Fedor has voiced his opinion regarding Khabib’s recent comments directed at MMA ring girls.

The recently retired Khabib Nurmagomedov has come under fire following the controversial comments he made targeting “unnecessary” ring girls in the sport of mixed martial arts. Here is some of what Khabib had to say:

“Look, I don’t want to offend anyone, ring girls are the most useless people in martial arts. What is their purpose? I have a question. You can show that it is the second round on the screen. I realize that is a history. History knows many mistakes. We read history to avoid mistakes of the past in the future. If we look in the history, it says they are useless. That is my personal opinion…”

Former and current fighters, pundits, and even ring girls themselves have all replied to Khabib’s opinions on this subject, and now, “The Last Emperor” Fedor Emelianenko has given his thoughts on the subject.

While speaking with Fighting Flashback, Fedor was asked to share his views on Khabib’s statements and whether he agreed with his fellow Russian or not.

“The girls are showing the number of the rounds… [Round shaped] plates. The only [thing] is to dress them more decent.” Emelianenko said.

When pressed to comment further on the issue, Fedor insisted that his focus remains solely on his team and family, and whatever Khabib said is none of his concern.

“You know I don’t have [anything to do with it],” Fedor stated. “I have enough problems and affairs of my team and my family to not fill my head with stupid things.”

Tim Johnson admits securing a fight with Fedor Emelianenko at Bellator 269 feels like winning the lottery.

‘The Last Emperor’ announced in June that he will take his retirement tour to Moscow, Russia on October 23. At the time it was unclear who Emelianenko would fight. Junior dos Santos, Alistair Overeem, Fabricio Werdum, and Jake Hager, all volunteered themselves before the heavyweight legend opted to face Johnson instead.

Johnson has been on something of a roll as of late. The 36-year-old picked up high-profile wins over Tyrell Fortune, Matt Mitrione, and Cheick Kongo to secure a shot at the interim heavyweight title. However, he didn’t seem to be in the running for a fight Emelianenko after falling to a defeat against his protégé, Valentin Moldavsky, last time out.

During a recent interview with LowKickMMA, Johnson admitted he didn’t think he would be chosen as Emelianenko’s opponent and says he felt like he had “won the lottery” after receiving the call to face the heavyweight GOAT.

“Right after my Moldavsky fight, I was in the back getting my eye looked at,” Johnson said. “You know, I was on the phone right away with my agent and told him ‘Well, this fight didn’t go my way, just drop my name in the hat for Fedor’. He had just kind of came out (announced his comeback), no opponents yet.

“As time was going on I didn’t know if I had the name-power to get the fight,” Johnson continued. “So, I was trying to look at other avenues and Brian called me like ‘Hey, you got the fight. He picked you’. (I feel like I’ve) won the lottery and you know, I can’t wait.”

On fight night, Johnson is expecting a tentative opening round before both men let their fists fly in round two.

“I think realistically if it’s going to be a finish it will probably be a second-round finish,” Johnson said. “You know, I think both of us will be testing the waters and understand that first-round heavyweight power, you’ve got to let that battery drain a little bit.”

Junior dos Santos is not happy to hear Fedor Emelianenko’s final fight will come against Tim Johnson at Bellator Moscow on October 23

The former UFC champion is currently a free agent after being cut by the promotion earlier this year.

‘Cigano’ expressed an interest in signing for Bellator and fighting Emelianenko back in March. Since then, things have been pretty quiet on the fight and dos Santos’ next move.

Last week, Emelianenko’s opponent was finally announced and many people, including dos Santos, weren’t exactly thrilled by Bellator’s choice.

“I know a little about Tim Johnson — in fact, almost nothing,” dos Santos said in an interview with MMA Fighting.

“Not trying to sound disrespectful or anything like that, but at first I was very hopeful that I would be a great option for Fedor, to close his career,” dos Santos said. “My idea is that he wanted a great fight, a fight that really interested the fans and made people excited to watch. That would be the case with options like myself, Overeem, and even Werdum. I was imagining something along those lines, something that made sense in my head, but it was completely the opposite of what I was imagining.

“He ended up choosing Tim Johnson. I don’t know how the fight will go, I’m not judging anything, but I believe it would be way more interesting, or at least would get a bit more attention, if it were Overeem, Werdum, me, Josh Barnett. He’s the greatest champion in heavyweight history, I’m a fan of Fedor, but, for his last fight, [I thought] he probably wanted to gift fans with a super fight, one that called the attention of the entire world, but it wasn’t the path he followed. I don’t understand why, but it was a bit disappointing, I can’t say it wasn’t.”
