The former president of the United State, Donald Trump, will be torn when watching the UFC 272 on March 5.

In the main event of the evening, avid Trump supporters Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal will settle their beef inside the UFC Octagon.

During a recent appearance on The MMA Hour, Masvidal suggested that Trump will be rooting for him to beat Covington at UFC 272, he said.

“I know that for a fact. (Donald Trump) knows what a fighter looks like. He was around boxing forever. He knows what a nut-hugger, ass-kissing machine like Colby looks like. Colby tried to kiss his hand and Trump pulled that sh*t back! That’s on video man, it’s me all day.”

Colby Covington Doubts Jorge Masvidal Even Voted For Donald Trump

‘Chaos’ responded to Masvidal’s recent remarks during an appearance at the  UFC 270 live weigh-ins.

“My reaction is that I’m team captain. I’m still, you know, Jorge’s Daddy and he’s just following in the footsteps of his Daddy,” Covington said at the 1:48:00 mark of the below video. “He just likes me so much that he wants to do everything that I do.

“Let’s be honest, did Jorge even vote for Donald Trump? Because I know I did. I’d love for the voters out there to go look it up and see if Jorge actually voted for Trump. You know I don’t if they let felons vote for Trump. You know, it’s good we’ve got a felon on the Republican side because there is so many felons and criminals on the liberal side. So let’s be honest. Covington and Masvidal are coming off losses to the UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman. ‘Chaos’ recently dropped to a decision defeat against Usman. Masvidal was KO’d by ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ last time out after previously going five rounds with the champ on a weeks’ notice.

Former United States president, Donald Trump recently received an honorary ninth-degree black belt in Taekwondo at his Palm Beach, Florida resort, Mar-a-Lago. 

Trump, the 45. United States president from 2017 to 2021, received an honorary ninth-degree black belt in Taekwondo from Kukkiwon president, Lee Dong Seong with the sport governing body president claiming that he “heard that Donald Trump is highly interested in Taekwondo” as per a quote by Korean outlet, Dong-A-Ilbo.

Posting several pictures on their official Facebook page, Kukkiwon maintained in a disclaiming caption that the ceremony involving the former United States president was “not related [to] any other political issues.“

“It is my pleasure and honor to receive this honorary certificate,” Dong-A-Ilbo quoted Donald Trump as saying. “Taekwondo is a great martial art for protecting oneself in these times (when COVID-19 prevails).“

Reports also claim that Trump confirmed he would wear his taekwondo gi to Congress should he be elected to as the United States president for a second time, as well as issuing an invite to the Kukkiwon Taekwondo demonstration team to the United States in order to perform. 

Donald Trump receives an honorary ninth-degree Taekwondo black belt

Trump, who has never actually practiced Taekwondo, joins Russian president, and Judo black belt Vladimir Putin to receive an honorary ninth-degree Taekwondo black belt during a 2013 visit to Seoul, South Korea.

Campbell McLaren, a co-creator of the UFC and the current CEO of Combate Global gave his thoughts on Trump receiving an honorary ninth-degree black belt in Taekwondo — confirming his skepticism of the martial art as a whole.

“In the early days of UFC we called TKD [Taekwondo] “Take Your Dough” because you could but a belt at many dojos,” McLaren tweeted. “I’ve been glad to see TKD’s recent influence on MMA.“

Trump recently featured in a special commentary booth at a Triller Fight Club event back in September where former undisputed UFC light heavyweight champion, Vitor Belfort stopped former professional boxing champion, Evander Holyfield in a dominant one-sided, eventual exhibition bout.

Donald Trump was full of praise for Vitor Belfort after his first-round TKO win over Evander Holyfield at Triller Fight Club Legends 2 on Saturday night.

The former US President was in the commentary booth with his son, Donald Trump Jr., Junior Dos Santos, and Jorge Masvidal at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.

After the main event concluded, Trump took his chance to congratulate Belfort.

“You are some fighter,” Trump said. “I have to tell you, you have a couple of friends between Jorge and Junior, and my son, my ‘junior,’ they said you’re going to do fantastically well…I said, ‘Well, but boxing’s not his thing.’ Junior said, ‘Yes it is, you just watch.’”

“You are a great patriot and we appreciate it,” Trump added when speaking to Belfort who recited the 45th American President’s tagline “Let’s make America great again.”

“Vitor, your stock was very high, but it’s even higher tonight because you beat somebody who is, I don’t know, I think probably one of the greatest of all time,” Trump continued. “There’s no question about Evander and we love Evander. I know Evander, and I’ve never seen that happen to Evander. I’ve been with Evander a long time and it’s just one of those things, you were really fantastic.” (Transcribed by MMA Junkie)

Belfort has now kickstarted his boxing career. ‘The Phenom’ and the Triller execs sent a call out to Jake Paul post-fight. The YouTuber has just picked up his fourth professional boxing win, beating Tyron Woodley over eight rounds. Paul has been open about his desire to fight a real boxer next, preferably Tommy Fury. Although, he could be swayed by the $30 million winner takes all offer to fight Belfort instead.

Former POTUS Donald Trump is intrigued by a possible boxing match between Vitor Belfort and Jorge Masvidal.

Belfort competed on the Sept. 11 Triller card. He went one-on-one with 58-year-old boxing legend Evander Holyfield. Belfort was simply too fast and at this point in his life, too athletic for Holyfield. “The Phenom” scored a first-round TKO finish.

Trump was on commentary with Jorge Masvidal and Junior dos Santos for the gamecast version of the event. After the fight, Trump praised Belfort (via MMAJunkie.com).

The former POTUS then said Belfort defeated one of the greatest boxing heavyweights of all time.

“Vitor, your stock was very high, but it’s even higher tonight because you beat somebody who is, I don’t know, I think probably one of the greatest of all time. There’s no question about Evander and we love Evander. I know Evander, and I’ve never seen that happen to Evander. I’ve been with Evander a long time and it’s just one of those things, you were really fantastic.”

Donald Trump even suggested that Belfort shares the ring with Masvidal. That doesn’t appear to be in Triller’s sights, however. After Belfort defeated Holyfield, he called out YouTuber Jake Paul. Triller’s Ryan Kavanaugh said there’s a $30 million winner takes all offer for Paul to fight Belfort.

Paul has dealt with Triller twice before but he signed a deal with Showtime Sports for his most recent outing with Tyron Woodley. The Internet sensation has been taking aim at Tommy Fury, the brother of WBC Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury, as of late.

Chris Evans, or better known as ‘Captain America’ took to Twitter to bash Donald Trump for his involvement with the fight on September 11th.

Former President Trump will be commentating on the Vitor Belfort vs Evander Holyfield card on Sep.11th alongside his son Donald Trump Jr. The fight also lands on the 11th which marks the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center in New York. Almost 3,000 people died that day and the US uses the day to ‘Never Forget’.

Evans then took to Twitter to bash Trump for taking the gig on the anniversary, “On the 20th anniversary of one of the darkest days in American history, a former president of the United States of America will be…..hosting a pay-per-view boxing match in Florida. Honestly, how, HOW do the people who support him square this?”

Trump is calling the fight for Triller Fight Club and will serve as an alternate listening experience for the fans. Trump has been an avid fight fan and even shows up for many UFC fights. His most recent UFC sighting being when he was introduced at UFC 264 to a thunderous applause. The 45th President will be calling the fight at, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.

The fight card also features Anderson Silva‘s return to the boxing ring against another UFC legend Tito Ortiz. Silva recently defeated Julia Cesar Chavez Jr in a fight earlier this year. These types of fights and cards capture the imagination of the crowd and the fans. Getting Trump as a commentator for the fight only furthers that and gets more eyeballs on the fights. Some call it a great marketing scheme and some call it the clown show.
