UFC welterweight Mike Perry will have a fight on his hands this November.

Perry will go one-on-one with Cerrone in the main event of UFC Fight Night 139 from the Pepsi Center on November 10th. Cerrone, of course, goes by the nickname, “Cowboy,” which has apparently made Perry assume he’s the enemy of the Native American community.

“Platinum” recently took to Twitter to post an odd video in tribute to Native Americans. He dressed in Native American attire and came out of a smokey Octagon. Perry then vowed to tirelessly hunt down Cerrone “for his crimes of defamation.”

He even had a wanted poster with Cerrone on it and threw a tomahawk and shot an arrow at it.

Check it out here:

“I support the legendary Native American warriors and I am tirelessly hunting this @cowboycerrone for his crimes of defamation ! I will catch him across state lines in Denver Colorado, November 10th for alll the people of the world to see the battle between ” vs

The issues between Perry and Cerrone are anything but comical. Cerrone decided to leave his longtime Jackson-Wink camp upon Perry’s arrival to the team.

Perry was allegedly given preferential treatment, not to mention Cerrone has his own issues with Mike Winkeljohn. Their clash inside the Octagon will certainly be an interesting, and perhaps even an emotional affair.

As for Perry’s ‘tribute’ to the Native Americans, well, that was just strange.

Prominent JacksonWink fighter Michelle Waterson isn’t going to pick sides in the Donald Cerrone Mike-Winkeljohn beef.

JacksonWink MMA, one of the most respected gyms in the sport, came under fire last month when “Cowboy” Cerrone criticized longtime striking coach Winkeljohn on the Joe Rogan Experience MMA Show podcast.

Many former training partners of Cerrone, including Diego Sanchez, fired back at “Cowboy”. Stating that Cerrone isn’t considered a teammate any longer. Others like Waterson had a more neutral position:

“All I can say is that’s family, you know?” Waterson said Monday at a media day promoting her upcoming UFC 229 main-card bout against Felice Herrig. “Families get into fights sometimes and unfortunately this fight got aired out a little bit to the public.”

“I love and respect both Donald and Coach Wink immensely,” Waterson said. “I wouldn’t have been at Jackson’s without Donald, he’s the one who introduced me to Coach Jackson and Coach Wink and I wouldn’t be here if not for Coach Wink. I’ve been with him for almost over a decade, he’s a father figure to me. Both of them are very headstrong, and they are very like-minded, and I’m sure that they will figure out their issues.”

Change For The Better?

Waterson is obviously in a difficult position. However, she appears to be handling the added chaos quite well.

As for Cerrone, he has been training at his ranch just outside the Albuquerque city limits in preparation for his fight with Mike Perry.

Waterson will admit there has been change at JacksonWink MMA. But the “The Karate Hottie” believes it’s all for the better.

“Evolution is inevitable, change is inevitable, if there is no change, you don’t grow,” Waterson said. “So yes, I do think it has changed. But I don’t think it has changed for the worse, I think it has changed for the good. We have new blood and we have great camaraderie and it’s still a family to me. I go there when I’m feeling down and when I need to get away from all the outside noise, the gym is my home. It’s my sanctuary.”

Cerrone will take on Perry in the co-main event of November’s UFC Denver. Whether or not he repairs his damaged relationship with JacksonWink MMA remains to be seen.

Classic ‘Cowboy’

One could just write Cerrone’s latest injury off as typical “Cowboy,” as he’s teased an injury online before. But complicating matters is his upcoming fight against Mike Perry at UFC Fight Night 139 on Nov. 10, 2018, in Denver, Colorado. Not only is Cerrone scheduled to fight on that historic UFC 25th anniversary show, but he’s in the co-main event.

Cerrone didn’t go into details about how he injured his arm, however, he did assure fans that he would be ready to go come November in front of his hometown crowd.

Although “Cowboy” didn’t shed light on the cause of his injury it can be safely assumed that this could be the latest in a long line of extreme sports mishaps for the UFC vet. Earlier this month Cerrone told a horrific tale on the Joe Rogan MMA podcast. He detailed how he nearly drowned in a scuba diving accident.

UFC Fight Night 139 is headlined by Frankie Edgar vs.Chan Sung Jung. Jung will be making his long-awaited return to the Octagon as he takes on perennial contender Edgar.

Heres how the rest of UFC Fight Night 139 looks:

Donald Cerrone vs. Mike Perry

Joseph Benavidez vs. Ray Borg

Raquel Pennington vs. Germaine de Randamie

Luis Pena vs. Mike Trizano

Maycee Barber vs. M. Kahaunaele-Stevenson

Amanda Cooper vs. Ashley Yoder

Alonzo Menifield vs. Saparbeg Safarov

Chas Skelly vs. Bobby Moffett

Ricardo Ramos vs. Ricky Simón

Beneil Dariush vs. Chris Gruetzemacher

Davi Ramos vs. John Gunther

Cowboy Isn’t Impressed By ‘Arrogant’ Leon Edwards

Things will be very interesting when these two share the Octagon.

The post Cowboy Isn’t Impressed By ‘Arrogant’ Leon Edwards appeared first on LowKickMMA.com.

Cowboy Cerrone is not impressed by Leon Edwards.

The former UFC lightweight title challenger will headline UFC Singapore this weekend (Sat., June 23, 2018) against the rising welterweight contender.

Edwards seems extremely confident in his ability heading into the fight, but Cowboy isn’t too fond of Edwards confidence – or “arrogance” as Cerrone calls it. In a recent interview with MMA Fighting, Cerrone admits that he’s not impressed with the 26-year-old:

“He’s a real arrogant, cocky motherf*cker, to be honest with you,” Cerrone said. “So, I don’t know, we’ll see, but I’m not too impressed with him at all. We were out doing a media tour, he was just really vocal and angry the whole time, just wanted to be mad and had nothing but just rude-ass comments to say.

“I was like, damn, man, I’m a f*cking veteran in this sport. You’re talking about you’re just going to steamroll me, and I’m old, you’re new. And it’s like, damn, okay, sure. I told him, ‘You’re gonna have to go home and tell your momma an old, slow dude beat your ass.’

“That’s alright though. He’s not that bold, he’s not talking sh*t to my face like that. I’ll beat the f*ck outta anybody. I’ll f*cking kick the sh*t outta you, let’s not get that confused.”

Stars such as Colby Covington, Chael Sonnen, Conor McGregor, and so many more have made a name for themselves off of trash talk.

Edwards seems to be following suit, yet Cerrone has advised the young Birmingham native against such an approach, however, he doesn’t seem to be taking to it:

“[He’s trying to] convince himself,” Cerrone said. “He’s saying that I’m trying to become his friend because that way I feel like the beating is just going to be less. I was like, oh my God, you’re so weird.

“I tried to explain to him, I said, ‘Look, man. The Colby Covington approach, you look like a f*cking asshole. You look like a complete f*cking dick. Why would you want that? Why would you want people to think that you’re a dick? Be a good guy. Why would you want to be the angry fighter?’ Like, sure, fighting is what we do in our sport, but, dude, we’re also cool people.

“Conor (McGregor) is a whole different demon, that son of a b*tch went in there and did it and backed it all up. That’s a whole different animal of its own. But Colby [and others are] trying to emulate it and I don’t know what the hell’s going on.”

Donald Cerrone’s Next Opponent Guarantees Win Over ‘Cowboy’

Darren Till is coming to make a statement when he takes on UFC veteran Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone next month (October 21, 2017) at UFC Fight Night 118. Darren Till is coming to make a statement when he takes on UFC veteran Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone next month (October 21, 2017) at UFC Fight Night 118.

Till is undefeated in his mixed martial arts (MMA) career thus far, having racked up a record of 15-0-1 coming off back-to-back wins inside the Octagon. The welterweight prospect is looking to propel himself into a whole new tier of competition, however, if he can get past a former UFC lightweight title challenger in “Cowboy” Cerrone. While Till doesn’t feel that Cerrone and Jackson-Wink took him seriously upon the fight’s announcement, he believes they’ve changed their tune after doing their research on him (quotes via MMA Junkie):

“It’s been good getting a bit of attention,” Till said. “And he said he doesn’t know me, which is fine because it’s not disrespect. On Instagram, Jackson-Wink put up ‘Donald Cerrone versus who,’ but I’m sure they’re researching me now and thinking, ‘We have to take this kid seriously.’

“At the end of the day, Donald Cerrone is a 34-year-old man who is on his way out and drinks every day. I’m a 210-pound gorilla, and they should be scared because I’m not scared, and I’m going to go in there and knock him out.”

Both men have something to prove heading into this fight; as Cerrone needs to make up for back-to-back losses, and Till looks to make a name for himself with what would be the biggest win of his career. Till is extremely confident heading into the fight and believes it’s a risky one for Cerrone, but is thankful that he took the fight anyways:

“He’s got to come in and win because he’s on a losing streak, but I’ve got to come in and prove who I am,” Till said. “This is for me to now build my name, and I’m going to build my name off Donald Cerrone.

“I’m over the moon, and I can’t stop thinking about the opportunity the UFC have given me. I’m grateful to Donald, too, because this is a risky fight for him, so you’ve got to take your hat off to him because he’ll fight anyone at any time. It’s still a bad move and he shouldn’t have taken the fight against me, because I’m a gorilla.”

Till claims he is going full throttle at Cerrone when they’re locked inside the Octagon, and vows to ‘destroy’ the longtime UFC veteran en-route to MMA greatness:

“Whether it’s five rounds, the main event or pressure, I don’t care,” Till said. “If you can’t handle them things then you shouldn’t bother fighting and you may as well quit. I honestly don’t care – I’m just going in there to beat Donald Cerrone.

“I’m straight back into camp, no messing about. I’ve had a week off just to get over a few little injuries, but we start again this week. I’m coming to destroy Donald Cerrone in one round, and that’s what’s going to happen.”
