Stamann has been vocal about his desire to put on an emphatic performance against Wineland, and that was exactly what he did. Stamann rocked Wineland extremely early, and then refused to let off the pressure. Punches and knees kept Wineland reeling, eventually forcing the referee to step in and stop the fight.
This win sees Stamann snap his three-fight losing streak, and promises a return to form from ‘The Spartan.’

Roman Dolidze got UFC Austin off to bang with a brutal first-round finish over an experienced and talented opponent in Kyle Daukaus.
After receiving criticism in his previous bout for an overly wrestling-heavy approach, Dolidze went out looking for blood. After a clash of heads caused a slight pause in the action, Dolidze quickly turned on the heat. The Georgian-born middleweight dropped Daukaus with a quick flurry, and he immediately followed him to the mat.
Whilst Daukaus was initially able to survive, and even managed to climb to his feet with the aid of the cage, Dolidze simply used it to set up a brutal finishing strike. While pinning Daukaus against the cage, Dolidze threw a knee that landed clean on the head of Daukaus, instantly sending him sprawling to the canvas.
Below, check out the highlights of Roman Dolidze’s first-round finish of Kyle Daukaus at UFC Austin:

Lauzon’s knee locked up shortly after their weigh-in on Friday, as he revealed on social media. Lauzon is unable to walk without assistance and the fight with Cerrone has been called off for a second time.
Cerrone and Lauzon were originally supposed to take place at a UFC Fight Night on April 30 before being rescheduled for UFC 274. On fight day, the fight was canceled after Cerrone suffered from food poisoning just hours before the event.
It’s uncertain if the UFC will opt to attempt to book the Cerrone/Lauzon fight for a third time or if they’ll move on with different opponents for both fighters. UFC President Dana White has previously said that the loser of Cerrone vs. Lauzon should “ride off into the sunset” and retire.
Cerrone last fought in May 2021 against short-notice replacement Alex Morono. He lost via first-round TKO after being originally scheduled to face fellow veteran Diego Sanchez.
Cerrone has since competed in grappling bouts against world-renowned jiu-jitsu practitioner Craig Jones and UFC colleague Joe Solecki.
It’s been a long road for Lauzon, who hasn’t fought since Oct. 2019. He earned a first-round TKO win over Jonathan Pearce at UFC on ESPN 6.
UFC Austin is headlined by a featherweight matchup between Calvin Kattar and Josh Emmett and co-headlined by a welterweight clash between Kevin Holland and Tim Means.

Taking main event honors in ‘The Lone Star State’ — a featherweight pairing between division contenders, Calvin Kattar, and Josh Emmett.
Attempting to land his second straight victory since a one-sided ‘Fight Island’ loss to former champion, Max Holloway, Kattar returned to the Octagon in January with a brutally one-sided win of his own against Giga Chikadze.
As for Emmett, the surging knockout ace scored his fourth consecutive victory back in December at UFC 269, battling over the course of three back-and-forth rounds to defeat common-foe, Dan Ige.
A lightweight pairing between Donald Cerrone and Joe Lauzon was scheduled to take co-headlining honors at the event, however, the bout has since been cancelled by the organization after Lauzon suffered a leg injury ahead of tonight’s return to Austin.

Former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley has a bone to pick with featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski.
Woodley left the UFC last year following four-straight losses in the Octagon. He hasn’t fought in MMA since but has fought in back-to-back boxing matches against YouTuber turned professional boxer, Jake Paul.
Woodley remains a prominent presence despite his lack of recent fight activity, including podcast appearances and progression in his music career. He isn’t afraid to speak his mind, even when it comes to his former UFC colleagues.
“I’m a trailblazer. I do everything first and everybody do it afterwards,” Woodley said. “I’m the first vlog, Champ Camp is the number one, still the best, but it’s the first one. Everybody went after me. The first MMA vlog is Champ Camp. And I dare somebody to use it. I had a UFC champion that decided to call his sh*t Champ Camp. (I said), ‘I appreciate y’all, support you, but that’s kinda trademarked, you might wanna take that down. I know you didn’t know’. (He said), ‘Ah cool, cool, I’ll take it down.’ Volkanovski. Can’t call it that ’cause you dilute my brand.”
Woodley most recently produced his ‘Champ Camp’ vlogs for his two fights with Paul. This included footage of him training with Hall of Famer Floyd Mayweather ahead of the first matchup.
Volkanovski has a YouTube playlist entitled ‘UFC 260 – Champ Camp’, which could be what Woodley is referring to. While it appears that Woodley doesn’t hold disdain for the 145lb champion, he may be in talks with Volkanovski soon if his vlogs aren’t titled differently.
What are your thoughts on Tyron Woodley’s comments?
