to the man himself, that won’t be the only time you can see the self-proclaimed BMF champion in action this April. In an interview with Inside the Ropes, Jorge Masvidal revealed that he is returning to the world of professional wrestling and plans to do some real damage to the stars of AEW.

“I can’t tell you that I’ll be in the show, involved in the show (AEW Dynamite on 4/26) but I can tell you as a fan, I’ll definitely be there,” Masvidal confirmed. “Now, if they got time to include this guy because they know that when I come for these wrestlers, none of that fake stuff. I’m trying to hurt them for real, ask Chris Jericho. Ask anybody that gets in the way, I’m trying to hurt them for real and they know it. So, if they want that heat again, it’s cool but I don’t think they wanna see me back in there after what I did.

Jorge Masvidal Hits Chris Jericho with His Signature Flying Knee

“Tell you the truth, I’m gonna go as a fan because I love their shows,” Masvidal continued. “They got the rowdiest shows when it comes to pro wrestling so I’m gonna be out there definitely just to show love but, I don’t think they want to see that over there. Ever since I did that to Jericho, they’re kind of worried about me” (transcription by Inside the Ropes).

In September 2021, Jorge Masvidal appeared on an episode of AEW Rampage alongside American Top Team founder Dan Lambert and former UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos. ‘Gamebred’ involved himself in a tag team match that pitted Chris Jericho and Jake Hager against Ethan Page and Scorpio Sky. Following the contest, Masvidal entered the ring and delivered a flying knee that flattened Jericho, reminiscent of his viral 5-second knockout against Ben Askren in 2019.

It will be a busy month for the two-time UFC title challenger as his promotion, Gamebred Boxing, delivers a stacked lineup of fights on UFC Fight Pass on April 1. Competing at the event are a slew of MMA legends including Paul Daley, Vitor Belfort, ‘Jacare’ Souza, Jose Aldo, and Jeremy Stephens. The card will be headlined by a crossover boxing bout between Roy Jones Jr and Anthony ‘Showtime’ Pettis.

May will be another important month for Jorge Masvidal as he is expected back in court on May 10 for a pretrial hearing in his alleged assault of Colby Covington outside of a Miami steakhouse last year.

UFC welterweight contender Jorge Masvidal has wasted no time in making a statement at AEW. Leaked footage from the latest ‘Rampage’ show sees the BMF champ nail the six-time WWF/WWE Champion, Chris Jericho, with his trademark flying knee, queuing pantomime boos from the crowd.

The highlight of his UFC career, the flying knee is clearly a reproduction of ‘Gamebred’s’ five-second TKO stoppage of former ONE Championship and Bellator titleholder Ben Askren [19-2-0], at July 2019’s UFC 239 – a fight that broke the record for the fastest ever UFC knockout!

After a second failed UFC title challenge against Kamaru Usman at Jacksonville’s UFC 261 in April, pundits have speculated whether pro wrestling could now be a permanent fixture for the 36-year-old Masvidal.

Speaking at the post-show press conference, the CEO of All Elite Wrestling (AEW) Tony Khan offered his views on Masvidal’s character:

“Jorge comes ‘cause he loves wrestling. He likes having a good time. I think he likes me, I like Jorge a lot and it’s fun having him here. So, it’s really an honour to have Jorge Masvidal. I mean, Jorge is such a cool guy.

“I can’t tell you what a nice person he is, and he’s always really been good to me like not when we’re at shows but just around Florida and stuff. And it was a big deal for him to come here, and who knows?”

Would you like to see more of Jorge Masvidal in AEW? Or has he still got more to show in the UFC?

Jorge Masvidal “baptized” pro wrestling legend Chris Jericho during the Miamian’s own baptism into the world of professional wrestling.

American Top Team (ATT) owner Dan Lambert has been making frequent appearances in pro wrestling promotion All Elite Wrestling (AEW) as of late, and he’s been bringing some of his star clients along with him. Jorge Masvidal is among the names that have accompanied Lambert in his AEW voyage, but an upcoming episode of AEW Rampage will be the first time that Masvidal will be seen participating in the choreographed violence.

SPOILER ALERT: On tomorrow’s episode of AEW Rampage, ATT members inserted their dominance over the promotion when they invaded the program nWo-style. At one point, UFC superstar Jorge Masvidal “laid out” former WWE and AEW champion Chris Jericho and seemed to take great pleasure in doing so. Peep it out in the clip below.

With execution and a crowd reaction like that, Masvidal might have a future in the wrestling business if the UFC doesn’t consistently address his fighter-pay concerns. When Masvidal does return to the Octagon, however, he hopes it’ll be in a fight that gets him as close as possible to another title shot. From the looks of things, he may be one or two KOs away from a shot at the AEW title as well, shout out and fair warning to Kenny Omega.

What do you think of Jorge Masvidal’s foray into the world of professional wrestling?

As we reported late Sunday evening, Brock Lesnar made his WWE in-ring return at the SummerSlam pay-per-view on Sunday night and his match was stopped prematurely due to a massive elbow that opened up a bad cut on his opponent, Randy Orton. It was announced that Lesnar was the winner via TKO.

In an update, F4WOnline.com reporter Dave Meltzer noted during his show, Wrestling Observer Radio, that the elbows and opening a cut on Orton was actually part of WWE’s plans for the match, as crazy as it might seem.

The real story, however, was one particular wrestlers’ reaction to the end of the match.

Meltzer is also reporting that popular WWE Superstar Chris Jericho was unaware of WWE’s plans for the finish of the match, and as a result, got irate thinking he went off script and hurt a fellow performer to such a degree because of recklessness.

At this point, things escalated until the situation got physical. Lesnar and Jericho ended up in a real fight that had to be broken up by Vince McMahon, Triple H and others. For the full story with a lot of specific details on how exactly the fight started, who started it and how bad it got, read the following article at our pro wrestling affiliate site, 24Wrestling.com: Report: Brock Lesnar & Chris Jericho In Backstage Fight At SummerSlam

UFC featherweight Conor McGregor may have another fight to worry about instead of his UFC 202 contest against Nate Diaz, and it’s with the entire World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) locker room.

In a recent media conference call for UFC 202, McGregor was asked if he would ever consider a career in the industry of professional wrestling, and had this to say:

“For the most part, those WWE guys are p*ssies, to be honest,” McGregor said. “They’re messed up p*ssies, if you ask me. Fair play to Brock [Lesnar], he got in and fought, but at the end of the day he was juiced up to the f*cking eye balls, so how can I respect that? And then what’s the other guy? The other guy hasn’t fought yet, so I don’t know about him yet.”

“There’s some dons in that wrestling game,” McGregor said. “The McMahons, they’re dons. Triple H is a don. The Rock is a don. But the rest of them are p*ssies.”

“I haven’t really thought of that to be honest,” he said. “Again, that’s a little more show business. This is the fight business.”

McGregor would take a lot of heat from WWE fans following his comments, and took to Twitter to apologize in his own special way:

Current and former WWE stars wasted no time to respond to the 145-pound champion on Twitter, you can read their reactions here:

McGregor will take on Diaz in the main event of UFC 202 live on pay-per-view (PPV), from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on August 20, 2016.

WWE Reaction to UFC 141: Did Brock Lesnar Lose on Purpose?

As everyone knows, Brock Lesnar got knocked out pretty fast in his comeback fight Friday night. In fact, it was like Brock wasn’t even fighting and instead it was a poorly trained clone.

Almost immediately after his defeat Lesnar announced during the pay-per-view telecast that he was retiring, and as many of you have read, since then people have been anticipating his return to World Wrestling Entertainment.

I actually wrote an article yesterday as to why the company or fans don’t need him back (from a business not a personal standpoint).

However, this article isn’t about whether he should return; it’s about the recent remarks made by the first Undisputed Champion, Chris Jericho.

Yesterday Jericho Tweeted:

“Lesnar just took a dive….”

Odds are Jericho is just working people and trying to get everyone off his back in regards to who the mystery man that will be returning tomorrow night on Raw. Plus, it’s Chris Jericho, this is what he does!

However lets just imagine for a second that Jericho wasn’t trying to blow smoke and actually might believe Lesnar took a dive. Hypothetically of course.

Anything is possible.

Lesnar is by no means old, but he sure has had a few rough years with his health and he’s not the dominate fighter he once was, he had a decent run for someone who entered the sport much later in life than most do and maybe he realized that he just didn’t need or want to continue to train 6-10 months a year for one fight that he could possibly lose and be a laughing stock. Maybe he realized that he could make much more money for a months work while being almost universally cheered and still looked at like a monster.

If you haven’t understood what I’m getting at, I’m saying maybe Lesnar took a dive to actually go back to the one place he seemed to hate…..professional wrestling.

The last six months seem way too coincidental and I don’t believe in coincidences.

In June, CM Punk mentions Brock Lesnar during his shoot promo.

In July, Dana White visited WWE HQ and had a meeting with Vince McMahon.

Lesnar then appeared in the new WWE 12 video game. This is the first time Lesnar had been associated with a WWE product in years.

Then during during a pre-fight press conference, Lesnar made some (in hindsight) interesting remarks where he said “Wrestling is fake” and “I am Brock Lesnar the UFC fighter.”

Just a few hours later he was Brock Lesnar the retired UFC fighter.

Now as I said, Jericho is probably just working everyone and he knew what he tweeted would go viral…and it did! But do you (the reader) think what he said has any merit to it? Do you think Brock took a dive so he could go make more money for one match then just disappear forever.

People will remember him much more as a dominate force if he goes back to WWE and destroys people compared to getting his butt kicked in UFC. No man likes to be remembered as someone who loses.

Update:

It appears that I need to clarify the subject of the article because apparently some people have been getting upset and taking the idea of this article to the extreme.

This was just a scenario I put together, I never said Jericho was right or that Lesnar took a dive, it was all a hypothetical situation in which I asked you (the reader) to chime in and ask whether you thought it was possible.

What I wrote here was not my personal opinions, it was just a topic to get people to throw out ideas and talk.
