Next up on the UFC Stockholm main card is a lightweight bout between Damir Hadzovic and Christos Giagos.
Round 1:
Giagos lands a hard body kick to get things started. Hadzovic stuffs a nice takedown attempt. A nice leg kick lands for Giagos, and he follows up with a bod kick, right into a huge takedown into side control. Hadzovic scrambles to his feet nicely, only to get taken down by Giagos again. Hadzovic and hits Giagos with some hard shots to end the round.
Round 2:
Both men come out hard in the second round, Hadzovic looking a bit rocked after a lead uppercut but maintains his composure. Some nice combinations being put together by Giagos now, who senses that Hadzovic is less than 100 percent.
Giagos with a nice takedown into half guard. Back to the feet for Hadzovic, but Giagos again with the takedown, going to try to take the back of Hadzovic against the cage. Hadzovic is again able to get back to his feet.
Body kick from Giagos who follows up with a failed takedown attempt. Both men are very tired at this point. Hadzovic puts Giagos on his back with a perfectly timed takedown to end the round.
Round 3:
A nice takedown from Giagos early on to start the round. Hadzovic gets to his feet after Giagos stood up to adjust position. Hadzovic catches Giagos with a left hook as he circles away, but Giagos makes him pay with a quick takedown, which Hadzovic gets back to his feet after pretty quickly.
Hadzovic lands a nice shot, and Giagos is put on his back after failing to takedown Hadzovic. Giagos throws up a triangle attempt for a split second while on the ground. Nothing of significance lands for Hadzovic as he is on top, and Giagos gets to his feet to end the round, and the fight.
Official Result: Christos Giagos def. Damir Hadzovic via unanimous decision (29-27, 29-27, 29-28)

History was at stake when Charles Oliveira made the trip to the Octagon to fight Christos Giagos on the prelims of tonight’s (Sat., September 22, 2018) UFC Fight Night 137 at Ginásio do Ibirapuera in São Paulo, Brazil.
The flashy, constricting submission specialist had scored 10 tapouts in his eight-year UFC tenure. The number tied him with UFC and MMA pioneer Royce Gracie for the most of all-time. The current lightweight and sometime featherweight had an up-and-down UFC career at times. His grappling, however, was always one of the most dangerous single skillsets in mixed martial arts.
The Brazilian mat technician proved why once again in Sao Paulo, submitting Giagos with a rear-naked choke. He finished UFC foes with six different submissions. With this latest win, he now passes Royce Gracie for the record of most submissions in UFC history. He’s submitted Jeremy Stephens, Clay Guida, Darren Elkins, and Myles Jury, among others.
Oliveira is now in a class of his own in a fitting piece of UFC history after two longtime fighters had retired on the card. Watch his record-breaking submission here:

UFC Sao Paulo preliminary card results are underway as the Las Vegas-based promotion holds this latest event on television for fight fans around the world to watch the show.
It’s once again fight day here at LowKickMMA, and the talent on display tonight (Saturday, September 22, 2018) will come from in the form of UFC Sao Paulo. Headlining the card are Eryk Anders and Thiago Santos, but there’s a whole bunch of great fights also taking place on the preliminary section of the card.
Charles Oliveira vs. Christos Giagos in a lightweight bout closes the preliminary card on FOX Sports 1 in what should be an interesting fight.
Francisco Trinaldo vs. Evan Dunham is next in a lightweight bout.
Luis Henrique vs. Ryan Spann is next in a light heavyweight bout.
Augusto Sakai vs. Chase Sherman in a heavyweight bout opens the FOX Sports 1 preliminary bouts.
Sérgio Moraes vs. Ben Saunders in a welterweight bout finishes off the UFC Fight Pass preliminary card.
Mayra Bueno Silva vs. Gillian Robertson is next in a women’s strawweight bout.
Thales Leites vs. Hector Lombard is next in a middleweight bout.

Opening the UFC Fight Pass prelims is Livia Renata Souza vs. Alex Chambers in a women’s strawweight bout. In round 1, Souza with the takedown straight into mount. Chambers tries to scramble up and puts herself right into a guillotine and got the win.
